RAW's Halloween Goes Home for Crown Jewel...

Image
A Good Monday to You, Enthusiasts! How’s everything going? Well, I hope. I know it’s Halloween but who’s really going out on a Monday night? I am looking forward to the evening’s festivities, though. Curious to see how WWE will celebrate the occasion.  Before we get to that, we have some news to chat about. We’ll start with the heavier fare as Carmella has revealed that we haven’t seen her in a while due to her recovery from a miscarriage, among other things. My condolences go out to her. Solace can be taken in the fact that the pregnancy was ectopic meaning it wasn’t viable from the get-go but it’s a devastating event to suffer through and I hope for her full recovery and return.  In lighter news, both AEW and WWE had to contend with lower ratings last Friday due to the World Series taking importance. It happens at about this time so it should have been expected. SmackDown was pushed to FS1 and many fans either didn’t have access or didn’t get the notice on the channel change. Sinc

Happy Friday, Enthusiasts!   I hope all is going well. There are some things going on in the wrestling world but I’ve found a few that caught my interest. Let’s see what’s been going on this week.   So, we have another “chapter” in the CM Punk miniseries. Apparently, even his dog got a piece of the action backstage in the All Out brawl. That just made me laugh so naturally, I’m not buying it but it goes to show how he should roll with this punch…no pun intended. Humor is the way out of this pickle. I think he should play along with his “bad attitude” and angle to make it comedic gold. You always know you can get a headache and a laugh with CM Punk around. I never thought this was all that real to begin with but this kinda confirms my suspicions. People just don’t know how to play along anymore. They take everything so seriously. Hope he manages to have fun with it.   In the WWE Universe, we have some branch out news as Liv Morgan got a role on USA’s Chucky . I didn’t see he

RAW Attempts to Keep It Interesting Ahead of Crown Jewel....

How Are You Doing, Enthusiasts?   We don’t have a lot to chat about today. A lot of what’s going around I’ve already talked about but there are some things we can touch on. Let’s get to it, shall we?   Well, let’s start with the bad news. Kevin Nash has suffered the loss of his son, Tristen. The story is tragic. The poor man was suffering from alcoholism to such an extent that in an attempt to go “cold turkey” and simply stop drinking alcohol resulted in a withdrawal induced seizure which led to cardiac arrest. That is unfortunate because that means Nash’s son was a heavy drinker. It’s even more tragic that he was trying to correct his path. My sincere condolences to the family.   In lighter news, both AEW and WWE took ratings hits on Friday. With Baseball in post season, there is more “important” sports entertainment going on. As you probably noticed, I managed to catch up with SmackDown on Saturday and I may be doing that for a time. Though this next week has the World

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   The past couple weeks have been kinda lackluster but this week seems to have some action to talk about. Shall we take that crack at it?   So, let’s start with AEW. There’s some good news as many know Hangman Page suffered a concussion on this week’s Tuesday night showing of Dynamite in his match against Jon Moxley. Reports state that he is on the mend which is always good to hear. I can only imagine this may have jolted Mox in very personal ways. We don’t hear about him doing much harm to anyone other than himself so I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s working through some guilt. As everyone knows, accidents do happen. He just has to check himself and learn the lesson.   Also, in AEW news, there’s word that there are negotiations for CM Punk’s contract buyout. On top of that, there are rumors that Triple H is not opposed to taking him back. Didn’t I say that should probably happen 😉 In the event that it does, I think the reacquisition should be

RAW Makes the Most of Open Water Ahead of Crown Jewel...

Happy Monday, Enthusiasts.   Another week another dollar.   So, there’s not that much going on in the wrestling world but there are few things to chat about. Let’s not waste any time, shall we.   We had Bray Wyatt’s return last week and I appreciated his emotional statement. It is certain he is not the same man who left the WWE Universe but that doesn’t mean he has distanced himself from the bizarre and macabre. That’s fine. All I’ll be saying is remember what didn’t work last time.   In other news, Triple H tested positive for COVID so we probably won’t be hearing much about him this week. Hopefully, there are no symptoms. Naturally, we humbly await his return.   Some more promising news is that Cody Rhodes is recovering nicely and may be ahead of schedule. We’ll see if that results in a surprise return at Survivor Series or the Royal Rumble.   Speaking of PPVs/PLEs, the 2023 Day 1 PLE has been canceled leaving December 2022 PPV-less. Perhaps they could revamp Clas

SmackDown Completes Extreme Rules' Fallout...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   I hope everyone is doing well. So, there’s stuff going on but most of it doesn’t interest me much. But I did see a few of things that drew my attention. Let’s have a little chat about them, shall we?   So, Renée Paquette has joined her husband, Jon Moxley, in AEW officially. I don’t mind this. Yet, again, the same questions arise as did with Mox. Both of them are talented and well-respected in the industry. I can understand them both being done with WWE but at the same time, is AEW the best use of their talents? It’s the only viable counter to WWE to be honest. Yes, there are other promotions but this is the only one that may gain enough notoriety to actually rival WWE. The hope has to more or less be to become the founding fathers/mothers of the WWE alternative. Let’s hope that becomes the case.   Elsewhere, Ariel Helwani is dealing with some backlash as a recent interview he had with Tony Khan didn’t exactly go smoothly. I’m not sure what on

Fallout After Extreme Rules Can Be Intense...

What’s Going On, Enthusiasts!   So, Extreme Rules came and went and it wasn’t a bad show. It was pretty decent, actually. I know most people preferred the Donnybrook, but I found Edge vs. Finn Bálor the most interesting. How can you hate it when Beth Phoenix gets involved? And this match told the clearest “story”. I like being entertained 😉 Yet, before we get into that, let’s talk a little bit about what’s going on in the wrestling world. Just a little.   So, it looks like Jon Moxley signed a contract extension with AEW that keeps him on for 5 more years. It looks like he might retire with them yet, given the state of affairs, I hope there’s an exit clause in there somewhere. I’m happy for Moxley. I’m glad he’s willing to make a commitment but I just hope he’s not being short-sighted. It sounds like this deal went down before things slid downhill. Nevertheless, I understand him being over WWE to a certain degree but I don’t know if AEW brings out the best in him. I hope it do

Extreme Rules for the New Age...

Happy Saturday, Enthusiasts! We had a solid SmackDown lead us into today’s events and the scant card makes me think that there are more surprises to come. Will the source of the White Rabbit appear? Will we have some jaw dropping return or acquisition? Can’t say but I’ll be watching to see. Now, all the regular readers know I don’t bother to run down every match but I’ll talk about the 3 I feel are the matches to watch or at the very least, interest me. The first of which is Drew McIntyre vs. Karrion Kross. I wouldn’t have thought about this one much if it wasn’t for their showing on last night’s SmackDown . That, I would have to say, is something. Kross has to make a statement since this is 2 nd shot and it appears he doesn’t plan on missing the mark.  Strangely enough, he may be a good counter for Drew McIntyre. As I’ve said in past posts, professional wrestling/sports entertainment requires a sort of sincerity. There has to be authenticity in the characters and the action for we,

SmackDown Says Go Home Too, But Come Back Tomorrow....

How Goes It, Enthusiasts. Well, looks like the wrestling world was bored with itself too at the beginning of the week. We got stuff to talk  about now. Let’s get to it, shall we? So, it looks like Saraya f.k.a. Paige is clear to wrestle again. From what I’ve seen, it appears that her previous hardships have served to add the missing layer, performance wise. She seems to be making a better go of it this time around. I’m happy for her. I hope she makes the most of her second chance at a wrestling career with AEW. Sticking with AEW, it appears their internal woes continue. Now, Andrade has made it clear that he doesn’t care for Sammy Guevara. Word is they threw hands backstage recently. Well, the story keeps changing but the account that seems to be making the rounds the most is that Andrade took a swing but Guevara kept his hands clean. The truth is hard to come by but Andrade is making it clear he doesn’t mind walking if it comes to that. Well, I’m not so sure that’s a good idea. I’ve r

RAW Says to Go-Home!...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Well, there’s not much going on in the wrestling world today. Call it a slow news day. That said, I’ll keep this short.   So, it is the Go-Home Week for Extreme Rules and the final pieces should be slotting into place tonight and Friday night. For tonight’s RAW, Chad Gable will play “David” to Braun Strowman’s “Goliath”. Seth Rollins and Matt Riddle will play “I’m Not Touching You…” since to lay hands on each other has Extreme Rules repercussions. AJ Styles will partner with Rey Mysterio to take on The Judgment Day and Bayley and Bianca Belair will showdown for the contract signing for their match.   I haven’t seen anything too exciting on the social medias but that has never stopped me from tuning in before. Funny tweets and Likes will get retweeted. Don’t try too hard just see if you get a touch of genius.     See You in a Bit, - Nicole Alexis (^_~)
