Crown Jewel VI 2024 - SmackDown Fallout....

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Well, there’s stuff going on, but I’ll be honest. It’s an uncertain time in the United States of America. I’ll give a little personal insight to start and then we’ll happily escape into the Wrestling World. I just feel I have to offer a take on this whole thing. Now, for my international readers, let me just say that Americans, generally speaking, have never been known for their smarts and this year’s election proved why unfortunately. Middle America has this idea/concept of America that I as a female person of color could never fully relate to. I see all too often the hypocrisy and unfairness. So, when Donald Trump first came through with this whole “Make America Great Again” concept, I never really understood to what he was referring.  I’m supposing it’s some Baby Boomer sentiment of when things were cheap and plentiful. You could happily and relatively easily go about buying your house with the picket fence, have your 2.5 kids and leave your front do...

Crown Jewel VI 2024 - Matches of Interest

Image
What’s Going On, Enthusiasts?  It’s another Crown Jewel and I’m not sure we can call it an “exhibition” anymore. It’s much more of a spectacle now, which is the natural progression. Imagine that 😉 The whole card has the potential to slap, as the kids say, but will it? It’s not impossible. Given what’s on the docket, these following matches are the ones I’m looking at. They give me a lot to think about. We’ll start with Liv Morgan and Nia Jax. These Davida vs. Golitha matches are always amusing because it’s always how is that little one gonna do it? All Jax has to do is trip and Morgan is dunzo.  So, how do we stay invested in the match? It’s all up to Morgan and probably some interference from Dominik Mysterio. Is Mysterio about to get “squashed”? Or does Tiffany Stratton cash in? That would be the obvious route. It has been teased.  All I ever asked with these sorts of showdowns is believability. I don’t mind interference or slight cheating as long as it’s semi-r...

SmackDown Left Us a Message Before Crown Jewel...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Happy Friday! So, there are few things going on. Some of them a little bittersweet but there’s enough to get a decent chat going. Up for it? Let’s do it. So, let’s just swing by the Realm of AEW for a moment to check in on the Moxley Takeover. Looks like they had some fun this past week on Dynamite with Darby Allin dropping from the rafters. Personally, I’d have him do that on top of someone but I can understand the safety issues with that. I also liked how Orange Cassidy presented his case and how Wheeler Yuta used himself as bait. I can understand him sticking to the devil he knows with Bryan Danielson/Daniel Bryan out for the time being. Where else would he go?  As for the man of the hour in Jon Moxley himself, I think these in-between times would be best used to implement some “charm”. If this is gonna go for a year or 2, this has to remain engaging. So, during the “lulls”, perhaps this is a time to show what he has to offer. Maybe elaborate more on...

RAW Kicks Everyone Out for Crown Jewel...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   A merry Monday to you! So, there’s not that much for me to talk about. Things are going on but nothing that’s rattling the cage enough for me to talk about it much. Given that, this should be a brief post. Care to take a little time to read through anyway? Here it goes.   Let’s begin with our brief stop in the Realm of AEW. The BCC took it a little easy this past week as Yuta Wheeler explained himself. That’s all fine and good. I hope he paves a respectable path for himself.   I’ll just close on the matter by dropping my final submission into the Suggestion Box.   Towards the end of this ordeal, I think it’s fine for people to start lightly “Dead Naming” Mox. Naturally, this should come mostly from former WWE stars but it should be kinda subtle. Like, someone saying something along the likes of “I knew a guy by the name of Ambrose who did something similar…” or “This seems like something someone called ‘Dean’ would say…” Som...

SmackDown Preps to Be Out of the Office for Crown Jewel...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Happy Friday! Well, it’s a busy night in Southern California as all sorts of things are going on tonight. The Lakers have a game. World Series, Game 1 is on and there are few other events that have the streets set to be all jammed up in a few hours. I’ll be safe inside but good luck to all those out there in the thick of it.   As for the Wrestling World, there are some things rattling around but I’m only going to talk about a few of them. Are you up for it? Let’s get into it.   I’ll take a quick pit stop in the Realm of AEW as I do have my eyes on the BCC/Jon Moxley “usurpation” of AEW. I saw that “disclaimer” they were using for this week’s Dynamite warning everyone of Mox’s expected presence and I would have only used that in the locker room. There’s something about this angle that seems best not forced. Given the tone of the fan comments I’ve been seeing, most aren’t really sure where this is going or if they even like it so,...

RAW Checks the Passport Ahead of Crown Jewel...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Not much is happening over here. Well, the Dodgers won the National League playoffs so, people are vibing off that at the moment on my side of town but besides that, there isn’t much to report. Kinda hot but not unusual for Southern California. As for the Wrestling World, there are a few things going on. Some of it may be a little upsetting but we should, for the most part, carry on. Let’s discuss, shall we? We’ll make a quick stop in the Realm of AEW as Jon Moxley continues his “SHIELD Vendetta”. All I’ll say is that whenever someone calls the “psychiatric hold” on him, it should be about the halfway mark of this story. I don’t know if they can drag it out over a couple of years but they should try. And whoever “turns Mox in” should be “anonymous”. It should have a “Who shot JR?” kinda feel to it. Was it Tony Khan? Chris Jericho? Renée Paquette?!? Or could it be someone in the BCC? It should drive Mox a little nuts, if you know what I mean. Also, Mox shoul...

SmackDown Gets Everyone Back to Work....

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Happy Friday! So, there’s not much to chat about but what there is, we could go for a while on so I’ll keep this post to the point. Ready to get into it? Let’s dive in. In the Realm of AEW, we have the fallout of Bryan Danielson’s/Daniel Bryan’s full-time retirement as Jon Moxley has declared himself “in-charge” of AEW and is pretty much just taking over with BCC.  If I’m looking at it right, Mox is taking the advice of doubling-down on himself. You don’t find any of this familiar? He’s running with a crew, who jumps fools while he rocks the mic declaring that a new order is in town. Meanwhile, everyone is pissed! Jon Moxley is Dean Ambrose and Dean Ambrose is Jon Moxley. We’ve seen this before. This is how the SHIELD rolled and now he’s got more cronies and way more clout. There appears to be a new “Architect” on the block. This is where it gets interesting to me because you can go in a lot of different directions. I hope AEW Creative is doing ...

SmackDown Fallout - Crown Jewel V (2023)

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts! Is this a good Friday for you? I’ve had better but I’ve also had worse so the complaints will be minimal. So, there are few morsels to dance on the palette today. Let’s see how they sit. The first bit of business is a hearty CONGRATULATIONS to Carmella and Corey Graves for welcoming their first child, a beautiful baby boy! What really stands out is that it took Carmella 60 hours of labor to achieve the feat. Good God, girl! Nevertheless, the new, happy family are doing well and I’m sure Carmella will be resting for the rest of the year. Enjoy the blessed early Christmas present.  In other news, there are reports that The Rock a.k.a. Dwayne Johnson has been approached by a few factions about running for president. Oi, given recent years and with Donald Trump hovering around the docket, I’m not sure this is a good idea. It just makes America more like Idiocracy if we go through with it, especially if he does so with no real experience in the political a...

RAW Sends Those Scheduled Abroad for Crown Jewel V. Everyone Else Can Go Home...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Everything all right for a Monday? Well there are some subtle things floating around at the beginning of this week. My interests are more broad so, if you’re more of a diehard fan I may sound like I’m talking out of my ass but I’m only interested in certain things and only a couple of things caught my interest. Care to talk about them?   First item of business comes from the Land of MLW. Apparently, they have a faction call the Samoan Swat Team and yes, they do have some Bloodline ties. They were backing Jacob Fatu (The Usos’ and Reigns’ other cousin) but now, it looks like they’re free agents. Lance Anoa’i, as you can gather, is a cousin of Roman Reigns not sure if there is a direct relation to The Usos and it appears that Juicy Finau is a Tongan “adoptee”. Could we see them make their way as bit players in the Bloodline in the coming months? 🤷‍ I guess we shall see.   Following the Reigns theme, the wrestling trades are picki...

SmackDown Checks that Everything Is Booked for Crown Jewel...

Happy Friday, Enthusiasts!   How’s everyone living? As good as I hope you can. I am aiming for a bit better but it’s a Tortoise vs. The Hare sort of situation. Got to be savvy more than quick. But I won’t bore you with that.   In the Wrestling World, it’s been kind of a slow week if you’re more the casual viewer. There are a few things to talk about so, let’s get to it.   First order of business is that Ric Flair is back in the fray again. He debuted on AEW this past Wednesday on Dynamite . As the story goes, he’s Sting’s retirement “gift”. As many of you probably know, Sting announced his retirement and since he’s about 530 years old, it’s bittersweet but understandable. Sting is another one I missed out on but I respect the legacy he’s established in the Industry. Regardless of not having witnessed it myself, I certainly know who the man is so, that stands for something.   Flair definitely isn’t in the best shape so, I’m not sure what he’s gonna do ...
