SmackDown Closes 2022...

Happy New Year, Enthusiasts! Well, no one is surprised not many people tuned in for a WWE clip show on Monday but I’m curious what the numbers will be tonight because it does appear tonight’s SmackDown will be live. I was under the impression it would be a pre-recorded affair. How nice to realize I was mistaken. In any case, there is stuff going on in the Wrestling World but much of it doesn’t pique my interest. Like WWE’s acquisition of Dragon Lee for instance. I’ve never heard of him so my feelings are flat on the matter but seeing he’s a Luchador, it’s nice to see that they’re still open to all palatable styles. I hope it works out for the both of them. In CM Punk news, it appears that he is open to a reconciliation with AEW. Given his last few public appearances, he seems to have a sense of humor about the whole thing which strangely makes me feel that I am spot on about the whole hullabaloo being a work gone bad. People don’t fully grasp kayfabe these days. A lot of people take al

SmackDown Leaves Us with a Christmas Present....

Happy Holidays, Enthusiasts! For those who celebrate in The West, Merry Christmas! I can cover the general bases for the time. Why not 😉 The Wrestling World appears to be on a slight hiatus for Christmas, especially with it falling on a weekend this year. I will be in town for tonight’s pre-recorded SmackDown so, I’ll get to watch along with all the other West Coast aficionados. Can’t say I’ll be along for the fun next Monday, though. Who wants a clip show of this? Isn’t that what YouTube is for? In any case, the stuff that has been catching my eye for this part of the week is the talk of WWE potential returns. The most speculative of which being Rusev’s/Miro’s. According to Lana a.k.a. CJ Perry, it’s not so much a matter of “if” but “when” he returns to WWE.  To be honest, this isn’t a surprise. Rusev was always WWE material and though he was somewhat bitter about how things went, let’s not forget that the biggest grievance between the 2 parties was Rusev breaking kayfabe on social m

A Merry Monday, Enthusiasts. How is this Holiday Season going for you so far? Good, I hope. I have to say, this may be one of the more blessed ones I’ve had in quite some time. As for the Wrestling World, there’s news circulating but not much of it has held my interest. This will be a short post because of that.  I touched on the big news last week and a lot of that still permeates. We get used to a WWE Universe without Mandy Rose and we contemplate the return of John Cena. We also wonder if Mr. Vince McMahon will ever openly return to the helm. Yet, with news like that, all that really leaves us with is speculation. It’s looking more and more that a WWE under Triple H will consider the well being of the performers more as there’s not much scheduled to close out the year outside of the one-off on Dec. 30th. So, take that as a hint to enjoy your loved ones this year. We had COVID get in the way the last couple years so welcome the return to old times. For tonight’s RAW , it appears th

Happy Friday, Enthusiasts! I hope the week went well for you. I have to say, it would be wrong for me to complain. As for news in the Wrestling World, you know as well as I do there are at least a couple things to talk about. Let’s get right into it, shall we. So, let’s just lead with the big news. Mandy Rose was released this week due to explicit content she was posting to one of her fan sites. Now, what appears to be the kicker here is that this seems to have been sudden. It doesn’t sound like she was spoken to before this. It was discovered and she was subsequently released. I’m not sure what the fine print on her contract is, but she may have some room for legal recourse but I doubt it goes that way.  This seems more like Rose is being made example of to a certain degree. There was already the talk of having a fan site being forbidden in the WWE Universe. They eased up on it but it looks like WWE is cracking down again, at least depending on what someone is posting. Rose may have c

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Hanging in there? Well, it’s all you can do. It’s a mixed bag in the Wrestling World. There’s stuff to talk about but only a few things caught my interest. Let’s have a little chat about them, shall we? So, let’s start with some news outside of the WWE Universe as word from Matt Hardy is that Jeff Hardy is on the mend. His statement was brief and vague but Jeff appears to be getting his shit generally together. I hope both he and Matt Hardy are able to piece something together to make their run with AEW memorable. I think WWE will always be open to having Jeff back but will Jeff ever want to return? 🤷 We’ll see what the future holds. In WWE Universe periphery news, it’s sounding more and more like Sasha Banks is angling to let her WWE contract expire so that she’s free to perform at shows for New Japan. This is a good idea in terms of keeping her in-ring skills sharp. She’s also about the size of the Joshi Wrestlers so she’d probably fit right in. The on

Happy Friday, Enthusiasts! Did the week treat you well? I have to say, it had some ups and downs but in terms of ups and downs, they were relatively trivial so I won’t complain.  As for the Wrestling World, there’s a lot of stuff circulating through the grapevine but I’ll just pick a few of the more prominent points to chat about. Shall we? So, there are some peripheral rumblings going on that I’m going to start with. First, Ric Flair is out giving his 2¢ on Vince Russo and Seth Rollins on his podcast recently. Well, what he’s saying isn’t exactly new but it keeps the conversation going, so to speak. He doesn’t care much for what Russo has to say. Russo is clinging on to relevance any way he can in Flair’s opinion. As for Rollins, well, he can’t hate a man for siding with his wife but in Flair’s opinion, Rollins has to get over the whole “The Man” thing. I think Flair should too, to be honest.  Most of us know who Ric Flair is for sure, but most of us are too young to remember his gl

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? This Monday treating you well? Meh, it’s a Monday to me. I won’t lie. As for the wrestling world, there are quite a few things to chat about but I’ll just pick a few. It would appear that I may be reading the lay of land quite well if I may say so myself. Well, I’ve had a good long look at this stuff. It ain’t that hard to decipher. We’ll start with some confirmations. It appears that Willam Regal is set to return to WWE in the new year and will more than likely be in some behind the scenes role. I kinda knew it. There were obvious hints sure but if the rumors of AEW management being immature are true, that’s a sentiment I’ve touched on in past posts. Of course it is. His superiors are younger than him in most cases over there. It’s not their fault, have to start somewhere, but that’s why a more established promotion probably just suits Regal best. I’m not even sure how many AEW fans are aware of his WWE career. I know I don’t know much and I’m no whippersn

SmackDown Finalizes Survivor Series / War Games with Its Fallout...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Is this Friday treating you well? I hope so. Well, there isn’t that much going on in the wrestling world. At least, not a lot that caught my interest so this will be a short post. SmackDown is on FS1 tonight due to college football anyway so, let’s keep this to the point. The big news appears to regard William Regal. As we generally know, he’s currently with AEW and supposedly in a 3-year contract but rumblings are suggesting that Triple H has poached him back to the WWE. My only question is will he return to NXT. Regal didn’t have a WWE TV presence so, I would think that’s the plan though I wouldn’t mind him on the main show. I didn’t see much of him in his prime years but what I’ve seen in recent years has been engaging. We’ll see what this ultimately leads to. As for tonight’s SmackDown action there’s relatively little advertised. We’ll have the conclusion of the “World Cup” action as Ricochet faces off against Santos Escobar for a shot at the Interco

RAW Holds the Survivor Series & War Games Fallout....

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Well, Survivor Series has come and gone and it was a good time from start to finish. It finally feels like WWE has found a respectable stride. Thought the day would never come. Don’t even have that much to complain about.  The only real debate from the show is which match was Match of the Night. Most would say it was the Men’s War Games but I have to say I was partial to the Triple Threat between Bobby Lashley, Seth Rollins and Austin Theory. I didn’t anticipate it to be so entertaining and competitive. It was a lot of fun and definitely was the most exciting match of the evening.  I don’t mind that Theory won because I get the feeling that will probably change tonight or next week but it put him on the trajectory to be taken seriously in the future. I don’t know how seriously because though he is yoked, he’s not the biggest fellow. We may still scoff at him for a bit but he’s demonstrating that he understands the assignment night in and out and no one ca

And I have no idea what to expect. But that’s not necessarily a bad thing. WWE has been crippled by its own monotony for years so I commend the experiment but that’s just it. This is a blatant experiment. If they’ve been done in the past, it’s been quite some time so, how it will land is the big question.  To be honest, I think the key tonight may be to not try so hard and to make sure they have fun. I had the idea that they should come out with banners à la Game of Thrones/House of the Dragon but I would be satisfied with a digital version. The real thing does take time to make.  My point is, due to the uncertainty of how this will go over, they should just aim to make a good time of it. They all know what they more or less have to do out there. They have to get us engaged in faux fisticuffs. Stick to the prime directive and it should be all right. All that said, there are a couple matches I am curious about. The first of which is the SmackDown Women’s Championship match with Ronda Ro

A Merry Black Friday to You, Enthusiasts! For those of you in the United States, I’m sure you’re lazily digesting last night’s meal. That’s fine. As you should be. I am no different so digest away. For everyone else, I hope this is a pleasant day for you. It does tend to mark the official start of the Holiday Season.  And so, for the “sports entertainment” fan, that means the tone of the hour is Survivor Series. But before we get into tonight’s Go-Home Show, let’s get caught up with what’s going on in the wrestling world. Been a bit caught up with Family business, you know. Tis the season, after all. So, there are a few things going on. Most of which concern the WWE Universe. We’ll start with some heartwarming news as Becky Lynch has made a sweet connection during her Make-A-Wish service. She befriended a precious young boy with an unfortunate congenital condition and his big sister. The sister wrote a book on her little brother and Lynch couldn’t help but give it a plug. The children

RAW Goes Home to Survivor Series / War Games... Whatever That Means....

Happy Monday, Enthusiasts! I think I’ll mark Go-Home Weeks with that sort of salutation. So, how is everyone? Good, I hope. There are some things to talk about but I’ll only touch on a few of them. I’m picky when it comes to my wrasslin’. We’ll start with AEW news as they had some press recently. Last week, it was confirmed that Chris Jericho was in fact “The Bride” on The Masked Singer.  It does sound like the audience wasn’t familiar but at least he got some mainstream attention. Also in the AEW Realm, they had their Full Gear PPV last weekend. What stuck out to me was that on the polling of the best matches, the ones with WWE vets didn’t fair so well. This makes me wonder.  I’ve voiced how I feel that AEW, though liberating in some ways for those who’ve come through WWE, is technically a step back. This comes from it being a new promotion. WWE may seem a little suffocated by its legacy but it has a legacy. It’s older than most of its fans. AEW seems to be refuge for all those who ha
