Crown Jewel VI 2024 - SmackDown Fallout....
How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?
Well, there’s stuff going on, but I’ll be honest. It’s an uncertain time in the United States of America. I’ll give a little personal insight to start and then we’ll happily escape into the Wrestling World. I just feel I have to offer a take on this whole thing.
Now, for my international readers, let me just say that Americans, generally speaking, have never been known for their smarts and this year’s election proved why unfortunately. Middle America has this idea/concept of America that I as a female person of color could never fully relate to. I see all too often the hypocrisy and unfairness. So, when Donald Trump first came through with this whole “Make America Great Again” concept, I never really understood to what he was referring. I’m supposing it’s some Baby Boomer sentiment of when things were cheap and plentiful. You could happily and relatively easily go about buying your house with the picket fence, have your 2.5 kids and leave your front door open because crime wasn’t a severe issue.
Again, having grown up in the 80s and 90s, I never knew what exactly people were talking about outside what the old TV shows reflected. I never expected to own a home or have a traditional family and forget about leaving my doors unlocked. It’s nothing I shunned, just from my point of view, I had no idea how this would come to pass. These days, my real question is why would Trump, of all people, be the one to bring the whimsy of yesteryear back to life, if it ever existed in the first place. However, as I opened, Americans aren’t known for their smarts. As you can see, Americans are known for their superficiality and egotism. I feel this is best illustrated in our current president-elect. And not only did they do it once, they doubled down and confirmed their ignorance by electing him yet again.
I never voted for Trump and never would, not because I hate the Conservative Right but because I never thought the man was qualified. He’s a charismatic braggart that the American public is just familiar with. I feel if Kamala Harris were 20 years younger and more affable and endearing, she would have won without a problem just by superficial presentation.
As in the WWE Universe, much of American politics boils down to a popularity contest, not exactly who’s the best candidate and this is only one of the reasons why we aren’t taken very seriously on the global scene, at least not in recent years. I do what I can to show that not all of us are clueless consumers but as you can see, I can only do so much. So, I’ll conclude the matter by saying remember that not all of us are idiots. I won’t say I’m the brightest by all means but I do try to lead with common sense. If it works, it works. If it doesn’t, it doesn’t. Now the Trump administration has to prove to us that this MAGA philosophy actually works. We’ll be watching. I’ll just close by saying I’m so thankful I live in a Blue State.
Okay, let's get into wrestling since what’s done is done. We’ll take a brief stop in the Realm of AEW as we check in to see how the Moxley Takeover is fairing. Well, I liked how both Darby Allin and Orange Cassidy showed heart but them being 50lbs. a piece makes it hard to see how they put a dent in the newly renamed Death Riders.
As for the new name, it does sound like a biker gang trying to gain clout. But that’s okay. Perhaps, Moxley could play into this by changing the name every 4 or 5 months or so, kinda like how Kanye West started changing his name. To tie in with the questionable mental health angle, whenever a new idea for a banner to raise comes along, he could rename the crew to reflect the new focus. Naturally, he should be coming a little bit more apart with each of these “reimaginings” but pacing I have to stress is key.
Just to look at things, I would say Mox is going too fast but I don’t know what they got planned. If that’s the point, carry on but if I’m pacing things, the psych hold goes down around the end of 2025, early 2026 at the earliest. Then the tasing would go down about 3-6 months after that then, whatever can go down after that. I don’t know if that’s realistic but if the endgame is let’s say…provocative this can coincide with a certain someone’s contract expiring. All I’m getting at is don’t run out of gas when the road trip has just begun. At least get out of the state first.
Over in the WWE Universe, I can’t even say how things are going to proceed but I’m thinking a lot of fans will be turning to it just to forget about the state of affairs stateside so, no pressure but I’m thinking WWE shouldn’t disappoint for the time being. Many of us are going to be looking forward to forgetting about the world for a while.
That said, tonight’s Fallout SmackDown doesn’t have much advertised tonight. Candace LaRae will take another shot at Bayley. The Motor City Machine Guns will show their stuff against the pairing of Austin Theory and Grayson Waller. And Solo Sikoa will honor himself as the official Tribal Chief. We’ll have to wait and see if that goes uninterrupted.
The unofficial watch party will be at 8pm PST. Stop by if you want to forget it all as well.
See You in a Bit,
-Nicole Alexis (^_~)
