RAW Pleads the 5th and Suggests We Stick to Money in the Bank...

A Good Monday to You, Enthusiasts.   So, there are many rumblings going round in the wrestling world. Plenty to talk about but I’ll only select a few items to discuss. Let’s not dally, shall we.   The first bit of news is the reemergence or Cesaro a.k.a. Claudio Castagnoli. He made his debut in AEW for their Forbidden Door event. With Daniel Bryan/Bryan Danielson out due to injury, Castagnoli stepped in. I’m glad that he’s working again but I wonder if AEW will run into the same problem. True, they focus more on pro-wrestling and Castagnoli can provide but will he entertain? Will it matter? It’s hard to say.   AEW may be teetering on the same problem WWE had with a bloated roster. What to do with everyone? I don’t watch AEW enough to tell if it’s hurting or helping them but the general talk tends to revolve around the same people. Jon Moxley is always popular. MJF has dropped off as the truth remains obscured. Jade Cargill is spoken of a lot as is ThunderRosa. Kenny Omega s

SmackDown Is Gonna Stay Out of It and Stick to Money in the Bank...

How Goes It, Enthusiasts?   Well, for the females in the United States, it’s a conflicted time. The legislature stemmed from the abortion case Roe v. Wade has been overturned and the legality of abortions now falls to the state in which one resides. So, me being in California, I don’t really have to worry about this but the consequence for our healthcare system is spillover from women seeking abortions from states where it is deemed illegal. Personally, I feel I’m a little too old to be too outraged by this. If I was in my 20s, I’d probably be drawing up a sign and looking for a protest but now that I’m in my 40s (yes, I am that old), my viewpoint is different.   There’s no way I was ready to be a mother in my 20s. If I had gotten pregnant, I most certainly would have terminated the pregnancy. And mind you, I wouldn’t be using that option as birth control. It would be in some “oops” scenario. The condom broke, or the dude slipped in with it off or didn’t pull out in time, so

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Well, I hope. So, this hasn’t been the easiest week for WWE fans but as per usual, life carries on. Let’s see what’s going on, generally speaking, shall we?   So, Mr. Vince McMahon’s appearance on SmackDown served the ratings purpose but many feel it was in poor taste. Well, if WWE’s legal and PR team are any good, those who are feeling bent out of shape may want to reconsider where they are placing their energy. In all likelihood this all blows over. If the lady in question has no issue, there is no issue. More than likely, this sort of thing won’t happen again with the current WWE brass so this is going to be treated like some dirty laundry that got aired. Let’s not fool ourselves and think they don’t have tons of that lying around. If you didn’t know that, consider yourselves informed.   In other news, Sasha Banks is still officially on the WWE roster. Could all this actually be a work after all? Suppose it’s too soon to say but I would dea

SmackDown Does Not Recall the Allegations...

Happy Friday, Enthusiasts!   So, this is an interesting week in wrestling. Shall we just get right to it?   You all know what I’m talking about. A scandal has revealed itself and goes right to the top of WWE. What does this mean? Will commenters have to find a new person to bitch about? Well, not so fast.   From what I’ve gathered on this scandal, the main point that sticks out to me is whether the lady Vince McMahon had an affair with is “not whole”. When you start to understand the United States legal system, the ultimate goal is to make offended parties “whole”. So, if there is some dispute, the Plaintiff seeks restitution for something, right? From what’s going around, the lady was paid off to keep quiet about the affair. True, there are some moral issues concerning a superior having sexual relations with a subordinate however, if the subordinate was over the age of 18 and willingly consented to the interactions, there’s really not much of a scandal. The scandal lies in

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   So, there are a few things to chat about going on in the wrestling world. I’m just getting up to speed after taking a little time off. Must admit, not all that surprised at what I returned to.   The obvious news is that of Jeff Hardy getting arrested yet again with a DUI being mixed in there as well. This is interesting. Many would say this is the behavior of an addict, but I think it’s a little simpler than that. Not too long before this incident, I saw reports of Jeff Hardy bailing on a match again, much like the incident that led to his dismissal from WWE. However, the difference here is that AEW let him be. WWE said get your shit and get out of here. Now, I understand WWE doing what it did. It’s the whole, “Fool me once…” kinda thing but AEW is the up and comer. Jeff Hardy’s career is far longer than AEW’s existence. There’s no telling if it will even have the same longevity. Hardy is older than his current boss, to that extent. So, the concep

SmackDown Closes HIAC Fallout...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? So, I’ve got other plans for this evening so I’ll be catching up with SmackDown tomorrow. You’ll have to have fun without me. The wrestling world doesn’t come to a halt when we partake in other aspects of life. Regardless, let’s just take a look at what’s going on. Social Media is spreading a rumor that MVP and Chris Jericho got into it a bit in Houston. From the sound of it, Jericho is saying “no hard feelings”. He’s in no mood to catch a beating…unless he is. I think it’s too soon to see any AEW/WWE crossover, regardless of their hiring histories yet, I don’t put them feeling the idea out passed either one of them. I won’t say this is that but it could be easily parlayed into such so, we’ll see if the story gains any traction. As much as Jericho says he’s over it regarding WWE, I don’t think he’s done with them, if you know what I mean. Bray Wyatt/Windham has been floating through the grapevine as well as speculation of where if may appear next keeps ge

RAW Has HIAC Fallout...

Happy Monday, Enthusiasts!   Well, Hell in a Cell has come and went and it was a well-executed show. Their low points were to be expected. MVP did what he could against Bobby Lashley with the help of Omos but Cedric Alexander fumbled things again. Then MadCap Moss did all that he could to get some traction, but Baron Corbin’s bad attitude may have outshined him anyway. Even so, these matches entertained enough to say HIAC was a success but that doesn’t mean some things couldn’t be improved.   Before I get into all that, let me just give honorable mention to the Ladies, Asuka, Bianca Belair and Becky Lynch. They performed admirably and went out there and earned their paychecks. Nothing to be ashamed of. Belair retained because she’s the new kid but after that, I say it should be anyone’s title to take. As long as the winner can maintain an entertaining reign, it’s theirs for the taking. I think that should be the motivation going forward. You can’t just have the title. You have

Who's Still Interested in Hell in a Cell?...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   So, here we are for yet another Hell in a Cell PPV and it appears that most wrestling fans are indifferent about the matter. Don’t really blame ‘em but to be honest, this should be viewed as a good sign. Why? Because it’s not due to a bad show, just an uninteresting one.   I hear a lot of talk about “bad booking” and underutilizing talent but this is what I’m getting at. They don’t know what to do with everyone. Haven’t for a while but at least they’re just getting back to basics and seeing what works. That’s why this “revolution” is so lowkey. It’s just the truth. What do you do with these guys/gals? Don’t know. So, it’s trial and error until something starts to click. What else can you do?   At the moment only a few things are “working”. What we know for sure is that Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins shouldn’t disappoint. They decided to nail the assignment so that is the match to watch even though it will be the third time in as many months.

SmackDown Lays the Final Touches for Hell in a Cell...

How’s Everyone Doing?   It’s Friday, so I would hope most are ready to put their feet up. There’s quite a bit going on in the wrestling world so, let’s not dally.   The first bit of news is of the sad variety. Brian Pillman, Jr.’s mother, Melanie, passed this week. The vague details lead me to presume this may have been suicide, but I haven’t heard anything definitive just yet. It’s too bad. I saw the Dark Side of the Ring episode on Pillman, Sr. and this seems a bit tragic. It’s unfortunate how self-destruction can permeate one’s life. It can all seem so hopeless sometimes but that is often a state of mind. Let us hope that this gives Pillman, Jr. the proper motivation to set more positive structures in his life. This may be easier said than done but in the name of survival, it may behoove him. My sincere condolences.   Sticking with AEW news, the biggest buzz is hovering over MJF. Is it a shoot or a work? Apparently, he has been removed from AEW’s roster. Does that mean
