RAW Steers Us Towards FastLane...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? A happy Yom Kippur to those who celebrate it. I was wondering why traffic was so light this morning 😉 Hard to complain. So, there’s a few things we can certainly chat about. I’ll touch on them briefly. The first bit is old news now but the UFC/WWE merger releases appear to have come to a close for now and the last minute not-so-shocker was the release of Matt Riddle. Now, I didn’t dislike him enough to jump for joy about this but I am glad that it came to pass. As people started to question those released, I could see it becoming harder and harder to explain the likes of Riddle being spared.  It makes sense in a number of ways. One of the blessings that comes from this merger is increased oversight on both ends. Hopefully it tightens up what’s sloppy about the WWE and they can do the same for the UFC. I suppose we shall see. We’ll also see if these vacancies are filled by the likes of Jade Cargill and perhaps a CM Punk return.  While on the topic of rele

CRUISING IN THE FAST LANE…What Happened Last Night (Feb. 22nd, 2015)

It appears that going in blind seems to help when it comes to the WWE.   All I knew was the card going into Fast Lane.   All the promos and lead up matches would indicate nothing in regards to the quality of the evening and with my expectations decidedly at “0” all the wrestlers had to do was perform well and I have to say there really wasn’t a bad match.   There may have been spots of undisputed disinterest but the WWE can’t really be too surprised at that.   The product has been more or less mediocre for years and if the prime directive is just to get asses in the seats as opposed to keep them entertained, they should be glad they got at least that.   Yet, they can’t expect too much growth and can simply hope to maintain with that tactic. It’s these simple truths that I hope prompts the WWE Creative team to do what they should have been doing and sit down and really flesh out a long-term game plan that validates all the pomp and circumstance.   We may have settled the WrestleMa

Getting Ready to Merge into the FAST LANE...

Good Afternoon, Enthusiasts! And an early good evening for our East Coast compatriots.  It's the night of Fast Lane and the Oscars and there's a low buzz going on about both it would seem, like a white-noisy hum in the background.  I'm still blissfully uncertain of the night's outcome in either regard and quite fine with waiting and seeing.  Maybe we'll get something good, maybe we'll get something bad but more than likely we'll just get what we get. Suppose it could be worse (^_~) That doesn't mean we can't tweet about it and have some fun.  Funny ones get retweeted and if someone comes up with a gem, it's sure to get favorited.  See You in a Bit, -Nicole Alexis. PUTTIN’ THAT SMACKDOWN…What Happened Last (Tuesday) Night [Feb. 19th, 2015]

Image
I’ll say this, Enthusiasts.   This week’s episode of Smackdown was less apprehensive in comparison to the episode prior to the Royal Rumble and so, by that marker, I think we don’t have too much to worry about come Sunday.   It’s still anybody’s guess as to how things will go but, as I voiced in my previous post and a bit on the Twitters, I get the feeling that Seth Rollins should figure somehow.   After further research, it appears we have a 6-Man-Tag with him involved scheduled for Sunday evening but, that match doesn’t really do anything to move anything along.   I mean, there are really no rewards or consequences for winning or losing.   Could that allude to a possible preemption for a Money in the Bank cash in? At the rate the WWE is currently going, the bulk of what's presented turns out to be MacGuffins.  Why not build some drama? Or will my off-shoot prediction transpire and will we eventually be led into some sort of Fatal-4-Way for WrestleMania? And then, there’s

GIVING IT TO YOU RAW…What Happened Last Night (Feb. 16th, 2015)

And so, true to form, RAW gets our interests piqued for Fast Lane but for what exactly?  What can we expect to be entertained with this Sunday night?  Will it be compelling?  Will it be epic?  Or will it simply leave us wanting?  The WWE track record would have us prepare for the last option but, who knows.  This week’s RAW was not entirely predictable and the twists and turns didn’t really assist as it simply mixed things up, which doesn’t hurt but allows them to break even in a different manner, I guess.  I will wait until Smackdown before I decide to feel any one way about Fast Lane, Enthusiasts.  Yet, given what RAW presented, I would say the question now would be are we going to be surprised, underwhelmed or severely disappointed? We’re in Orlando, Florida to begin the “Go Home” trek to Fast Lane and we have John Cena to start things off.   As you remember, he’s set to box Rusev at Fast Lane and has to tag him back for that cheap shot he took last week a nd we should ta
