SmackDown's On It. It's All About Extreme Rules Now, Right?....

How’s This Tuesday Going for You, Enthusiasts? I hope you don’t have too many complaints.   I actually don’t have many because RAW was solid last night.   In all honesty, it kinda had to be.   I don’t know if they let someone new take a crack at staging a PPV but they definitely went back to basics on RAW .   Regardless, this could be considered a respectable strategy in the face of AEW.   Opposed to ardently trying to “beat” them, WWE could be viewed as taking the “relaxed” approach.   So what AEW’s holding a stream-free event next weekend, we’ll experiment with the new PPV and see what works.  The WWE can seem too involved with streamlining and developing the product to be concerned with the likes of AEW or any other similar stable.   It’s the WWE and it’s busy.   It could just work.   Jericho’s already trolling.   They should play along.   I would not mind cross-over events in the future. In any case, as for tonight, the WWE has to continue to be aware.   RAW had to play S

So, Stomping Grounds Was...Something... RAW Now Wants You to Look at Something Else!...

A Merry Monday to You, Enthusiasts! So, I wouldn’t say that Stomping Grounds was a disaster but it definitely wasn’t what I was expecting.   But, it wasn’t all bad, to be honest.   Though, notice must be taken at how the Kick-off Show match for the Cruiserweight Title was the best match of the evening.   “Hijinks” appeared to get in the way of most of the show action.   This is too bad because it was clear that people were trying out there but I don’t know…maybe Management was trying a bit too hard on this one.   Hopefully, they realize this and bring this back to basics.   So tonight, we have the Fallout and there should be plenty.   Word is that the plan is to set-up a Mixed Tag Match with Lacey Evans & Baron Corbin against Seth Rollins & Becky Lynch at Extreme Rules.   Now, last night’s main event was one of the more cringe-worthy matches of the night due to this angle.   I personally feel that wrestlers’ real relationships should be kept in the Promos.   It makes f

Now Let's See If Stomping Grounds Lives Up to The Hype...

A Scintillating Sunday to You Enthusiasts! At least, that is the hope.   We are gathered today for the inaugural PPV, Stomping Grounds.   As you can see, the theme is supposed to be an evening full of “Ass-Kicketry” as everyone comes together to leave their foot in it!   Now, the question is who will actually do that.   There are a lot of titles on the line so expect a lot of people to be “thinking” out there.   The prime directive will be winning or retaining the title, except where that is a non-issue.   The few places that could be relevant are the match between Drew McIntyre and Roman Reigns.   This is a “Platinum Hoss Fight” if I’ve ever seen one so they’re going to have to manage just that and surprise us with just how much of a beat-down it is.   Now, you know me.    I’m not down for blood but if they get creative with how they kick each other’s ass, they may just get the shock of the night by being the match of the night.   Don’t be surprised if this one opens. A

If RAW Paves, SmackDown Lays Down the Street Markings & Puts Up the Stop Signs...Towards Stomping Grounds...

Greetings Enthusiasts! How’s this Tuesday going for you?   Meh, I’ve had better and I’ve had worse.   No point in dwelling.   Anyway, RAW did its job and performed the set-up.   M aybe someone gave them a pep talk before the show but everyone seemed ready to play and that was fun.   I respect and welcome the effort.   I was saying how it seemed like they weren’t having fun out there and my point is, what’s the point of this if the talent is miserable?   Who wants to watch downtrodden performers?   You want excitement and enthusiasm.   Well, we got a bit of that last night and now SmackDown has to take the shot set before them and hopefully get a win. To do that, we have Xavier Woods attempting to dissect Dolph Ziggler’s beef in the ring.   And Bayley will head back to SmackDown with Alexa Bliss to share “A Moment of Bliss”.   Not sure how blissful it will be but we can certainly give it a shot.    Since that’s not much to go on, SmackDown will have to be clever in deliverin

RAW Paves the Road to Stomping Grounds!....

A Merry Monday to You, Enthusiasts! Did you have a good weekend?    Mine was better than expected but very low-key.   Nothing too exciting to report at all.   In any case, we gather tonight to witness the Go-Home show for the new PPV, Stomping Grounds.   So, since this is a new one, they’re going to have to go out and prove this is worth keeping. So far, it’s full of title matches so it could be a good place to switch up the landscape.    The question will be, for better or worse?   It’s hard to say.   I have no real speculation at present.   All I’m gonna say is that it’s up to them to make this interesting and tonight’s the night to start fanning these flames. As for action, it looks like they’ll have themselves a Fatal-5-Way to see who gets to battle Samoa Joe for the US Title.   We also get to find out who guests referees for the Baron Corbin vs. Seth Rollins title match.   I think I read in the Comments Section of some site somewhere someone suggesting John Cena popping u

Doesn't Matter If SmackDown Is Tired. They're Here to Deliver....

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Tuesday going better than Monday?   Well, let’s hope so.   In any case, so RAW didn’t quite crackle-pop but that may not have been its fault.   Distractions in terms of the NBA Finals and Stanley Cup had would-be watchers decidedly distracted and that alone may have been disheartening.   The main event delivered, though so SmackDown has the delicate task of not so much cleaning up the mess but re-stoking the fire. Though most don’t have too many good things to say about the WWE product at present, even they are subject to bad nights from time to time.   Last night may just have fell flat.   Not the end of the world.   Segments like the ones for the 24/7 Title were good examples.  It should be played like this but Creative may have to let the more witty members of the roster run with it.   This segment is good for those who are good with off-the-cuff material.   The key to keep this interesting is to keep it fun and if someone can’t come up with t

RAW Isn't Tired. Got Plenty Left in the Tank...

A Good Monday to You, Enthusiasts! Is it going all right for you?   Well, hopefully you get to relax soon if you don’t have your feet up already.   So, the Super ShowDown has come and went and naturally the main talk revolves around the geriatric match between The UnderTaker and Goldberg.   The word is that it was botched to the max but personally, I feel the WWE was experimenting with Kayfabery.   You see Goldberg, “cut himself” on the turnbuckle, leading to the “botched” ending of the match.   If you ask me, that’s what was decided.   If Goldberg really cut himself open and half-concussed himself, they would have stopped the match.   With the WWE under-fire for supposedly not supporting its wrestlers in terms of healthcare and whatnot, the last thing they need is ridicule over letting an old man wrestle after knocking himself silly.   I believe if it were real, we would have seen Goldberg carted or assisted out. Now, as for the reasons of why that was done, who knows.   It c

Let's See How Super This ShowDown Gets....

Greetings Enthusiasts! Is this Friday treating you well?   I’m not complaining.   So, here we are at this Super ShowDown II and I don’t have many thoughts on it.   It’s basically exhibition again so, it’s just a matter of if this show lives up to half of its hype.   I’m not going to rundown the matches but I will comment on a few I find interesting.   So, we have a couple titles on the line with Seth Rollins facing off against Baron Corbin and Kofi Kingston up against a delusional Dolph Ziggler.   So, just looking at this, I get the feeling that the Kingston vs. Ziggler match will probably be the better of the 2.   With the Brock Lesnar clause looming over the Rollins vs. Corbin match, we can’t expect that one to be too straightforward.   I get the feeling the titles won’t change hands due to this exhibition feel though it’s boasted to be a great as a WrestleMania, I’m just not expecting all that.   They’ll have to prove it. We also have the veteran and geriatric matches

SmackDown Is Just Trying to Make It to the Super ShowDown, Never Mind How "Big" It Is...

A Good Tuesday to You, Enthusiasts! Having a good time?   Hope so and if not, maybe we can change that in a little while.   So, RAW was surprisingly solid in my humble opinion and it’s not just because Matthew McConaughey was in the audience.   It’s apparent that WWE Management is taking the AEW “threat” seriously and is attempting to up its game accordingly.   So, the rumors appear to be true.    In the face of competition, they attempt to rise to the challenge.      The WWE appears to follow the tenets of Human Nature.   It only helps the product so, no complaints from me. The only real thing I felt I had to note was the 24/7 Title chase.   They tried to insert some humor into the focused bout between Ricochet and Cesaro but it seemed to break up the rhythm of a good match as opposed to stimulate the action.   They’re going to have to plot out these hijinks a little more wisely if they really want it to stick.   I know the WWE wants to throw in a “That’s life!...” sort of s

RAW Believes WrestleMania Will Have to be Twice as BIG to Match the Super ShowDown!!!!...

A Merry Monday to You, Enthusiasts!  The weekend treat you well?  In my case, I took it upon myself to do a little reconnaissance and took a gander at this AEW Double or Nothing PPV or you know, what I could find for free.  After viewing this, I have to double down on my statement of how the WWE doesn’t really have anything to worry about.  In my opinion, depending on whether AEW can establish themselves in the long run, AEW resembles the original TV series, Dallas so the WWE should simply counter by being Dynasty . For those of you who don’t know what I’m talking about, in the 80s the ABC network had the prime-time show Dynasty and CBS had Dallas .  They were top shows for years!  I was a little too young when they first came out but they're both on Amazon Prime if you're curious.  For the most part they were similar, both featured prominent families in the Oil Business.  The big difference was that Dynasty was the classy option while Dallas was more Blue Collar.
