RAW Keeps the Focus on Money in the Bank...

Image
Happy Monday, Enthusiasts!   It’s another week which means it’s another RAW . Before we get into that, why don’t we take a very brief look at what’s happening in this wrestling world. We only do this about twice a week so, let’s give it a little time.   So, generally speaking, there’s not much going on. Everyone is more or less in prep mode for July when touring and audiences become common place again. In the meantime, the thing that seems to have circulated the most is that Eddie Kingston took a mild jab at WWE in a statement he made to the AEW crowd after filming. He basically said that WWE doesn’t always listen to its fans unlike AEW and this is more or less true. This wouldn’t be a problem if WWE consistently churned out decent product. That’s the main reason I and so many others have a valid grievance when it comes to WWE. I wouldn’t mind them doing it their way if it worked. It works maybe half the time. That is what opens the door for ridicule. So, as much as Kingston

Happy Friday, Enthusiasts!     Well, it’s a not so happy Friday for some as more WWE releases dropped today. This time around, I don’t think many are surprised. I never got Fandango though I didn’t mind the Fashion Files. I think Tyler Breeze cutting his hair was a bad idea too. Oh well. Take note. Times like these are when the WWE parallel to high school makes itself known. These cuts were “uncool” wrestlers for whatever reason. People just weren’t very interested. That doesn’t mean they aren’t great people. Good luck to them in their future endeavors.     In other news, it looks like Angelo Dawkins will be a solo act for 6-8 weeks. Montez Ford decided to have elective surgery for an undisclosed ailment. Naturally, we wish him a speedy recovery.     There are other rumblings but for now, that’s all that caught my interest. I’ll keep it short and sweet this week. Why force it? And so, for tonight we get a little change up as WWE experiments with the mixed tag. Cesaro and

Hell in a Cell Is Old News! It's All About Money in the Bank, Now...

How’s This Monday Going for You, Enthusiasts?   I hope it’s not too much of a drag. At least it’s coming to a close, right? So, Hell in a Cell has come and gone and it wasn’t bad, per se. It wasn’t “must see” by any means but I don’t feel my time was wasted. This is life in the WWE.   Let’s start with the match of the night. For me, it was Bayley vs. Bianca BelAir. Bayley has really come into her own and really sold her side of the match wonderfully. BelAir brought her special talents to the night too as she simply destroyed Bayley on a ladder. Regardless of who you were rooting for, that move was hard to deny. That’s the sort of display that resonates in the WWE Universe. We can’t help but take note of an honest ass-whooping. BelAir proved she can dish one out. Noted.   Alexa Bliss and Shayna Baszler weren’t all that bad until the “mind control” was introduced to pull in Nia Jax. Oh boy, where to begin. Again, moments like this are my case and point regarding suspending di

What’s Going On, Enthusiasts?   You ready for this early Hell in a Cell PPV? I’m not going to lie and say I’m hopping with anticipation but I’m going to watch it like always. No biggie.     Per usual, I’ll just talk a little about matches of interest and then we see what they actually do with it. The first match that comes to mind is Shayna Baszler vs. Alexa Bliss. Now, this could go horribly bad or surprisingly well. Don’t think I want this to fail. There’s just a way to do things. If someone is innovative and accounts for the crucial aspects, great! Anything is possible. It just wasn’t achieved with The Fiend angle. It’s a horror flick gimmick, not a wrestling gimmick. It’s too hard to make it work in real time. Can’t suspend the disbelief. Where Bliss is going right is that she’s more some crazy bitch playing with Witchcraft. There are too many paranormal shows on to not think there’s some truth to playing with “doors”. We can buy she’s fucking with something. Bray Wyatt, ju

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Enjoying your, Friday? I hope so. I have a lot on my plate this weekend but that doesn’t stop me from taking a break for some wrassling. There’s quite a bit to talk about this week. Let’s get into some of the more buzzworthy items.   So, let’s start with the downer first. The documentary on Chyna is out on Vice and I can’t bring myself to watch it. Not sure I ever will. It’s just too sad. She was an unfortunate consequence of the machinations of WWE. I respect that the she should be remembered but, man. The story is depressing. I’d just rather not. Mick Foley gives it his mark of approval though.   In happier news, both Renée Paquette and Brandi Rhodes bore their daughters this week. Congratulations to them both. I won’t presume they’ll grow up to be best friends but their connection will be undeniable regardless. May they be prosperous and healthy.   On the business side of things, the rumor is that USA Network isn’t too pleased with WWE

RAW Reminds Us It's the Go-Home Show for HIAC...

A Good Monday to You, Enthusiasts!   There are some interesting rumblings in the wrestling world today. Some you may find more promising than others. Nevertheless, it’s probably good to be aware of what’s making the rounds on the grapevine. Let’s get into it, shall we?   So, Eric Bischoff is pretty much done with wrestling. He’s not bitter about it or anything he’s just kinda over it. He’s been doing it for the better part of his life and he is simply realizing that there is more to life than wrestling. He’ll peek back in from time to time but for what it’s worth, he’s through. Well, I only knew of the man though the biographies and the Dark Side of the Ring episodes have filled in some blanks. I wasn’t really aware of the man when he was in his heyday but I do know that he has made innumerable contributions to the industry and his service is respected and valued. I think he’s earned the right to do something else. I hope he fills his days with whatever keeps him happy.   T

A Good Friday to You, Enthusiasts!   I hope the week treated you well. As for the wrestling world, it’s been a varied week. There’s a lot of chatter and it’s hard to say what, if anything, it means. Shall we dive in?   So, Triple H has been getting a bit of press recently for making some…controversial statements. Controversial in that it has prompted quite a few people to respond, myself included. Yet, what I gathered from this move is that he’s doing exactly as “The Game” does, getting in our heads and making us mad. He’s the Cerebral Assassin for a reason. I think he’s stirring the pot to see if he can still stir it. That is perfectly fine. It’s good to take a temperature from time to time. I only say this because we all know that H is not stupid. He may not have the finest education but he does know a thing or to about the WWE Universe and he is a Heel of all Heels. Is he giving us a taste of how he’ll handle himself in the event he’s handed the reins? I wouldn’t be surprise

RAW Is in a Pickle. They Have to Earn Their Keep...

A Merry Monday to You, Enthusiasts.     Well, this is a bit of a loaded RAW set for tonight and I’m not talking about the line-up. There’s a lot riding on this show whether people realize it or not. This may be the epitome of being damned if you do and damned if you don’t as the RAW roster tries to figure out how to bolster its street-cred. Now, I know not everyone is going to get axed but this isn’t exactly the best time to have an off night. It’s bad enough most probably won’t have the best material to work with to start. I really don’t envy these guys. SmackDown held its ground now RAW has to prove it’s worth a damn.     Guess we should be glad that Asuka took it upon herself to lighten the mood with a little poke to Dave Batista. She’s got this photoshopped image of her head on his body circulating around Twitter and the exchange between the 2 of them is cute. I might even say it’s some light, harmless flirting. It’s a pleasant distraction.     Outside of that, peop

How Are You Doing, Enthusiasts?   Well, you don’t need me to know what the big news is. I knew it was better to hedge bets than to get starry eyed with the potentials. The Dark One, Aleister Black is back to being Tommy End as WWE has decided he wasn’t worth it. Given the backlash, now they probably know they were wrong. Will they manage to save face and somehow get him back? It’s hard to say because his dismissal may have more to do with what’s going on in the Entertainment Industry at large.   For those of you who don’t follow, AT&T has decided to unload WarnerMedia, the parent company for TNT and TBS, the TV homes for AEW. WarnerMedia is set to merge with Discovery , to become Warner Bros. Discovery. This isn’t set to go down until next year but the move could prove interesting. There are some sports claims to come with this merger but what we’re most concerned about is how does this potentially effect AEW. We already know that the plan is move them to TBS next year, so
