SmackDown Makes It Clear that Focus Is Now on King & Queen of the Ring

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? I’m on a brief vacay again but I’ve budgeted my time more efficiently this time around. So, there’s some stuff but again it’s stuff that’s pending more than anything else. Yet, there are a few things that I can chat about like MLW. I’ve only heard of them and I assume that Jacob Fatu is a part of the “Bloodline” technically but that’s about it. Word is Will Osprey will join them soon and they had an hour of television on Vice last night. You know what, I liked it! I liked it more than I like AEW. What I saw looked more like what I would do with a wrestling promotion and I enjoyed the wrestling news segment too. Just to the point wrasslin’. I’m down. The action was good and the presentation simple. The only notes I have for them is to work on the camera work. There was a lot of times they had other cameramen in the shot. Makes it clear everyone is new to that, but that’s okay. I like the junior feel of it. Get the feeling they’ll learn. I’ll watch the next

SmackDown Can't Believe It...RAW Actually Listened...

Happy Tuesday to You, Enthusiasts! I don’t know about you but things could certainly be worse in my corner.  So, last night was one of the finer Go-Home Shows I’ve seen in quite some time.  It was exactly what it should have been.  Though some people question the old tactics of bringing back Attitude Era veterans to inject some life and gain some ratings, it all makes sense when you think about it.  They have to look like a good investment to FOX so they have to up their game a bit and too original/new content could sour fans, they’re keeping with sure fire bets so they can get off on the right foot.  Wouldn’t you?  They’ll be time for experimentation, trust me.  The way things are going – not that they’re bad – they’ll have no choice but to implement some trial and error from time to time.  Right now, they’re just focusing on playing the right note. Speaking of right notes, of last night the most surprising to me was the Firefly Fun House segment.  I’ve voiced how I don’t re

So, Does that Mean SmackDown Does the Actual Tweaking...

Probably (^_~) A Cool Tuesday to You, Enthusiasts! I’m not sure where you are, but where I am it’s hot!   So, I have to say that I kinda like this slow burn that RAW is experimenting with.   We advanced the King of the Ring tournament.   We get some intrigue as the RAW Semifinal becomes a Triple Threat with Baron Corbin now having to face Samoa Joe and Ricochet.   This gets interesting because there is no clear favorite.   Ricochet is crazy in the ring.   Corbin is a formidable opponent just due to the size of him and Samoa Joe is rigidly focused at the moment.   No matter what, it should be entertaining. Moreover, we have the SmackDown quarterfinals for tonight where we’ll see Elias face Mustafa Ali and Chad Gable gets a shot at Andrade.   I’m thinking it’s gonna be Elias and Andrade here.   Story-wise, Elias has Shane’s backing and Andrade is supposed to be dating Charlotte so, I don’t see Gable being that over to be considered a “must see” match but I’m not saying th

A Happy Labor Day to You, Enthusiasts! And for those whom this doesn’t apply, a good Monday to you!   So, we have to get back on this Clash of Champions / King of the Ring track and it looks like the WWE is on it.   It may be in response to AEW’s All Out PPV that was on this past weekend.   I hear Jericho has their title on his shoulder and this prompted Baron Corbin to voice his mild resentment at fans who have a problem with how the same thing is done in the WWE.   Well, I suppose the big difference is presentation.   In recent years, there has been a sort of “take and like it” kind of vibe to how the WWE presented its content.   If a good show is presented, We the Audience won’t resist it.   That has been the major difference between the WWE and anyone else of late.   We would get a good showing by chance not orchestration.   Now, with competition brewing, they’re starting to return to the basics and are starting to reincorporate common sense. Yet, it will take time to reesta

SmackDown Sees There's Still A Lot to Do....

A Tuneful Tuesday to You Enthusiasts, It’s tuneful because I’m listening to music 😉 So, RAW was… very okay last night but that’s all right.   It is because that means they are experimenting or at least, that’s what they should be doing.   Expect these weeks prior to the Go-Home Shows to have this sort of feel.   People aren’t fully engaged because Clash of Champions is one of the less popular PPVs so this is a prime time to kick around ideas and see what works.   I wouldn’t say it was a total loss but hopefully they’ve got plenty of notes to work with.   Don’t worry guys, it should get better.   Gotta crack a few eggs to make this omelet. So, for tonight I wouldn’t say that SmackDown has to clean up the RAW mess as so much set a better example for RAW to follow for next week.   There were some long, not necessarily interesting matches last night.   Perhaps SmackDown will counter with some excitement.   They’ll wrap up the 1 st round of King of the Ring with Mustafa Ali fa

RAW Gets You to Re-Focus! There's Plenty to Be Done!

A Merry Monday to You, Enthusiasts! My goodness, quite a bit of news circulating isn’t there.   To start, we all now know about Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins getting engaged.   I congratulate this new couple but I will say that I do hope they have a long, long engagement.   Not to knock the couple but there’s something about this union that I’m not completely sold on.   Not that I think this is a work.   News dropped on Instagram it looks like so, it’s all right to presume this is not a work but it wasn’t something I saw coming.   This seems more like it could be out of convenience more than anything else so, I just hope that they take their sweet time so they can properly iron out any kinks or get a chance to call it quits before it’s too late. Also buzzing about the WWE Universe, NXT is going to take the vacant space SmackDown leaves on USA and rival AEW with a Wednesday night, 2-hour time slot.   I’m a little conflicted by this development because I don’t watch the “Minor L

And for the Second Course, SmackDown Has Some 1st Round King of the Ring Action...

A Tantalizing Tuesday to You, Enthusiasts! Why tantalizing, you ask?   Well, to close this week’s WWE action, we have SmackDown offering what could be quite a match with Buddy Murphy continuing to serve as an example of what happens to “snitches” as he faces Daniel Bryan tonight.   This should be a good one or at least, somewhat competitive as Bryan is some Hippie Heel and Murphy has shit to prove.   We’ll see how they spin this one.   Go ahead and prepare yourself for some sort of “no contest” finish.   As much as this could be a great match, I doubt they’ll waste implications at this time.   Treat this as an experiment.   We’ll see how these fellows match up and if we’re pleasantly surprised with an actual decision, we can go to bed with some sort of peace.   Ideally, this could set up some Clash of Champions action. Tonight, we can rest a little easy because RAW was solid last night.   Smackdown just has to bring it in, so to speak.   Slight miss here and there, but that

RAW Dusts Off an Old Favorite, King of the Ring!

A Merry Monday to You, Enthusiasts! The weekend treat you well?   Hope it did.   So, tonight we gather for the beginning of the King of the Ring tournament that should set us up for all sorts of stipulations and showdowns for Clash of Champions.    L et’s take a look at the draw. For tonight's RAW , we can expect to see Cesaro vs. Samoa Joe and Cedric Alexander vs. Sami Zayn to get things started and the buzz is more focused on Cesaro and Samoa Joe.   This means if Alexander and Zayn want to maintain some street-cred, they’ll have to own their matches.   This is at an interesting time because Alexander proved a fair fight for Drew McIntyre which hints that he’s a good worker in the ring.   I’m not saying Zayn isn’t but we haven’t had a lot of opportunities to witness his talent in that regard.   Hopefully, he takes this opportunity to showcase it as opposed to just take the “L” or “W”.   We’ll see what he does. Also advertised, we have Braun Strowman continuing
