Still Don't Get It? Let SmackDown Help. It Does Know What It's Doing...

Image
Good Evening, Enthusiasts! How’s it going?   Well, I was going to start with the RAW recap but I think everyone is now reeling with the news that Dean Ambrose plans to leave the WWE once his contract expires in April.   Now, there is talk of this being a work since the WWE is confirming rumors but it’s hard to say.   I myself am I big proponent of real news getting dropped in the News Outlets first but…would this be considered news outside the WWE Universe?   Not sure.   That’s where this gets a little tricky.   In any case, I hope it is a work because I feel, though I haven’t been a fan of his heel-turn, we all know that sort of thing doesn’t stay permanent.   It feels a bit premature if he’s throwing in the towel.   I hope some sort of compromise can be reached.   He’s got a good, gritty energy that could appeal to new fans, especially those who aren’t feeling how we all have to be more sensitive nowadays.   He could serve as some sort of counter by keeping it loud and bawdy.

Let RAW Help You Understand the Royal Rumble...

A Merry Monday to You, Enthusiasts! So, how did you like this year’s Royal Rumble?   To be honest, I have to say these recent PPVs have been intriguing in the fact that the concept of the WWE SuperStar is now getting challenged.   Usually, we expect some large male to be the face of WWE but nowadays with the advent of the #MeToo Movement and #TimesUp along with the upswing of the feminine and increased general inclusivity, we are prompted to consider a woman fronting the company.   The women have been very solid of late and in quite a few instances, have out-performed the men.   The Royal Rumble was a fair example.   The Women’s Royal Rumble was a far more consistent event though, the Men did manage to make things interesting towards the end of theirs, it did take some time to get going.   The women appeared to hit the ground running.   Yet, when it came to the one-on-one or two-on-two matches, I would have to say that Finn Bálor and Brock Lesnar snuck away with the best match

The ROYAL RUMBLE Has Arrived!!!

A Good Sunday to you, Enthusiasts! The Royal Rumble is upon us once again and for once, I’m kinda excited.   There’s actual buzz!   And not just what they slang regardless, there’s genuine buzz!   This is promising.   Whatever changes they’ve decided to implement appear to be working and for once I’m not sure how any of this is going to go.   It’s great! The word around the wrassling sites is that the Royal Rumbles should go against type this time around, meaning someone completely unexpected should probably win in both the Men’s and Women’s cases.   If they go this route, it’s hard to say who to pin it on.  Personally, I’d give the win to Baron Corbin for the men and Nikki Cross for the Women if they’re going to do it that way.  Corbin has paid his dues taking all the faux heat and has improved considerably in the ring.  I think he should definitely continue to work for The Authority in some capacity and a good showing could solidify that association.  Nikki Cross, on the o

RAW May Lead the Way but SmackDown Gives You What You Want to See...

A Good Tuesday to You, Enthusiasts! I hope getting back to work isn’t too much for you.   Can’t say I can complain.   So, RAW did its job and got us interested for this Royal Rumble come Sunday.   Finn Bálor is left in the balance, potentially softened up by the dastardly Brock Lesnar and who knows, Braun Strowman may still show up anyway and force a Triple Threat.   Wouldn’t put it past them.   I also heard we missed a wardrobe malfunction on Sasha Banks who got a bit pants-ed.   Heard the same thing kinda happen in a NFL game this past weekend too.   Must be a trend.   The only other bit I thought was noteworthy is that the ladies had themselves a brawl and Nikki Cross sold her character to pieces.   I loved it!   I love ‘em crazy!   I still think she’d be allow to “play” more on SmackDown but she can have at a brawl no matter where it happens.   Small shout out to EC3, his moves were hilarious with the backstage walk-through.   See, there it is Enthusiasts.   It’s the little

RAW Leads the Way to the Royal Rumble!!!!

Greetings Enthusiasts! I hope you’re one of the lucky ones who got today off.   I can’t say that I’m complaining.   So, here we are again at another Go-Home show for the Royal Rumble.   There’s not much advertised.   As we know, Finn Bálor earned the #1 Contender spot against Brock Lesnar now he his job is to sell this match.   When I say this, the real key is making this match believable.  For smarks and perhaps potential new fans, this match-up hinges upon the “sell”.   How believable this match-up comes off is what makes us want to watch it.   Now, this is a quintessential “David vs. Goliath” match.   What the WWE has to focus on is making us believe Finn Bálor honestly has a shot and come the actual match, it has to be honestly portrayed as if he has a chance.   And "truthishly", the only real way to do that is give Bálor the smarts.   He has to outsmart Lesnar to some degree if he’s going to win.   We know the game is inherently rigged, the trick is to make us bel

When You're Done Choking on That, SmackDown Has Something You'll Actually Want to Eat...

A Good Evening to You, Enthusiasts! I hope your Tuesday went well.   As for last night’s RAW , it was a bit par for the course.   They couldn’t give us too much because that defeats the whole purpose of a “Lead Up” but they weren’t exactly phoning it in either.   Looks like they were experimenting a little with presentation and content and that’s fine.   That’s the sort of thing they should be doing between PPVs.   I personally appreciate them trying to evolve.   It’s becoming clear the same ol’thing just isn’t gonna cut it anymore, at least not every week.   It’s encouraging.   I say more of it!   Let the imagination flow. In any case, when it comes to SmackDown action for tonight we have Carmella and Sonya Deville getting a chance to show us what they got.   Rey Mysterio will proceed to school the haughty Cien Almas.   Becky Lynch and Asuka will continue to circle each other as we inch closer to the Royal Rumble.   AJ Styles and Daniel Bryan will start to do the same and wh

Still Hungry? RAW Can Fill You...

A Merry Monday to You, Enthusiasts! Hope yours is drier than mine.   We’re soaked over here on the southern West Coast.   Besides that, it’s time for RAW again and the theme is setting-up for the Royal Rumble.   We’ve got a couple weeks so, we won’t be getting the juiciest bits but we’ll be getting something to nosh on.   We can expect another Triple Threat betwixt Dean Ambrose, Bobby Lashley and Seth Rollins.   As you remember, it was Lashley who busted up the party last week.   They’ll get their chance to settle it “fair and square” this time around. Also, the Ladies get some action in the form of Sasha Banks and Ronda Rousey going up against the imposing duo of Nia Jax and Tamina.   After Banks’ rousing display last week, we’ll see if she can keep the momentum going.   She keeps it up, she could find herself with Becky Lynch as the key rival in her canon.   It’s nice to see the competition being upped in such organic fashion.   The roster is being allowed to show its talen

SmackDown Can Come with It Too! Just Watch!

Good Evening, Enthusiasts! So, any complaints?   Well, regarding last night’s RAW I think we can all agree that Braun Strowman’s and Brock Lesnar’s segment was probably the weakest.   No surprise but besides that, it was a pretty solid show.   It even focused on, dare I say it, the wrestling.   It was a great way to start the New Year off.  Points of note were the Tag Teams, they showed good prowess.   Sasha Banks and Nia Jax managed to make their match very believable though I still have a hard time buying the concept in real time and our sirs in Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins closed out the night in fine fashion with the help of Bobby Lashley.   Some may say Lashley ruined a good match but I think it just adds some drama.   I get the feeling their still feeling out what works with Lashley and it may take a little time to find the right tone.   All in all, 2019 is looking very promising. As for SmackDown, it has the rare task of keeping pace.   Usually its  cleaning up RAW

Feast Upon the First RAW of 2019!!

A Good Monday to You, Enthusiasts! How’s 2019 treating you so far?   I can’t really complain myself and it appears that RAW is trying not to disappoint as the docket seems packed tonight. Of the previews there are about 3 points that I feel are worth commenting on.   The first of which being the return of Hulk Hogan.   Now, for some this may be a little touchy given the audio of his past thoughts on interracial mingling.   Personally, I chock this sort if thing up to being a sign of the times but what I’ll really say is that I’m not all that upset at this man.   Is it disappointing that he held and perhaps still holds these viewpoints?  Yes, but let’s just let this one go.   Hopefully, Hogan has learned his lesson and has a more open state of mind.   After all, that tends to be more lucrative.    The reason he's present is because he’s here to honor the recently passed Gene Okerlund.   I’m sorry for this gentleman’s loss but he was definitely before my time.   Have no recolle

2019 Begins with SMACKDOWN!

Happy New Year Again, Enthusiasts! I hope the bulk of you aren ’ t done in with hangovers.   Regardless , we welcome 2019 with a taped episode of SmackDown and the main feature is the return of John Cena.   Now, I know we ’ re all a little … unsure of how to best approach this situation and I ’ m not sure easing him back into the pool with a Mixed Tag alongside Becky Lynch against Cien Almas and Zelina Vega is the best way to get him back to where he was.   Not sure you can because … the truth ’ s kinda out.   Unfortunately, somewhere down the line, Mr. Cena lost touch.   I playfully refer to it as being in “ Cena-ton ” .   Understand that any celebrity may come down with a case of this.   I believe Kanye West is the best general example.   He ’ s been in Yeezy City for quite some time.   The advent of fame and fortune has decidedly changed their reality and they lose touch with the Common Person.   I feel that Cena has lost touch with basic living to the degree it may be hard to
