RAW Gets Started with Alpha Testing Because Why Wait?...

Image
Happy Monday, Enthusiasts!   I hope Thanksgiving treated you well. For those of you who don’t celebrate the tradition, I hope your weekend was splendid. There are a few rumblings in the world of wrestling but nothing too exciting. I think last week was a little more eventful but that doesn’t mean there’s nothing to talk about. Let’s get to it, shall we?   So, not too much of a surprise, AEW took a bit of a hit last Wednesday ratings-wise. Most of us stateside had other plans, myself included. I don’t watch Dynamite regularly so that drop had nothing to do with me but this is generally the case come the Holidays. Now, I would try to hype days like this up more for both AEW and WWE. I felt the pandemic really highlighted the pitfalls of WWE because with all these people sitting at home, they still couldn’t draw people to watch. I think they did the best that they could with what they had but that’s not saying much. They’re only scratching the surface of their own potential. AEW,

A Good Black Friday to You, Enthusiasts! May you be pleasantly stuffed with leftovers. So, even with the Holiday it has been an eventful week. Though, many of us don't even remember RAW  there is some wrestling that resonates. Chatter is starting to churn up with ideas of inter-promotional trading, as I foretold. It may not get to the status that it is in MLB or the NFL but people are beginning to consider who from AEW should go to WWE. Now, what people must understand is that it's clear that this wouldn't be considered a "promotion" or "graduation". This may merely be a mark of better placement. WWE could one one day be the pinnacle it may have once represented but I think many of us can admit, it may never had been that great a place. The outrageous "pops" and personalities definitely lent to a good time when all the right pieces were in place but most of it wouldn't fly now. Match quality is too subjective to call. What sold before, sim

RAW Has Fallout All Right - Survivor Series Takes the Revolution in a New Direction...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts!   Well, Survivor Series was supposed to be historic for other reasons but I am superbly proud of what it may go down in history for. Last night was the first time that women proved, without a doubt that they are main event material. This has been considered and toyed with in recent years but now, it is official. Women can main event!   Charlotte and Becky Lynch should be very proud. They opened the show and no one could follow them. That is the sort of statement that needed to be made. Now, it’s the best match to main event, not just the best men's match. This is a pivotal time. The women just ushered in the real revolution. We may not recognize the place after this overhaul is done.   On the other hand, the men are probably feeling a little emasculated whether they intended to or not. I wouldn’t be remotely surprised if there was a lot of “discussion” over the content for RAW tonight. I’m sure most of last night’s players want to save som

Happy Thanksgiving, Enthusiasts!   And a productive Autumn to all others of the world! So, there’s something kinda different about this year’s Survivor Series, isn’t there. Something is going on, isn’t there? Now, don’t take this as gloating because I never thought WWE would admit to needing to fix itself. But it appears that it actually is trying to correct itself and I am honestly at a loss. I thought I’d have shit to talk about until they ran themselves into the ground. Now, it appears that it wants to survive. That is a different scenario indeed.   So, that kinda explains things, doesn’t it? They have to completely rethink the model and if they want to boast and gloat, they have to have the best. Technically, they do but now, they really have to if they want to validate shedding dead weight. Let me just say I’m all for them being “Cobra Kai”  or "Slytherin" or however you want to think of it. They just have to own up to it to a certain degree. A person has to unde

Well, I Guess It Wouldn’t Be Politic to Say, “Happy Friday.”   So, looks like WWE is serious about this revolution. I still see the rumors about a sale but you’ve seen enough of WWE to know how they operate. As is, they don’t get nearly as much as they could if they got it operational for once. If they sell, it will be in 5-10 years when they have this shit figured out. It’s an overhaul, my friends. You all know they’re trying to make money. They get a fraction of the potential if they sell now. You all know they’re going to get all they can if they ever do it. You’ve got that intel already.   Anyway, that being said, yes it always sucks when you see layoffs but if WWE is doing this to make an omelette, that omelette better taste damn good in the end. Let’s hope that’s what the end result turns out to be. Regardless, of this round’s releases I thought John Morrison was the most surprising. Yeah, he’s cheesy but he is pretty awesome. Not many can do what he can do. I wouldn’t be

RAW Attempts to Light a Fire for Survivor Series...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Enjoying this Monday? Well, there was some wrestling to partake of this weekend so I’ll get into that a bit before bringing it back around to RAW .   There will be some AEW talk today since they had their Full Gear PPV so, don’t worry. I’ll talk about what’s going on in the wrestling world. I don’t have to stay myopic.   These interesting times are beginning to display interesting truths so, I make sure I take a gander at what else is going on.   I didn’t watch Full Gear but I checked out a few of the well-received matches. I will have to say that MJF vs. Darby Allin was match of the night. They should be proud. I doubt Allin will ever walk WWE halls but MJF may have a future there. I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s the plan when he hits 30.   Have to say I’m proud of Eddie Kingston. With Jon Moxley out in recovery, what would happen to him was a big question. I’m glad he showed he can stand on his own 2 feet.   As for CM Punk, well, he was wi

Happy Friday, Enthusiasts.   How’s it going for you? So, this has been an interesting week. Not much to chat about wrestling news wise but there are some things to go over. Let’s get to it.   Well, at the moment the word circulating is that WWE responded to Keith Lee’s claims of paying his own medical bills. The statement was classic corporate response but many are commenting on the fact that a statement was made at all. Times are changing and WWE is getting a lot of bad press for how it treats its employees. Whether they want to or not, they have to change their rep. The best aren’t going to want to work for them if they aren’t the best to work for. Expect changes to WWE’s operation in the near future.   As for AEW press, Tony Khan appears to be putting his foot in it. He probably felt he fielded a question regarding building female wrestling well but the green is showing. An entitled rich guy can’t help but be an entitled rich guy. It’s something he’s going to have to wor

What’s Going On, Enthusiasts?   Enjoying autumn? Prepping for Thanksgiving for those of you in the States? I’m trying to take in the best of the current times. In any case, I think I have to take a moment and stress the importance of what’s happening in WWE right now. Many are upset at the cruel releases and yes, more tact could definitely be used on WWE’s part but what I’m talking about is what I’ve been talking about since 2014. THE OVERHAUL IS UPON US!   The absolute shock of the house cleaning completely blinded me to the obvious. What I’ve been saying needed to happen is happening. The only concern, will it actually be an improvement? That will remain to be seen. This is the beginning and those who remain will build the WWE future. I don’t think we really understand what’s going on. Yet, the talk of tentative contracts and the rebranding of NXT speak to being proof of the day I thought would never come. The product is getting overhauled, people. You want to help them out?

What’s Happening, Enthusiasts.   So, this is a bit of a mixed bag in the wrestling world. Let’s start with all the big news of the past week or so, shall we?   Well, I didn’t touch on Ring of Honor closing up shop so, let me just touch on that. It does sound like the plan is to start back up next April but that is unfortunate. This pandemic is taking way more than lives, livelihoods have suffered as well and it is very unfortunate. I feel for these people and hope they find their way. They should take more solace in the fact that is more a sign of the times. Life changes one’s direction sometimes. When it does, it’s up to one to ensure that the change is for the better in some way. Best of luck to the next chapter of their lives.   The other big news was that Jon Moxley/Dean Ambrose admitted himself into a rehab facility for what I’m hearing is alcohol abuse. Now, when Moxley left WWE, I wasn’t happy about it but I felt that if the move made him happy by all means enjoy you

We Now Must Prepare for Survivor Series. RAW Goes First...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? So, nothing too crazy is going on so far, this week. Some news that Daniel Bryan/Bryan Danielson was such a gentleman on his way out from the WWE isn’t exactly news to me. Sounds par for the course but the sentiment appears to be trending currently. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Danielson finish out his career with WWE. Seems fitting, especially with all the punishment he’s taking in AEW. I’m glad he’s getting to wrestle but I don’t need to see him all beat up. He’s been looking like chopped liver over there. He was definitely protected in WWE and I know AEW isn’t trying to abuse him but the harder-core edge does put pressures on the body. We all want him able to play for as long as possible and as he pleases. WWE is probably the best place to do that. In the meantime, let’s just let him have his fun.   Yet, speaking of AEW, I was able to catch a few of the Rampage matches after the fact and I was introduced to Matt Sydal and Dante Martin. They had a
