SmackDown Closed Well. So, RAW What Will It Be? Go Out with a Bang or Bust?

A Good Monday to You, Enthusiasts! I hope you only had to work with a Holiday schedule if you had to work at all.   These are special times indeed.   In any case, SmackDown actually gets to boast a little at the beginning of the week.   Word has it that they did fairly well in ratings last Friday and I can say that it wasn’t a bad show. It looked like they had a lot of fun and took full advantage of us being in a Holiday daze.   I didn’t mind it.   So now, RAW has to keep pace with being the final RAW of the decade and it set itself up by promoting the “wedding” of Lana and Bobby Lashley.   Well, I said it on the Twitters.   A good way to salvage this mess is to have Lashley and Rusev turn on Lana in this fiasco.   I’m not expecting that to happen but I hope the WWE higher ups are prepared for everyone deciding to do something else while this trudges along. What did seem interesting is that a rematch between Aleister Black and Buddy Murphy is scheduled tonight, as well and

Happy Friday, Enthusiasts! The Holidays treating you all right?   I really can ’ t complain.   These are good times.   In any case, RAW believe or not, could have been a lot worse.   Yes, Lana got us to grit our teeth in a bad way but it really could have been way more phoned in.   They looked like they went and had some fun out there.   It was good to see Mojo Rawley.   I know he ’ s an odd cat to place but I think he deserves a chance.   I think they need to double back towards humor, though.   It could be a “ tough guys ” humor if it ’ s any consolation but I like this guy.   He ’ s like the blue collar side of it.   Always need those guys to actually do the work, know what I mean. But who really gets marks for Monday night is Samoa Joe.   Loved how he played along and honestly, I think that ’ s a good way to segue the older guys out of rotation, if they ’ re good on the mic that is.   I don ’ t doubt he ’ s got some more fight in him be we all get old.   Can ’ t take th

It's the Holidays...I'll Get to RAW When I Get to It...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? I’m sure many of you are like me and are enjoying the Holidays.   This being Christmas Eve, I’m not expecting much action but due to my schedule, this is a good day for me to catch up.   As I figured, I was just too caught up with family to get any wrestling action in but, I’m back in town now and got some time to kill.   Perhaps those in the same boat are up to some review action.   Looks like the WWE Universe doesn’t have much going on either, which is to be expected.   I hope everyone is making good use of the down time. ‘Tis the Season and all that.   Though there isn’t much going on, there’s speculation circulating about the Royal Rumble but as I said, I don’t think any of us are really going to focus on that until after the Holidays.   Right now, I think all we really have to look for, if one watches at all, is whether they can keep this entertaining.   This is a good space to experiment but the caveat of trial & error is that it is by co

SmackDown Says, "Happy Holidays!..." as They Deal with TLC Fallout...

Happy Friday & Happy Holidays, Enthusiasts! How are you doing?   Well, I hope a lot of you are like me and have pretty much checked out for the Holidays.   I gotta head out of town tonight.   Gonna see if I can catch the live feed but if I can’t, I’ll be catching up with SmackDown over the weekend.   RAW will definitely be picked up on the flip when I get back in town.   I suggest you all feel free to allow the usual routine to slip as we cater to friends and family during this festive time.   Let’s remember where the true priorities lie, shall we.   Tis the season and all that. Anyway, RAW wasn’t bad this week.   It did what it did and it felt as if people were given some room to breathe, so to speak.   It seemed looser and freer, like it got let out in the seams a little bit.   Perhaps the WWE have decided to ease up during this Holiday time as well.   I don’t see it hurting.   The roster has gotta be kinda checked out too.   That’s what the Holidays do. So, for

TLC Closed Us Out So, RAW....Now What?....

A Merry Monday to You, Enthusiasts! Hope all is well.   So, TLC was actually a lot of fun!   I know some people had some problems with it but I enjoyed it.   The matches I touched on more or less made the grade.   Bray Wyatt and The Miz had potential but as I’ve been saying, Wyatt appears to be having a hard time landing his reinvention in person and last night was no different.   It was a  little more palatable but for me, I’m not seeing the point of getting in the ring if he’s not going to throw down.   Nothing is really happening in these matches.   The only thing that happened is that a cleaned up Daniel Bryan “reappeared” and laid waste to Wyatt.   That would have been even more fun if Wyatt and Miz actually threw down but no, Wyatt opted for masochism and then sudden dismantling of the Miz.   The match fell flat but Bryan kept it afloat. Aleister Black and Buddy Murphy were true to form and apparently didn’t hold back.   Hopefully, there’s no hard feelings as Black may h

TLC Is Here to Close Out 2019!!

Greetings, Enthusiasts! Sunday going smoothly for you?   Well, for those of us who are curious, we are set to gather around for the final PPV of 2019 in the form of Tables, Ladders and Chairs, affectionately known as TLC.   What to expect from tonight’s offering is a bit nebulous because there doesn’t appear to be anything really on the line here.   The title matches were held on RAW so that basically leaves this as a space to blow out the year.   The question will be will that happen, though? The last 2 PPVs weren’t exactly bad but they didn’t end on particularly high notes so the WWE has to reestablish some sort of meaning to the PPV.   It’s the only reason I subscribed to the Network but if we can get better action for free, those who have signed up for similar reasons may start to question this monthly expense.   I’m not quite there yet but if this one ends on a similar note, I may start to reconsider. In any case, given the “up in the air” lead in to the PPV, I’m not

SmackDown Has to Take Care of Some Business Before TLC...

Happy Friday, Enthusiasts! Is it treating you well?   I gotta tell ya, this is about all I can do tonight.   I am spent!   Anyway, so RAW did its job this past Monday as Seth Rollins solidified his heel turn.  Yes there were some title matches but since the titles didn’t change hands, that could easily be viewed as a nod to the viewers without the WWE Network.   So, who knows what exactly we’ll see come Sunday.   This is why I’m focusing on the heel turn.   There is a lot of potential here, especially since Rollins is beginning to demonstrate a “pattern”. His recruiting of the Authors of Pain could be viewed as a blatant attempt to recreate some sort of SHIELD faction.  He feels most confident being “The Architect”.   The potential for drama is quite prevalent here.   Will Roman Reigns have anything to say about this?   Will Rollins ever seek out his support?   Will Reigns oblige?   And there’s always hope for the future.   We all know that for the foreseeable one, Jon Moxley

RAW Offers You TLC...You Can Find Them Under the Ring...

Good Evening, Enthusiasts! How’s everyone doing?   Good I hope.   Well, before I get into the recent WWE news, let me just say that SmackDown did a great job of setting the scene for RAW last week.   The show was fun but of course, everyone wanted to get to the dog food bit.   In all honesty, we have to give it to Roman Reigns for being a good sport.   A fellow such as he could easily be too cool for school on a gag like this but he sucked it up and played along.   And if I didn’t know better, I’d say Dolph Ziggler was heading this attack more than anyone else and Baron Corbin just came along for the ride.   Looks like Reigns got the “little brother treatment”, if you ask me.   Let’s hope he has just as much fun formulating a comeback. Before breaking down tonight’s action, let’s just take a brief moment to mourn the releases of Luke Harper, Sin Cara and The Ascension.     Those of us in-the-know, know that these fellows for the most part have been unhappy with the WWE and t

How's SmackDown Gonna Come Up With This One?...

Happy Friday, Enthusiasts! How’s it going for you?   Mine worked out better than I thought it would, I can honestly say that.   Anyway, we’ve got a little bit before the Go-Home Shows for TLC and surprisingly enough, RAW has been doing a solid job of entertaining of late.   I’m a little shocked.   I don’t want to get too ahead of things because this may be the best of it but if I didn’t know better, the WWE may actually be establishing a train of thought.   I know.   It’s hard to digest.   But someone is starting to actually think about the presentation of this mess. This week’s RAW was good about tying off its ends this past Monday and so that leaves SmackDown to match and/or up the ante.   Unfortunately, I’m not sure that it can do that with what it’s offering.   I don’t have a problem with Roman Reigns and Baron Corbin; they probably have to get used to each other anyway so all they have to do is stay loose and have fun.   You know it’s clear that though The Fiend is p

Would You Look at That...RAW Got it Right for Once...

A Merry Monday to You, Enthusiasts! How’s it feel to be back at work, if that’s your lot?   I can’t say I find it so bad.   Gives me something to do.   Left to my own devices, I tend to sleep.   In any case, here we are again.   And you know what, strangely enough, RAW can rest a little easy.   They don’t have to try and sell The Fiend.  Unfortunately, I have to say that was the one low point of last week’s SmackDown and it was the closing segment as well.   The Fiend captured Daniel Bryan and gave him a “haircut”.   Well, The Fiend came up with tufts of hair so I suppose we’ll be seeing a shorn Bryan the next time we see him but again, the general response was….meh.   I don’t know what they’re gonna do with this one.    All I got is that it could manifest into a righteous beatdown at some point.   That’s the only way I could half understand this: The Fiend = Righteous Beatdown.   Right now it’s just, The Fiend = ????.   I’m not even in suspense.   Don’t even know how to fix it.

For Once, RAW Earned Its Keep...SmackDown?...

Happy Black Friday, Enthusiasts! Did Thanksgiving go well for you?   Mine was…eye opening to say the least.   Regardless, it’s Friday and though many of us have the day off, SmackDown has to work mainly because there should be more people than usual sitting around the house.   Cold temperatures and people geared for shopping have many staying in and that’s something we should expect SmackDown to take advantage of.   Not to mention that RAW was actually quite action packed this past Monday. It was more exciting than Survivor Series, which should be reviewed by WWE higher ups, but say what you will, they held their side down.   SmackDown now has to keep pace and recalibrate us for TLC set for December. What’s advertised is scant.   Apparently Bray Wyatt will have a new addition to his Firefly Fun House.   I’m sure he’ll have some words for newly Heeled Seth Rollins.   I’ll get more into him come RAW, but I will say Rollins should have fun this time around.   I’ve been voicin

So, That Was Survivor Series...RAW Would Like You to Start Looking at Possibilities for TLC...

Happy Monday, Enthusiasts! How’s it going for you?   Did you catch Survivor Series?   I missed the first hour and Kick-off, myself.     There weren’t any real surprises outside of the main event falling flat.   I personally thought the Ladies Triple Threat would gain our attention but the crowd was not interested.   I personally didn’t mind it but I think what I didn’t really expect is Shayna Baszler not taking more of a chance in this match.   The thing about NXT to me is that they have to demonstrate that they are deserving of the spotlight.   I hear the praise and the accolades but when I sit down and watch, I’m not all that impressed.   Not to say there aren’t some solid workers in there, but compared to what is generally put out by the WWE, I’m not seeing much different.   It's definitely less polished in terms of the action.   In terms of performing a match, I’d say Ruby Riott would have put on a better one but I’ll be fair.   I know War Games was on Saturday so, perhaps
