SmackDown Mixes It Up a Bit...

Happy Friday, Enthusiasts!   The wrestling world has some goings-on but only a few things caught my interest. Let me just touch on a some of those.   I’m a little late on this one but recently, Malakai/Aleister Black made some comments regarding his sabbatical. Apparently, he intends to stay with AEW and apparently has received death threats in regards to his possible departure. Now, who in their right mind is threatening to kill over this stuff? Seriously? It’s scripted! What is there to get that pissed about? Talk about stupid shit. Let the man do what he has to do. Besides, if he does decide to leave, we want a WWE return to be a complete surprise. I wouldn’t be surprised he’s denying it just to not ruin it. Leave him be!   In the WWE Universe, Seth Rollins sat down for an interview with Ariel Helwani on his YouTube channel show, “Ariel Helwani Meets”. Rollins bemoans being second fiddle in the Roman Reigns Era and I would have to say this is indicative of the wrestling

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Well, there’s not all that much going on in the wrestling world at the moment but there’s enough to have a little chat. Let’s not waste any time and get into it.   So, given Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat is going to have a match soon, Ric Flair has reconsidered his “retirement”. There’s no date set but the man plans to get back into the ring. I don’t know why. Well, I can figure but the point of the matter is that he’s old. That’s compounded by his former lifestyle. He’s 73* meaning that * comes with about 15 additional years of wear and tear so he might as well be about 90. Trainwreck aficionados will be up for it, but I simply don’t like the idea of an old man slowly killing himself out there, even if the gentleman in question finds it fun. I won’t be looking out for this one.   Over at AEW, another former WWE roster member in Buddy Matthews/Murphy is also taking some time off. It’s hard to say if he’ll return to AEW. He may want to try his h

Happy Friday, Enthusiasts!   How’s it treating you? Well, there are few things to chat about in the wrestling world. Let’s get down to it shall we?   So, first let’s start with AEW. It appears that Paige, now going by her first name, Saraya has joined the crew. Not sure in what capacity as the word is that she’s still not cleared to wrestle. Maybe she becomes a manager/mouthpiece for someone. To be honest, I’m pretty sure I stated here that I was never all that impressed with Paige though I have nothing against her. She just didn’t resonate with me but hopefully she finds a niche in AEW. All the best to her.   Speaking of AEW, sounds like WWE may be set to make some reacquisitions. It sounds like Malakai/Aleister Black is making a move to return to the WWE fold and I can’t wait. I’ve been saying how AEW just doesn’t have the production values to benefit Black’s motif. I look forward to seeing him once he’s rectified his personal troubles.   As for the WWE Universe, it a

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   You doing all right out there. There’s not a lot catching my interest in the wrestling world so this should be a short post. Let’s get into what is piquing interest shall we?   So, Roman Reigns and Logan Paul had their press conference in Las Vegas over the weekend just like for a real fight and it wasn’t without it’s “drama”. I actually liked the “confrontation” between Paul and Reigns, mainly because of Triple H. He handled it like it’s supposed to be handled in the WWE Universe and it added just the right amount of “bite” to the exchange.   I found this interesting because in my last post I was commenting on how we can’t sell “toxic” anymore. You’d think they’d be more chiding chatter for Reigns shoving Paul after Paul ran his mouth but no, it played just as it should have. Building interest for the “fight”. The old trick worked and I’m glad. We like to be rough and tumble over here. If they can’t do that, what’s the point? It’s nice to see

SmackDown Welcomes Logan Paul...

Happy Friday, Enthusiasts!   Goodness, got a lot of European traffic in the past 24 hours. Not sure why. Is Logan Paul that popular? These ebbs and flows always intrigue me.   As for wrestling news, there isn’t that much that caught my interest but there’s enough going on to chat a little. Let’s get into it.   So, let’s start with AEW. Looks like they don’t need CM Punk. Ratings came in for this week’s Dynamite and they were the highest they’ve been all year sans Punk. He’s not quite the draw anymore and this recent display of his “less becoming” traits would seem to indicate some AEW solidarity amongst viewers/fans. If I’m WWE, I use this to tempt him back to the “Dark Side”. He may say it was killing him, but I get the feeling in strange way, that life keeps him alive. We’ll see what happens. I’m sure they can be more accommodating this time around if they can keep things interesting with him.   Heading over to WWE, Bray Wyatt may be overvaluing himself. Talks are on ho

RAW Has Got Some Time. How About You...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Anything interesting going on? Well, there’s a little bit going on but I’m just gonna wrap up the CM Punk business and get into tonight’s No Man’s Land RAW action.   So, after all the hubbub, Punk is out with a torn triceps for about 8 months and there it is. The “hiatus” so everyone can decide what to do with this fiasco. Well, if AEW is the kinder, gentler wrestling promotion, they won’t fire him while he recovers. I would think they would at least give him time to recover and potentially explain himself. Then they’ll decide what to do with him.   On the other hand, in this down time, WWE could enter the picture. Yet, I don’t think they’d seek to acquire him as is. He’s probably going to have to make some sort of amends so he’s not just complete damaged goods. Yet, they may be able to negotiate themselves a “fair deal” given that’s what Punk did to himself.   Also, there’s the possibility that Punk goes “Fuck it!” and retires. He’s not

Happy Friday, Enthusiasts!   This is the most disagreeable heat I have ever experienced in my life to date. Not only is it really hot but even the rain we’re getting isn’t helping. The climate she is a changing. Well, this time around, the wrestling world serves as a welcome distraction. Let’s get into this CM Punk business and put it to bed once and for all.   So, what’s going on with this guy? Is this Punk business a misfired work or proof of the truth that’s always lied beneath? It’s hard to say but the consensus is coming to the conclusion that this was at the very least “premeditated”. From what I’m hearing, Tony Khan knew Punk had some sort of bee in his bonnet just didn’t know how big or what kind.   Let’s break it down into its bare parts. What gets me about the whole thing is the timing of it. CM Punk unloads after their All Out PPV, that he wins. Has a “fight” backstage with people he’s known to “dislike” and then in the melee supposedly suffered an injury that t

Clash at the Castle Has Its RAW Fallout...

Happy Labor Day, Enthusiasts!   Whether you’re in the United States or elsewhere, please enjoy this Monday. So, there are quite few things to talk about in the wrestling world. Let’s not waste any time and get right into it.   To start, Clash at the Castle was had and it was solid fun. Could be considered a bit predictable but not too annoyingly so. To look at it, I would say Triple H was just playing it safe. He’s establishing an attainable precedent to build upon and I would have to say that he has accomplished that. There was nothing really to be ashamed of last Saturday night. Yes, the end was a little corny with Tyson Fury and Drew McIntyre singing but I guess WWE was just trying to ease the pain of McIntyre taking the loss.   As I said last post, Reigns’ story is just more interesting. I don’t think H can do much about the nature of the WWE Universe. It will always be 14 th grade more or less. Though the crowd may be generally older, it doesn’t venture too far away f

It's Clash at the Castle...

Good Morning, Enthusiasts!   It’s probably afternoon or evening for the lot of you but I’m last to the party by default. How’s everyone doing? So, it’s Clash at the Castle and I’m about to have breakfast. That being said, let me just get on with it and breakdown my personal matches of interest. Let’s see what we got here.   First match that has me curious is Matt Riddle vs. Seth Rollins. This could be potentially very interesting. Mainly because the simmering beef is kinda half real. Rollins doesn’t like Riddle for obvious reasons (sexual assault allegation) and so how much of this is kayfabe is an intriguing question. They’re willing to go there on television but will someone go “too far”? Who knows. That’s what makes it juicy. We’ll see if it turns out to be a good match as well.   Second on the curiosity meter is Shayna Baszler and Liv Morgan. So, isn’t this the night & day match. Well, I see that Baszler is slowly becoming the reluctant heroine and I think that it i

What’s Going On, Enthusiasts?   Are you in a heatwave? Well, I live by the beach so, I don’t really feel I can complain too much. But it is hot. Summer showing up later and later each year. In any case, there are few tidbits we can talk about in the wrestling world. Let’s get into it, shall we?   So, let’s start in the “American League” with AEW. There’s talk about the roster being a bit disgruntled. There’s been a lot of rumors about tension in the AEW locker room and some of the malcontents are said to be Malakai/Aleister Black and Miro/Rusev. Well, these are just rumors so it’s hard to say how much merit comes with them, but I’ve made it clear that I am all for them to return to the WWE Universe. I can see Black still having a bad taste in his mouth but the truth of it is that WWE has the production values to make his gimmick work. It was working before he left and now that Triple H is in the driver’s seat, he can potentially pick up where he left off. Naturally, there would
