Night of Champions - Match of Interest

Image
How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Here we are at Night of Champions and this should be an interesting night. Now, word has it that we shouldn’t expect too many surprises but that doesn’t mean there won’t be anything to hold our interest. You can view this as a sort of midterm. We’ll see who’s measuring up and who needs a rethink. Given that, I’m not too invested but I think we are all more or less curious about the same match so, let me just get to it. So, King of the Ring. Will it be Oba Femi or will we have to endure Jey Uso? Personally, I’m fine  with Jey because of what many people think. It’s too soon for Femi. However, it doesn’t mean it couldn’t be done. Could he beat Jey? Certainly but should he…not so much.  The name of this game is generally entertainment and entertainment for the long haul. Giving the win to Femi now should indicate a gameplan. If it happens, let’s hope WWE Creative knows what to do with him. As we’ve witnessed, many of a good thing has come to na...

Coast Is Clear - SmackDown Takes Us into Night of Champions

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Happy Friday! Well, there are a few things we can chat about this Night of Champions Eve but it’s not that much really. I shouldn't blather on for too long but it may be engaging. I could lose myself a bit. Guess we’ll see. Let’s just jump right in.   Over in the Realm of AEW, preparation is in full swing for Forbidden Door this Sunday. My primary focus is on the Future and technically what I’m seeing appears to be continued foundation laying. I won’t go into too much detail because the point is the Future but I will say that I can see that the set up is in place. It’s comforting and exciting. I’m getting a little insight in how this business can be respectably conducted and it’s nice to see. When things get going…it’ll be rightfully nuts and some people can get left by the wayside. I can see there’s thinking of how the future will proceed as well.   That said, MJF and Don Callis continue to nail their side of the assignment so, ...

RAW Says We're Doing This - Night of Champions

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Welcome to Summer! The Wrestling World is relatively quiet. There is always something going on but as for anything worth a conversation I’m not seeing too much but I got a few things we can chat about. It’s not much so, it shouldn’t take too long. Let me get a bit of your attention for just a moment.   In the Realm of AEW preparations are for Forbidden Door so you could say the Future has been put on the backburner for the moment. It looks to me that PAC may be in the midst of getting prepped for what is to come but that could easily lead to a clash with Claudio Castagnoli. He may just have some time off but he seems to be less prevalent as of late. We’ll see if they work that into some drama.   In the meantime, PAC kept ring ready with the help of a similarly built bloke by the name of Jay Alexander on last week’s Collision. Jon Moxley sat in on Commentary. Mox had nothing but praise for his fellow Riders of Death so, all is qu...

All Appears Quiet. SmackDown Follows RAW's Lead to Night of Champions...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Happy Juneteenth! Not exactly sure how to properly celebrate just yet but you know, show your humanitarian side and just try to educate yourself. Always a good start. As for the Wrestling World, there’s nothing too crazy going on but I have a few things I can speak on. Shouldn’t take too long. Ready? Here we go.   Over in the Realm of AEW, things appear to be moving along nicely. MJF and Don Callis continue to establish themselves and are appropriately unconcerned with the Future. Too busy doing what they do best apparently which is all fine and good. It’s exactly what they should be doing.   I caught the big old 12-Man-Tag that seemed to be set to put that onery Mark Briscoe in his place. I’d say the best spot was between Kyle Fletcher and Konosuke Takeshita. Fletcher is more technical but I appreciate Takeshita’s realistic style and they have good chemistry so, they won if you ask me 😉   Meanwhile the Riders of Death ...

RAW Maintains the Agenda - Night of Champions (KOTR/QOTR)

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Welcome back to the grind. So…there are a couple things we can talk about in the Wrestling World. You actually may not appreciate my practical take but when you look at this stuff regularly, you just can’t fool yourself anymore in certain regards. You’ll see what I mean shortly. Shall we get to it? Here we go.   In the Realm of AEW, they pulled some double duty cranking out a Dynamite and Collision in Cincinnati, OH. Jon Moxley didn’t let his hometown down by working both shows. On Collision it was all “business” however as he had to have the Cincinnati Street Fight with Shane Taylor Promotions (STP). Mox basically had to finish what Taylor started on Dynamite.   It was a fun display. Perhaps a bit long but I appreciated the “realness” they tried to capture. STP met the Riders of Death outside and meant to leave them in “stitches”. I liked the smart thinking on STP’s part to take Claudio Castagnoli out early and they weren’t af...

SmackDown Does Its Duty. Onwards to Night of Champions!

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Welcome to the weekend! Well, there’s some rumblings going on in the Wrestling World but I wouldn’t say it’s anything too exciting but there are some talking points that have definitely gained my interest. This shouldn’t take too long but I’m not going to restrict myself so, we’ll see where we end up. Shall we?   In the Realm of AEW the Future appears to be in its infancy. This week’s Dynamite definitely had some encouraging signs. The most promising of which being Don Callis and MJF. So far, they're exactly where they should be. No notes. They understand the assignment and are on it. As you were, gentlemen. I knew I had MJF pegged right. When this gets going, it should be a lot of fun.   As for Our Man Moxley, he had himself an Ohio Showdown with Shane Taylor, frontman for what I now see is Shane Taylor Promotions (STP). I guess they’ll be dropping some diss tracks soon 😉 In the meantime, he had to serve up an ass-whooping to...

RAW Sticks to the Schedule for Now - Night of Champions

Image
How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Welcome to another week. There’s not too much going on so, this should be a relatively short post. I’ve been chatty of late because there appears to be subtle things going on but I can’t substantiate anything as of yet so remember my ramblings are all speculation. Let’s get into it, shall we?   Over in the Realm of AEW, I’d say the foundation for the Future is in the process of being laid. Yet, before that can be explored, this young faction called Shane Taylor Productions (STP) is starting a little shit with the Riders of Death. They faced them in a Trios Match and then jumped Wheeler Yuta backstage to call out Jon Moxley for the Cincinnati Dynamite set for this week. According to Taylor himself, Mox has gotten soft. Does he still have the cojones to honor a call-out? Mox’s rebuttal? You don’t want to find out.   Well, this could be a “death sentence” for STP given they’ll be on Mox’s home turf yet, that could very well be the...

Clash in Italy 2026 - SmackDown Fallout

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   A Happy Friday to you. There’s not that much to discuss at the end of this week but there’s enough for a short chat. I won’t take up too much of your time. So, without anymore ado, let’s get into it.   In the Realm of AEW, a couple things of note transpired. There was the return of Mercedes Moné for one. This doesn’t do much for me but I took a look at her match to see if we’re missing out on anything. She’s solid in the ring. I will give her that, but I have no desire to see a WWE return. She’s just too small for me.   Being petite doesn’t stop the ladies. There are the likes of Alexa Bliss and Liv Morgan just to name a few but they are a little crazy or cheat. Their gimmicks, presentation make up for the lack of stature. I don’t know why I accept it more. I mean, I don’t really, but it works enough that I don’t complain.   With Moné, she leads with the prowess in the ring, as she should, however what’s to stop a larger...

Clash in Italy 2026 - RAW Fallout

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   How’d you like Clash in Italy? Personally, I enjoyed it more than I anticipated. I was expecting it to be a whole lot of whatever and if you go by what the IWC says, it was but it was fun. You won’t hear too much complaining from me unless it drops back to where it was when I started. I witnessed WWE produce crap and what we’re getting now is just standardized. It can’t be “crazy” every week. They have to build to moments of crazy so expect this to read like work some weeks. Technically to them, that’s what it is 😉 I don’t have too much to talk about but we got enough to have a brief discussion. Let’s dive in, shall we?   Over in the Realm of AEW, there’s not much to report from this week’s Collision . The Future seems to be advancing on schedule as Jon Moxley partnered up with PAC to take on some kids who call themselves The Infantry. That went more or less to plan. Mox only bit one of their noses, but it was Daniel Garcia’s Championsh...
