SmackDown Complies. We Await...BackLash...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Happy Friday! Well, there’s a lot of chatter in the IWC this week. I guess there always is but it’s been a bit more interesting and engaging to me of late. Gives us a few things to chat about. I don’t think I’ll be too long-winded but I won’t be holding back either so, we’ll see where I end up. Let’s get to it, shall we?   In the Realm of AEW, I took a look at the Riders of Death’s tenuous acquisition of Will Ospreay and I can say that it’s a good start. The tone was nice and accessible. I could see that fun could be had but it could get “heavy” with the “wrong” exchange or look. It’s all very…we’ll see which is fair for this point in the story. Very good, gentlemen. This makes me generally less apprehensive. You want to have fun with this, not overshoot the mark. We like wrestling but most of us have other things to do πŸ˜‰   Yet, the interesting news circulating in regards to AEW is the notion that Warner Bros./Discovery has no i...

RAW Sets the New Tone...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Welcome to a new week. So, for the most part the IWC is still reeling from last week’s WWE releases. It’ll get over it but it’s a disconcerting time for the fans. There’s a lot of talk of all the ads filling up WWE airspace and then there’s the news that SmackDown is returning to a 2-hour format. So, what are we going to be watching exactly? Room was made on the roster so we can barely get exposed to new talent and get inundated with consumerism?   Should we switch to AEW and/or TNA? Personally, I prefer MLW if I had to chose an alternative but they’re not on TV consistently enough. As for the named options, I’m not sure that’s realistic at this point but if these moves don’t improve the product, it may be an unexpected consequence. Both are still lacking in production values to be considered threats at present but both promotions do have decent talent, especially when it comes to those WWE didn’t value, and ads aren’t taking up half of t...

WrestleMania 42: SmackDown Fallout...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Happy Friday! Well, it was a quiet one but news of WWE releases just dropped so I’ll get into that in a little bit. Besides that, nothing too crazy has been going on this past week. Yet, we got enough to have a chat so, let’s get into it, shall we?   To start, let’s swing by the Realm of AEW. They’re doing their thing but there’s been some talk about Lio “Blackheart” Rush’s “demented” reimagining of late. So, I took a couple ganders at it. I saw his match on Dynamite from last week out of curiosity and then took a look at this week's for the same reason. Commenters don’t care for it but I kinda understand it in theory. Lio Rush is like 75lbs on a good day so, he’s a little guy and that’s hard to get over when you got big brutes walking around. How does this little dude get the W? Well, a “psych out” can work. I don’t mind a person using their smarts or crazy to be believable out there.   However, what people generally don’t like...

WrestleMania 42: RAW Fallout...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   How’d you enjoy WrestleMania 42. I liked it! It wasn’t the best show ever but it was cohesive and generally enjoyable. The IWC, as always, had plenty to say but the general consensus was that Night 2 was better than Night 1 though Night 2 seemed to keep to a tighter schedule. We wrapped up when it was still light out so, guess no complaints if you had work today. Everyone else was free to fill their night with whatever.     All in all, the former Shield members had a good showing. Though Seth Rollins didn’t win his match his and GUNTHER’s was match of Night 1 if you ask me. Yet, Roman Reigns vs. CM Punk lived up to its main event stature and took match of the weekend. The finish could be called a bit comical as you had 2 “old guys” trying to outlast the other but Reigns managed to hang on to victory.   The “surprises” were subtle as it appears Brock Lesnar called it quits after his clear loss to Oba Femi. You could call it a...

WrestleMania 42: Night 2 - Matches of Interest

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Happy Day 2. Well, I liked Night 1, to be honest. It wasn’t a complete high or low but it advances the current state of affairs cohesively so…I’m not going to complain.  I personally thought GUNTHER vs. Seth Rollins was Match of the Night and that’s kinda not a surprise. Also wasn’t all that surprised with Bianca Belair’s pregnancy news either. That explains everything actually. Her “finger” has been “healing” way longer than 2 months.  I have to also acknowledge that I did pretty well calling how this was gonna go. Look at this long enough and the patterns emerge. I didn’t hate the finish to the main event. Cody Rhodes played a little dirty but only in terms of keeping up with the Game. Randy Orton is off his meds so anything is “fair play”.  They both end up “wearing red” but I found it unnecessary, though I appreciate the experiment with character development for Orton. He’s the proverbial lion with a thorn in his paw when wounded. Until th...

WrestleMania 42: Night 1 - Matches of Interest

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Welcome to WrestleMania 42. On paper we should be thoroughly entertained but it’s always a crapshoot as to whether we actually will be or not. Both nights have 7 matches scheduled so we’ll be close to sick of wrestling by the end and then still have to watch RAW on Monday. This is work sometimes, I tell ya πŸ˜‰  In any case, I’m looking at 3 matches tonight. Let’s see if they have a chance of living up to their expectations. The first one is Becky Lynch vs. AJ Lee. This one is interesting for all sorts of reasons, the main one being that most would never had figured Lee would return to WWE.  Personally, I’ve noticed that WWE has a history of welcoming back wrestlers if there’s enough interest in it and in some cases if someone just needs a job so, it’s no surprise in that respect. But given the circumstances she left under, it was hard to tell if there was any ill will. Yet, apparently enough water has passed under the bridge for this to make...

SmackDown Is Ready...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Happy WrestleMania Weekend! Well, say what you will about the lead up, I’m mildly intrigued. Some plans haven’t worked out others did splendidly so, we’ll see what we get. I’m staying cautiously optimistic but I have personal incentive to make it a good time regardless so, I should have fun.   As for the Wrestling World, it looks like most promotions are getting out of the way. AEW aired Dynamite and Collison on Wednesday and Thursday respectively so there’s no competition. On both nights of WrestleMania, the first hour will be shown on the ESPN network so if you got Live TV streaming or cable, you can at least partially partake if you don’t have the app. It should be an eventful weekend, come what may.   Circling back to the Realm of AEW, we got some crumbs for the Future as we saw Jon Moxley take on the “16-year-old” in Nick Wayne on Collision. Wayne went ahead and had his Mother by his side. Mox wasn’t in action on Dynamite ...

RAW Sends Everyone Home. WrestleMania Approaches!

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Enjoy the weekend? I made the most of mine. As for the Wrestling World, there are a few things to chat about but not much so this shouldn’t be that long of a post. Let’s get to it so we can get on with the evening, shall we?   In the Realm of AEW, they had their Dynasty PPV and naturally I partook to see if there were any implications for the Future. From what I could gather, in character development only but this is not a bad thing. It’s still early yet and understanding our players better informs us of what’s to come.   When it comes to Jon Moxley and Will Osprey it is a matter of Moxley being a man of his word. He warned Osprey throughout the set up for this match that he would let Osprey do all the work and Osprey just “didn’t hear him” and did himself in. One could say the match was won from the onset but when Osprey decided to “take his time” as opposed to dispatch of Mox, the mistake was made right there.   Osprey...
