Elimination Chamber 2026 - Matches of Interest

Image
How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Happy Elimination Chamber! So, this got more interesting than scheduled due to life happening and so we get to see how WWE does on the fly. They should be experts at it but given how bad it can get when they’re steering, it’s fair to be a little skeptical about how this all lands. Regardless, I’m only looking at 2 matches so, let’s see if I got a good read of the lay of the land. First, it’s the Men’s Elimination Chamber. As is, I’m thinking this is the second to last match. With this in Chicago and CM Punk in a Championship Match, that has to close. And with the sudden changes, it’s technically anyone’s guess how this goes but ultimately, it has to go in a direction that leads to an entertaining match up with Drew McIntyre. Let’s take a look at our players. We have Je’Von Evans, LA Knight, Randy Orton, Logan Paul, Cody Rhodes and Trick Williams. At a glance, I would strike out Evans, Williams and Paul. Evans and Williams are too new. Paul is too much of an...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Hope you’re having a great Friday. This one has been chill for me so, can’t complain. There are some things to chat about in the Wrestling World but we’ll begin with what’s happening in the Entertainment World since there are some trickle-down effects. Let’s begin, shall we?   So, Paramount was eventually successful in their hostile takeover of Warner Bros/Discovery. Netflix basically said eff it and let the babies have their bottles. Given the current political climate in the U.S., many see this as President Trump solidifying a hold on some of the media given that one of the outlets held by Warner Bros. is the news network CNN. Paramount also holds ownership over the CBS Network which has been decidedly conservative.   This will have some implications for AEW but what they’ll be is hard to say at present. There won’t be the threat of any crossover now that Netflix is out of the picture but it’s hard to say if the new owners even...

How’s It Going Enthusiasts?   Welcome to another week. I didn’t see too much going on in the Wrestling World so, this should be a short post. I don’t have much to talk about either so let’s just get to it.   In the Realm of AEW, things are progressing leisurely as the Riders of Death continue to not like the Don Callis Family. They had themselves a Trios Match with Jon Moxley, PAC and Wheeler Yuta taking on Konosuke Takeshita, El Clon and Mark Davis. Davis cleaned himself up a bit this time around but stayed mean.   Nothing crazy happened. They mostly stayed out of the way while PAC and El Clon handled the cooking. PAC seems to get getting back up to speed which is nice to see. The Callis Family took this showdown as Takeshita got the pin on Yuta but Moxley let him know that he shouldn’t expect it to be that easy next month when they face off at the PPV Revolution .   We could call this some mild foreshadowing ‘cause it looks like Mox just can’t stay ...

SmackDown Does Its Job and Follows RAW's Lead to Elimination Chamber...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Happy Friday. I took it easy today and I’ll take it easier soon but first let’s take a look at what’s going on in the Wrestling World. Something always is but that doesn’t guarantee my interest. That’s neither good nor bad, simply the state of affairs. So, with that let’s take a brief look at what does and get on with our lives.   In the Realm of AEW, the “feud of the century” continues to percolate as Jon Moxley proceeds to battle any and all Don Callis Family takers for a shot at the Continental Championship. The week’s Dynamite offered up a face-off between Our Man Moxley and this old school brute in Mark Davis. It felt like 1985 seeing him. He’s just a big, burly dude. He’s half a mess and mean. Didn’t know they made ‘em like that anymore. Looks like someone’s big scruffy dad after a few beers and  sitting on the couch,  ready wrassle. Well, he did plenty to put a dent in Moxley and half did it too but in the end, Mox preva...

RAW Focuses on Elimination Chamber...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Happy President’s Day to those who have the day off. It’s a nice day to stay at home in Southern California. It’s a cold and wet one. As for the Wrestling World, there are a couple things to chat about so that should keep things short. Ready to get into what little there is? Let’s do it!   Over in the Realm of AEW they had their Australia Grand Slam where the Riders of Death were quite busy. The Future slowly approaches but in the meantime, we are getting a look at Jon Moxley’s better qualities. He’s not so bad, just misunderstood πŸ˜‰ In any case, his match with Konosuke Takeshita for the Continental Championship concluded with a draw due to the 20-minute time limit and it left them with a lackluster Crowd. To end things on a high note, Mox gave Takeshita some "incentive" to take him out to give the match a definitive end. Takeshita obliged and Mox officially took one for the team.   Most fans are praising this move and I certain...

SmackDown Fully Embraces Elimination Chamber...and Spreads Seeds for WrestleMania...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   It’s kind of a sad end of the week as a lot of Dawson’s Creek fans mourn the passing of James Van Der Beek. It’s too bad but we could see he was fading fast. Cancer is absolutely no joke. It’s always worse when it takes one of the good ones and Van Der Beek appears to have been one. Godspeed, good sir.   As for the Wrestling World, there are various bits of chatter but all I’m hearing concerns WrestleMania. We’ll get into that but first let’s visit the Realm of AEW.   They’re preparing for their Australia PPV and this week’s Dynamite was quite heavy with the Riders of Death and the Don Callis Family. Callis is growing on me to be honest. I know nothing of his career but I kinda like his Vegas Uncle Persona. It definitely works as a heel. Besides that, I don’t have much to comment on. The Future appears to be slowly inching towards us but in the meantime, these 2 crews seem to be having fun roughing each other up.   To b...

RAW Clears Our Heads for Elimination Chamber...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Welcome to Monday. It’s another week another dollar, yes? Well, things are pretty quiet in the Realm of AEW but the WWE Universe has some news to contemplate. It’s nothing too weighty but it does have plenty of WrestleMania implications and may explain why we’re on the path we’re currently on. Shall we break it down? Let’s jump into it.   So, it appears that getting a hernia is some sort of coming-of-age process for the new top stars as Bron Breakker has had surgery to correct one recently, putting him out of commission for the foreseeable future. As many of you may remember, Roman Reigns had a similar injury way back when which sidelined him for a few months, putting plans for him on ice at the time. It was kind of a big deal as they still presented him as everyone anxiously awaited his return.   Those were different times however, and now that WWE is functioning more like a typical promotion, more or less, it’s unlikely that we...

Royal Rumble 2026 - SmackDown Fallout...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   It’s another Friday. Looking forward to getting some extra sleep this weekend. As for the Wrestling World, there’s not a whole hell of a lot going on that interests me. I’m glancing at it though, but nothing raised a full eyebrow. Given that, this should be relatively short so, let’s knock it out.   Over in the Realm of AEW, the Future is progressing nicely as the Riders of Death continue to wage a “war” with the Don Callis Family. This week, it was a Trios Match as Jon Moxley took PAC and Daniel Garcia into battle against Konosuke Takeshita, Josh Alexander and El Clon. The high points were the exchanges between PAC and El Clon for sure. PAC appears to be finding his new normal after some injury setbacks. There were some nice exchanges between Mox and Takeshita as well as Takeshita has made it clear he aims to come for Mox’s Continental Championship.   The match was relatively clean though there were a few shenanigans from Alexan...

Royal Rumble 2026 - RAW Fallout...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   If you partook of the Royal Rumble, how did you like it? I didn’t hate it but I would concur with the general consensus that it seemed lacking a bit. That may have been due to politics and logistics but overall, a well-executed show.   The Realm of AEW is relatively quiet as far as the Future is concerned. So, I’ll just touch on it briefly now. The Don Callis Family doesn't seem too concerned with being “cunning” at this current juncture but I saw on Saturday’s Collision that they can be dicks, no problem. As for Our Man Moxley, he’s trying to be the adult in the room and so far, so good. We’ll see how long that lasts. Let it stew.   Now, back to the Rumble, the biggest surprise was the return of Brie Bella to help out Nikki Bella for a few minutes before getting jointly eliminated. The Men’s surprises were underwhelming at best but I think the Saudi backdrop had the most to do with that.   Also, many fans/commenters no...

Royal Rumble - Matches of Interest

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Conflicted about the Royal Rumble? I’m not sure you should be. True, there are matters to be considered however, this is supposed to be entertainment. I’m not sure it should carry such weight due to its inherent levity. Why bring the party down? That may be a naive take but I think it is a fair one. Why would you come to the WWE Universe for political discussion? They don’t use their words here.  Regardless, the show will go on no matter how anyone feels so I’ll make the most of it. This is an escape for me. I admit it so I’ll keep leaving the politics at the door. So that leaves the Rumbles. Those are the only matches I’m concerned about. I’m curious about the others and I’ll watch them but it’s the Rumbles we’re here to see so, let’s chat about what may go down.  For the ladies there are about 13 open spots so that’s room for 13 “surprises”. Word is Sol Ruca may make an appearance and there’s talk of a Paige return. I’ve also heard that a lot of ...
