SmackDown Closes the Books on Elimination Chamber...

Happy Friday, Enthusiasts! Are you enjoying it? Meh, I’ve had worse, that’s for sure. Gotta make sure something gets done is all but for the most part, can’t complain. But, let me take a moment and say hello to all the aficionados from Singapore dropping in. I don’t know what adult site I’m popping up on but I appreciate the traffic.  I actually have spent a few hours in Singapore in my youth. While I was in college, I studied abroad in Japan and during Spring Break I went to Thailand and had a layover there. I was with friends and I remember having a good time, for waiting for a flight. We wandered around and napped. In any case, welcome! There’s not much but I hope you enjoy what you find. As for the Wrestling World, there’s not much going on but a few things caught my eye. Shall we have a brief chat on these matters? Let’s. Well, AEW seems to be having a tough time giving itself some sense of direction. Some of the old WWE problems appear to be cropping up as talent are showing up

Elimination Chamber is Over! RAW Shows Us the Fallout....

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   It’s a lightly rainy night in Southern California and the Elimination Chamber has come and gone. It was one of the finer ones if not the best I’ve ever seen. I fast-forwarded through the Kick-Off Show so I missed the Women’s Tag Team match but I caught everything else. I think we got some character development this PPV. We know our players a little better now. Shall we get into the implications? Maybe just a little.   So, general consensus is that the Women’s Elimination Chamber Match was Match of the Night. Personally, I preferred the Men’s Tag Team Match. Tyler Bate and Pete Dunne gave us a preview of the future, just as they were supposed to, and it’s looking quite bright. In the meantime, Finn Bálor and Damian Priest secured some street-cred and came off like a pair you don’t want to mess with. I found it satisfying.   We also got confirmation that AJ Styles is now in Yosemite Sam mode as he can’t stand the friggin-fraggin, no-good likes o

Elimination Chamber 2024 - Matches of Interest

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Did you like Elimination Chamber? I’m about to check it out for myself. Given the nature of this particular PPV, where it is, is the big deal so I’m not so put out by having to catch up after the fact. I am looking forward to PPV’s becoming more global and so, posts will be as they are in those cases. Life doesn’t stop because they decided to go down under. As for the matches that have my interest, there aren’t many given there are only 4 on the card so, I’m looking at the Tag Team more than anything else. Pete Dunne has been allowed to reclaim himself and Tyler Bate definitely makes a case for those with skill as opposed to size. I managed to avoid spoilers so far, being out and about makes that relatively easy, but given that these blokes are still up and coming in terms of the main roster, I doubt they take the titles but hopefully they make it clear that they might someday. Besides that, the only thing I’m looking at is “The Grayson Waller Effect”. Give

SmackDown Leaves Us a Note Before Elimination Chamber...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts! Happy Friday and Elimination Chamber Eve. The festivities have already begun in Australia and those who are up for it will stay up or wake up early to watch live. I will check in for the replay at about 4pm or 5pm PST. I’ll catch up while I treat it like any other PPV. Got other business during the day. That doesn’t mean we can’t chat a little about the week’s goings-ons. Let’s get into it. To start, we have some more admissions on the recent revelations regarding the scandals permeating WWE. Word is now that women weren’t the only victims. A fair share of men have suffered “uncomfortable” instances in the past as well, showing that inappropriate behavior may have been more commonplace than many would like to believe.  Personally, this isn’t that surprising to me. The 80’s were a very fluid time and with the drugs in the mix, sex being part of the equation isn’t much of a stretch. Doesn’t make it right but a lot of heinous shit has happened over the years.

RAW Sends Us Once Again to Elimination Chamber...

A Merry Monday to You, Enthusiasts!   It’s a rainy one in Southern California. One I’m glad to have the day off. Just get to stay inside and curl up with some good TV & a nice cup of tea. As for the latest news in the Wrestling World, well there are a few things but nothing earthshattering. Shall we start our little chat?   First item of business is that it appears a law firm has taken it upon themselves to seek justice for any who have fallen prey to the old WWE guard. They are attempting to file a class action lawsuit against Vince McMahon and anyone affiliated with sex abuse allegations. WWE itself is also a named defendant.   This is not a good look, that is for sure. If there was any hope of this blowing over, it may take a year or 2 if this lawsuit comes to pass. Many commenters feel that some sort of punishment should be issued but the suit itself can be proof of one of the crux’s of human nature, greed.   As much as “championing justice” can be issued as th

SmackDown Does Double Duty Before Going Down Under...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Glad it’s Friday? I don’t hate it, I have to admit. So, there’s not that much going on in the Wrestling World but enough to talk a little bit. Shall we?   We’ll start in the Realm of AEW as word has it that Jeff Hardy suffered a broken nose during the double taping of Rampage. Sounds like you can catch the fateful moment on tonight’s episode. Jeff has been through plenty so this just sounds like another bout of bad luck. Let’s wish him a speedy recovery.   Next item of business is what’s floating around is that The Rock made the call to give Cody Rhodes clearance to finish his story and turn himself Heel to tell a better one. Now, given how CM Punk was handled, I think we can officially just take whatever is shared with the public at face value. I’ve always done this because of the nature of the business but I’m not going to believe anything we’re told going forward. It’s pretty clear they’ll just tell us what we want to hear or how they want

RAW Forces Us to Prioritize for Elimination Chamber...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Kind of a lot to consider at the moment but, only a few things have grabbed my interest. As much as I am consistent, I am a “casual fan”. I’ll always only care so much but as you can see, enough to put some time and effort into it so, let’s see what’s going on.   With WrestleMania fast approaching there are few loose ends that have to get tied up between now and then. The most obvious of which appears to be Damian Priest’s Money in the Bank contract. When’s he gonna cash in? Personally, that may be a twist in a main event between now and June.   Given all the talk with WrestleMania, I’m not sure if they could pull off a believable cash-in at WM40. With so many clamoring for Cody Rhodes to “finish his story”, to have Priest come in and cash-in on him comes off like WWE fucking with people. Definitely something they used to do but with the push to move away from the “VKM Influence/Sensibility” I think this would trigger too many fans into thinki

SmackDown Tries to Smooth It All Over for Elimination Chamber & WrestleMania....

Happy Friday, Enthusiasts!   Enjoying the start to the weekend? Well, I’m certainly glad it’s here and I’m looking forward to some sleep but you know there’s some stuff to talk about. I’ll stop the chitchat and get right to it.   So, WWE has a bit of pickle it would seem. The “Match of the Modern Era”, The Rock vs. Roman Reigns isn’t the hot ticket everyone thought it would be because of Cody Rhodes’ BabyFace appeal. The fix? Have Rhodes “finish his story” against Reigns. Okay, so, when do we get Rock vs. Reigns? I still want to see that match someday. So, when?   On Feb. 8 th , a press conference was held to address some of these issues and whet our appetite for WrestleMania 40 and it did for me for the most part but there are still a few holes in this story. Will it be enough? Many are upset The Rock inserted himself. It kinda threw off the whole thing but I didn’t really mind it. I have become accustomed to WWE doing whatever. I don’t feel it’s that serious to care abo

RAW Takes It All into Consideration Going into Elimination Chamber...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   So, the people have gone rogue again, have they? Well, I am and am not surprised. The WWE Universe loves an underdog and has a habit of resenting what’s “been decided”. Will the WWE cave to fan preference? I wouldn’t hold my breath just yet. Let’s get into this.   Now, I’ve written an article about The Rock vs. Roman Reigns showdown a few years ago. It's no longer up but this match has basically been a pending showdown since Reigns debuted so, now that it’s here, people don’t seem to want it? Well, it would appear not at anyone’s expense. When I first wrote about this possibility the time simply wasn’t right. Creative was throwing things together and arbitrary as shit. If it were to happen, it would have been done to simply do. Probably very little lead in, just a surprise appearance, to some shit talk to a match. It would have either sunk or floated.   These days, some continuity has been established and a “reason” for this showdown has a

SmackDown Wraps Up Elimination Chamber Fallout...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? It’s a rainy one over here in Southern California. I’m rained in for the next couple of days so, all I have to do is hope the power doesn’t go out and I should be fine. Hope everyone is staying warm and dry. As for the Wrestling World, meh, there have been more exciting weeks but that doesn’t mean I couldn’t find something to talk about. Let’s have a little chat. It appears Jeff Hardy has received his consequences for his DUI last year. He got slapped with a decent fine, court fees and his driver’s license is suspended for the next 10 years. It was his 3 rd DUI offense in the past 10 years so, it could be viewed as a somewhat lenient punishment. Sounds like he’ll also have to go to rehab and perform some community service.  It’s probably best that Hardy takes this time to get healthy and contemplate the future. General consensus is that he’s pretty beat up from all his years of wrasslin’ so he should probably get in shape, get clean and assess how he wants

RAW Has Elimination Chamber Fallout (2023)...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Enjoying your 3-day weekend? I’m like the rest of the world and had to work on this day. I’ve had to do that before but in this case it just seems kinda strange because this place of business otherwise adheres to U.S. Federal Holidays. Just not Presidents’ Day 🤷 Well, it’s not the first time I’ve had to work a Holiday. I’ll live. Let’s see what’s going on in the world of wrestling. So, as we all know, Elimination Chamber was last Saturday and it was a lot of fun. I was pleased. It was a tad bit predictable but I don’t want my money back. In most opinions, Roman Reigns vs. Sami Zayn was match of the night and I think we have to give credit to the crowd for that one. They were rivaling Seattle Seahawks fans. Didn’t think Canadians had it in ‘em 😉  There’s some pissy chatter that Reigns didn’t win clean but I don’t know when that will actually be an issue. Let’s wait for another wrestler to bring it up as beef against him. I can see Cody Rhodes playing that
