Go On Without Me... - RAW MST3K Style

Alas, due to technical difficulties, I won't be able to join in the RAW Twitter madness tonight.  TV's on the fritz.  I may catch a glimpse here and there but not enough to comment.  Aw well, leaves me time to unpack (^_-)  Guess there are more important things to do.  Hope to see you for SmackDown. Have fun out there for me! -Nicole Alexis.

SMACKIN’ IT DOWN… What Happened Last (Tuesday) Night [Sept. 27th, 2014]

Looks like we still got a ballgame as SmackDown keeps hope alive.  Though this may have been just making lemonade out lemons, they made it mighty tasty for once.  It was a solid show, with solid performances.  Even the flubs smoothed out to present a well-played evening.  Once again, all is not lost.                      We start out with our substitute “It Guy” in Dean Ambrose set to finish up what The Miz started on Main Event .  It was true to form.  Ambrose didn’t really take The Miz too seriously, as he shouldn’t and The Miz was pompous and punk-ass as usual with Damien “Mizdow” on the sidelines providing support.  Just as Ambrose is about to put a nail in the proverbial coffin, wouldn’t you know it, Seth Rollins saunters out with Dad/Korporate Kane as back-up.  Well, we all know Ambrose can’t resist that scent. . Yet, he keeps his cool enough to get the win and then proceeds to dish out his usual business to Seth Rollins.  Dad, naturally, “interjects” on t

Let's See What They Came Up With - SmackDown 3K

For those of you getting started or simply staying in, let's see how the WWE is fairing given their recent setbacks.  I know, has anything really gone right?  Well, I think they're trying.  After all, if they don't, they go out of business. *shrug* C'est la vie.  Let's enjoy ourselves, anyway.  Funny tweets get retweeted. Funnier tweets get retweeted and favorited.  Have a great weekend! -Nicole Alexis

GIVIN’ IT TO YOU RAW…What Happened Last Night (Sept. 22nd, 2014)

Following Night of Champions , up in the air seems to be the general theme of the WWE at present.  With Roman Reigns out for probably the rest of the year at least, Dean Ambrose seems happy to step-up and fill in the blank.   Nevertheless, I think in last night’s showing of RAW, it was apparent that a scramble is definitely going on with Creative to keep things going during Reigns’ absence.  Yet, it can just as easily be said that’s been the state of things for a while, despite who’s on the Disabled List.  Though I’m curious about the original plan and progression, the show must and did go on in an acceptable if not erratic fashion. We open with Dean Ambrose picking up where he left off from Night of Champions, eager to continue his job of beating Seth Rollins’ ass. I personally love that Ambrose is ever so willing to kick Rollins’ ass all-day, every-day, no matter what.  The only caveat I would think is keeping it fresh.  Would a feud like that ever get old?  Depends on ho

RAW Is a Coming...Ready to Tweet About It?...

Hope so.  It should be interesting, how things proceed given all the sudden turns of events.  You'll get my 2¢ tomorrow.  As for now, let's get our quips ready and have some fun. Funny tweets get retweeted.  To get you guys started, why not take in Dean Ambrose's return from last night at Night of Champions.  It's kinda awesome (^_~) See You Later, -Nicole Alexis. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R68OOn4CAhI

SMACKIN’ IT DOWN…What Happened Last (Tuesday) Night [Sept. 19th, 2014]

Well, well, well…I don’t know about you all but I dig the changes this Steven Guerreri (new head writer) is ushering in.  True, Creative has to get us salivating for the latest pay-per-view in Night of Champions but, I wouldn’t say that was so much done as there was an actual display of clean, entertaining “wrestling” this past SmackDown .  Not only was I entertained and amused, but I got to see that these guys generally know what they’re doing out there. It was nice to see.  Hope it continues. We began the evening with a half-tag team match with Jimmy Uso and Stardust going at it Singles style. This match was to the point, I only could guess due to time constraints. Just about in the time it takes to reach for your drink, it was over with Jimmy getting the win. Whichever, you’ll get your money’s worth on Sunday they may be thinking. Next, Sheamus and Dolph Ziggler team up to tango with The Miz and Cesaro in a full tag-team match.  It was what you would think, cheesy, a

So, it’s all leading up to Night of Champions this Sunday and I won’t lie and say I’m excited about it.  There’s one of these every other month it seems so…can’t get too jazzed but I wasn't entirely displeased with the latest presentation, fairly entertained but not really impressed. We get started with Mr. John Cena calling out Mr. Paul Heyman, wondering where his boy Brock “Gun Jack” Lesnar is at.  Paul stalls and redirects the topic but in the end Cena ain't hearing it and takes Mr. Heyman hostage in his dressing room with the help of the Great Kali and some basic Punjabi, I’m assuming, until Gun Jack gets his ass out there. In the ring, we have Y2J, Chris Jericho, square off against Dad, a.k.a. Korporate Kane.  I read somewhere that though these guys are far from their prime, they managed to stitch together a good match and I’d have to agree.  I've grown to appreciate Jericho ’s showmanship and Dad’s as well.  He’s a heel I like and there aren't too

SMACKIN’ IT DOWN… What Happened Last (Tuesday) Night… Sept. 12th, 2014

I like this new foot the WWE is stepping out on.  Commentary about the internet isn’t completely approving but isn’t that the job of the critic, to criticize?  I’ll say it sucks when I wholeheartedly feel that way but at the same time, I think it’s clear I merely need to be entertained, especially early on a Friday night and more pleasantly than usual, I was. Tag Teaming-it seems to be the fad as of now and in certain respects, I don’t mind it.  The show kicks off with an 8-Man Tag Team match betwixt Big Show, Mark Henry and The Usos against Erick Rowan, Luke Harper and The Brothers Dust. All the while, Bray oversees from the entryway…contemplating?  This was a well-executed match.  The Usos set the fast, fun pace.  Big Show and Henry rightfully threw their weight around.  Naturally, there was some dissension within the Heel ranks and everyone was able to come together and present an exciting hoedown of sorts.  I found the gang-up on Mark Henry kinda funny, along with the 2

GIVING IT TO YOU RAW: What Happened Last Night… Sept. 8th, 2014

Way to wait until the “Season Premiere” to bring out the best stuff.  Wow! I was very happy with last night’s performance. It was what the WWE should be, wrestling entertainment.  It was frenetic, it was fun, some stuff was just plain out of left field and I enjoyed every…well, almost every minute but, leaps and bounds better than what’s been going on.  Though this opener was a bit “Heel-erific”, let’s hope that the excitement level sets the tone for the rest of this supposed “season”. Starting off with a Steel Cage Match was a great way to get everyone's attention and the fact that there was little to no set up was amazing and refreshing.  I mean do you really need a set-up?  It’s staring right at you, shape of a steel cage.  All you need are the players in the form of Y2J himself, Chris Jericho and the “Touched” Bray Wyatt.  Though this was a fun match, it wasn't until Jericho jack-knifed off the top of the cage did it really get going. But the “knee injury” must

SMACKIN’ IT DOWN: What We Got to See Last Night… Sept. 5th, 2014

It would appear that the WWE Powers That Be have started to listen to the clamor for better product.  Also, word on the street is that there’s been a switch up in the writing crew but, we’ll have to see if that actually leads to improvement.  Nevertheless, it looks like Creative took a bit of a step back and let everyone a little loose when it came to being on the mic.  I guess seeing how the shit-talk worked on RAW I suppose they figured, “Why not?” Can’t hurt at this point, right.  And it does allow us to get to know a little bit about everyone aside from their scripted personae. As for the show itself, since the word was out on what happened, I would say SmackDown is where we have the best chance to simply critique execution.  Cena started it off and he got the crowd going.  Hyped up his upcoming rematch at Night of Champions and worked in the Network plug.  Did his job as did the Authority goons in the guise of Korporate Kane and Seth Rollins in rubbing in how they could mu

Happy Friday to all WWE enthusiasts! So, for those of you staying in tonight or just doing something before the real party gets started, let's try to get this weekend started on the right foot.  Let's enjoy ourselves.  Let it rip! - Nicole Alexis @WWE4Life8_8

THE RAW RUNDOWN vs. THE SMACKDOWN SYNOPSIS

Image
My 2¢ and Your Crib Notes on What Happened Last Night RAW Air Date: Sept. 1st, 2014 - 8pm PDT So, can’t say that I was as disappointed as I was with the previous SmackDown but again, not impressed.  And it’s not like I’m over here looking for Emmy award winning television.  My sights are already low, so...yeah... Anyway, the opening was what it was.  Chris  Jericho , good ol’Y2J, warms things up and helps set the tone which I appreciate.  He obviously knows what he’s doing and executes well.  I have much respect for him and like him as a Face.  Don’t blame him for dabbling in other interests but, he’s smart enough not to completely ditch the main breadwinner.   He plays along enough.  When the Authority got out there, I liked the jabs that were tossed back and forth.  Something that they might want to play with more often to make it fun. Yet, though I understand that there’s now a push to re-establish Cena, again Creative has to figure out what it is exactly they’re tryin
