SmackDown Sees There's Still A Lot to Do....

Image
A Tuneful Tuesday to You Enthusiasts, It’s tuneful because I’m listening to music 😉 So, RAW was… very okay last night but that’s all right.   It is because that means they are experimenting or at least, that’s what they should be doing.   Expect these weeks prior to the Go-Home Shows to have this sort of feel.   People aren’t fully engaged because Clash of Champions is one of the less popular PPVs so this is a prime time to kick around ideas and see what works.   I wouldn’t say it was a total loss but hopefully they’ve got plenty of notes to work with.   Don’t worry guys, it should get better.   Gotta crack a few eggs to make this omelet. So, for tonight I wouldn’t say that SmackDown has to clean up the RAW mess as so much set a better example for RAW to follow for next week.   There were some long, not necessarily interesting matches last night.   Perhaps SmackDown will counter with some excitement.   They’ll wrap up the 1 st round of King of the Ring with Mustafa Ali fa

RAW Gets You to Re-Focus! There's Plenty to Be Done!

A Merry Monday to You, Enthusiasts! My goodness, quite a bit of news circulating isn’t there.   To start, we all now know about Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins getting engaged.   I congratulate this new couple but I will say that I do hope they have a long, long engagement.   Not to knock the couple but there’s something about this union that I’m not completely sold on.   Not that I think this is a work.   News dropped on Instagram it looks like so, it’s all right to presume this is not a work but it wasn’t something I saw coming.   This seems more like it could be out of convenience more than anything else so, I just hope that they take their sweet time so they can properly iron out any kinks or get a chance to call it quits before it’s too late. Also buzzing about the WWE Universe, NXT is going to take the vacant space SmackDown leaves on USA and rival AEW with a Wednesday night, 2-hour time slot.   I’m a little conflicted by this development because I don’t watch the “Minor L

And for the Second Course, SmackDown Has Some 1st Round King of the Ring Action...

A Tantalizing Tuesday to You, Enthusiasts! Why tantalizing, you ask?   Well, to close this week’s WWE action, we have SmackDown offering what could be quite a match with Buddy Murphy continuing to serve as an example of what happens to “snitches” as he faces Daniel Bryan tonight.   This should be a good one or at least, somewhat competitive as Bryan is some Hippie Heel and Murphy has shit to prove.   We’ll see how they spin this one.   Go ahead and prepare yourself for some sort of “no contest” finish.   As much as this could be a great match, I doubt they’ll waste implications at this time.   Treat this as an experiment.   We’ll see how these fellows match up and if we’re pleasantly surprised with an actual decision, we can go to bed with some sort of peace.   Ideally, this could set up some Clash of Champions action. Tonight, we can rest a little easy because RAW was solid last night.   Smackdown just has to bring it in, so to speak.   Slight miss here and there, but that

RAW Dusts Off an Old Favorite, King of the Ring!

A Merry Monday to You, Enthusiasts! The weekend treat you well?   Hope it did.   So, tonight we gather for the beginning of the King of the Ring tournament that should set us up for all sorts of stipulations and showdowns for Clash of Champions.    L et’s take a look at the draw. For tonight's RAW , we can expect to see Cesaro vs. Samoa Joe and Cedric Alexander vs. Sami Zayn to get things started and the buzz is more focused on Cesaro and Samoa Joe.   This means if Alexander and Zayn want to maintain some street-cred, they’ll have to own their matches.   This is at an interesting time because Alexander proved a fair fight for Drew McIntyre which hints that he’s a good worker in the ring.   I’m not saying Zayn isn’t but we haven’t had a lot of opportunities to witness his talent in that regard.   Hopefully, he takes this opportunity to showcase it as opposed to just take the “L” or “W”.   We’ll see what he does. Also advertised, we have Braun Strowman continuing

SmackDown Knows Where the Next Stop Is... You Coming?

A Good Tuesday to You, Enthusiasts! How did you like last night’s RAW ?   I don’t know if it’s a good thing, but it was more fun than Summer Slam to be honest.   Again, not sure if that’s what they were going for but I hope someone is taking note.   Sasha Banks returned on a Heel-Turn.   Could the blue hair indicate a brand switch as well?   And they’re starting to get a feel for how to showcase the 24/7 Title.   Good for them!  The only bit that didn’t really work for me was the main event.   AJ Styles and Seth Rollins got into it fair enough but when The OC jumped in to DQ the match, Ricochet came riding in to the rescue.   I guess that was to dovetail off the feud he had with Styles but it confused the hell out of the crowd.   I didn’t see it coming either but I was able to piece a hypothesis together.   Yet, that’s not the end of it.   To provide further support, M.I.A. Braun Strowman returned to assist in the walloping on the Heels.   What’s funny to me about this is that the

Summer Slam Is Done! Let RAW Guide You to the Next Stop...

Greetings Enthusiasts! How did Summer Slam treat you?   Well, for me I thought it was lacking but not exactly a bad show.   It was like a really solid RAW .   There wasn’t so much the pomp and circumstance that I was anticipating for a Summer Slam. That’s the main reason I thought there’d be a lot of “last minute changes” but it went pretty much as advertised so, all I hope for now is that this was the plan.   This is fine if it's a step towards a larger unveiling/reveal but if this was all they had this year, I hope they take note and set a higher standard for next year. It really didn’t feel like that big of a deal. As for the content itself, a few segments stood out. As many of you know, The Fiend made his in-ring debut and for me, I wasn’t all that impressed yet, I accept that I am in the minority.   That being said, this got me more excited for the return of Finn Bálor.   I know he’s going to take a little time off and this absence is the perfect opportunity to retool

We Now Brace Ourselves for SUMMER SLAM!!!!!

A Good Sunday to You, Enthusiasts! Are you ready for Summer Slam?   You know, I’m honestly curious as to how it will all play out.   With the new guard of Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff in the mix along with some matches still “pending”, I get the feeling this is the first time in a long while where it’s not about the matches so much as it is about the show and that’s a very compelling aspect of this Summer Slam.   It’s as if this is officially the beginning of a new era within the WWE.   And it is that reason that I’m not really going to run down the matches.   I’m not even sure if the match card will hold up.   I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a slew of “changes” and last minute “surprises”.   I doubt this will go “as planned” in many ways. That being said, that cuts this post very short because we simply have to wait and see what happens.   To be honest, the match I think many of us can agree we wouldn’t mind being “subject to change” is the Brock Lesnar vs. Seth Rollins

SmackDown's BEEN Driving Summer Slam Home....

Greetings Enthusiasts! So, RAW held up its end for the most part so SmackDown now   has to come through and close.   Not too surprisingly, the only thing that kinda fell flat was the second face-off between Brock Lesnar and Seth Rollins.   It appears they’ll handle this as they always do since there was no punishment to Lesnar and a clearly beaten Rollins hobbles out to show Lesnar he should have never laid hands on him, only to walk into another beating.   Now, I can see how this could be a roundabout game of possum but what last night proved, more than anything else, is that no one is really interested or looking forward to this match.   Last night, didn’t really help.   Always nice to know when an idea of yours could work, though 😉 In any case, it’s just looking like this will be a bathroom break kind of match even though it’s for all the marbles.   The hope now becomes that this leads to the plan to make the switch over to FOX or something.   We won’t bridle too much if this

RAW Is Here to Get You to FOCUS! - It's All About Summer Slam...

A Good Evening to You, Enthusiasts! So, there’s quite a bit pending for this RAW Summer Slam Go-Home Show.   First of all, how will the “Brock Lesnar Situation” get handled?   Well, it could go any number of ways but for me, if they want us to stay half-invested in the story being told here, Lesnar should face repercussions for his rude dismantling of Seth Rollins.   If it’s me running things, I would strip him of the title for Unsportsmanlike Conduct.   Have some sort of Battle Royale or Gauntlet Match for the 1 st Contender and if Rollins is still “out of commission”, do the same for the 2 nd .   This could throw the title up for grabs right before Summer Slam.   That could potentially solve 2 minor problems with these guys.   Many aren’t feeling Lesnar hanging around keeping the Universal Title hostage and for whatever reason, Rollins is making all the wrong moves right now.    This could take them both off the table while Creative figures out a more palatable conclusion.   F
