Netflix Welcomes RAW!...

Image
How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Did you have a nice weekend? My weekend was purposeful. Got some things done, watched a few movies. It was nice in it’s simplicity. Now, we’re back in the swing of things. New month, new year, new way to watch RAW , among other things. Ready to talk about it? Let’s get to it. First, we’ll stop by the Realm of AEW courtesy of New Japan as Kenny Omega made his return to the ring this past weekend. As you may remember, he’s been out for about a year with an acute case of diverticulitis but appears to have recovered and is back to doing his thing. He’s got plans to reestablish himself back in the AEW fold which should be interesting seeing how things are going. I’m curious to see how he figures and with who. All in all, it’s good to see him healthy. Welcome back! In the WWE Universe, we all know this is the big Netflix debut of RAW and so talk has been mostly about what to expect. From what I’ve been seeing, we should have a more leisurely time of enjoying the...

SmackDown Helps Us Prep for New Year's....

Image
How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Hope your Christmas went well if you celebrate. For all others, a Happy New Year to you. I hope you’re enjoying Winter or Summer if you're in the Southern Hemisphere. I’ve been light on the Wrestling World due to all the festivities and family bonding. Yet, there are a couple things we can chat about. Are you up for it? Let’s get into it. So, WWE Management is supposedly kicking around some ideas for matches for John Cena and Logan Paul came up as a possible opponent. Word is that no one likes the idea of this at WrestleMania ‘cause that’s a sucky way to go out. Personally, I don’t mind the idea of Cena vs. Paul but it doesn’t need to be at Mania. It doesn’t even have to be on a PPV. I would be fine with it at a Fallout show. And I’d like to see Cena get the best of him but due to being a seasoned veteran. Not because of any physical prowess or what have you. He should just “out wrestle” Paul. Paul can talk his shit and all that. Lean on Cena being ol...

RAW Bids Us a Merry Christmas!....

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   It’s a cold one in Southern California but nothing that those used to snow couldn’t handle. As for the Wrestling World, there’s some stuff going on but what caught my eye is more administrative. Some insight on how 2025 is gonna go. Are you up for a brief discussion? Let’s see where it goes.   We’ll stay in the WWE Universe for now as AEW’s stuff appears to be percolating. There’s an “update” on Brock Lesnar’s status going around making it seem like he’s on an unofficial retirement. Given the dirt that came up on him, it’s not surprising. You see how everyone is getting theirs for past unsavory behavior. I think he would have gotten more clemency if he was a more approachable person. His rep, in general, isn’t the best so, when dirt comes out, it’s easy to close the book on him. I don’t really think he’s needed anymore, to be honest. There was a time he served a purpose but now that WWE is finding a more engaging stride, Lesnar can...

SmackDown Wishes us a Happy Holiday & Has Some Saturday Main Event Fallout....

Image
How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?  Enjoying the calm before Christmas? For the stateside readers, how do you like the rise in egg prices again 🙃 I saw one of those 60-egg crates going for about $40 🤯 Yup, just another day in paradise.  As for the Wrestling World, there’s quite a bit to chat about today. A lot going on with the Holidays and such along with anticipation for the new year. Shall we break it down? Let’s. We'll stop at the Realm of AEW for a bit since word spread of the  banger Will Osprey and Darby Allin put on this past Wednesday at AEW’s Continental Classic. So, I had to sit down and take a look. I have to concur, it was a fine a match. Allin is definitely growing on me. I can’t see him working outside of AEW, due to his size, but he’s got moxie. Gotta give it to him. He was pulling off very slick moves against Osprey. Just putting that lean frame to full use.  Osprey seemed to be going with the flow more than usual, I’ll give him that. It was defin...

Saturday Night: Main Event (1) - RAW Fallout...

Image
How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Welcome to a new week. So, there’s quite a bit in motion/going on. I would say it was a successful weekend for WWE and AEW seems 2 making their stuff work. Shall we have a chat about it? Let’s… First up, we’ll stop in the Realm of AEW as we see Jon Moxley and Company “dial it down” a bit and decide to jump/semi-kidnap FTR. See, that’s what I’m talking about. Have some fun. Get crazy! Give us something to watch. Not sure what the endgame is exactly, but at this point, there’s time to flesh it out. I’ll be sure to check out this “epic” Fatal-4-Way getting set-up once it’s filed away. Keep things simple for now and just go out, get nuts and have fun. If it entertains, it entertains. Don’t overthink it. Most of us aren’t that invested but we will bitch if we’re not entertained. In the WWE Universe, there are a few points of discussion. The Saturday Night: Main Event went off without a hitch and it was a fine night of wrestling. No real upsets but as we all kno...

Saturday Night: Main Event - Matches of Interest

Image
How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Here’s to the reboot of Saturday Night: Main Event! I have no recollection of the original but I hear that there will be a lot of nods 2 the old school presentation. I have no problem with it. Kinda looking forward to it, even though I think the 80s was the tackiest decade ever. Taste was an afterthought. I hated every second of it but, it wasn’t all bad. I’ll accept the nostalgia.   Since this is like a free PPV, I’ll have Matches of Interest, but I’ll keep it short. It’s only a 2-hour show. The first one I’m looking at is Sami Zayn vs. Drew McIntyre. I could look at the Kevin Owens vs. Cody Rhodes but that doesn’t have the stakes that Zayn vs. McIntyre does. In this case, McIntyre needs the win.   McIntyre is faux shooting interviews and moping around. He’s method acting himself and I like it. There was something missing and maybe going back home helped address it, but whatever it is, it’s working and I think he should just le...

SmackDown Hosts the Dress Rehearsal for Saturday Night Main Event...

Image
How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Enjoying your Friday? I hope so. I have some self-care plans for the weekend so, why not start now. As for the Wrestling World, there are some things we can chat about. Not much has me captivated but we can have a decent conversation nonetheless. Are you up for it? Let’s do it. First, we’ll take a brief look at the Realm of AEW to see how Jon Moxley and crew took last week’s notes. Well, this week’s efforts were definitely more entertaining, I’ll give ‘em that. Mox was slipping into…familiar tones if I may say. All I’ll add is remember the timing. Though I love to see Dean Ambrose break through, I hope Mox paces himself.  If something “epic” is in the works, not popping off too soon is critical. Unless, he manages to make that part of the whole thing. Not impossible but this is new territory. Best not to get too experimental. But do have fun and push boundaries. What I saw was fun but it could lead to “dissension”. Only go there if the story is fleshed ...

RAW Clears the Decks for the Main Event...

Image
How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Having a fair Monday? Mine is pretty chill, to be honest. Usually a lot more going on but I’m not complaining. As for the Wrestling World, there are some things going on. Nothing to set hair on fire but enough to have a decent chat. You up for it? All right, here it goes. In the Realm of AEW, the Death Riders seem to be having a little problem with getting taken seriously. I saw Jon Moxley and company try to “poison” Orange Cassidy with Listerine and I can see why people are rolling their eyes. This is why I was suggesting things like sending Darby Allin to “Abu Dhabi”. Orange Cassidy can get boxed up and sent off instead if they like. It could be a running bit that no one can get a hold of him for a week or 2 and then he can surprise at the PPV or crash one of the Go-Home Shows looking like hell ‘cause he had to “hitchhike” his way back to the States. They can even dramatize his trials for a promo or something. The whole thing is ridiculous so they might ...

Survivor Series / War Games - RAW Fallout 2024

Image
How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   How’s it feel to be back in the swing of things? That’s for my stateside readers. For the international ones, a merry Monday to you. I hope you had a good one. Mine was busy, naturally. Everything picking back up from where we left off. As for the Wrestling World, we had a fine Survivor Series this past weekend so, without any further ado, let’s do a brief review.   Some people always gripe but I found this year’s Survivor Series was a very solid show. Sure, there were some hokey moments here and there but that comes with the territory. As far as the IWC is concerned, Match of the Night went to the Bloodline Civil War / War Games. CM Punk proved his worth but coming out and showing us how we’re supposed to go at this. Sure, it’s for play-play but it’s a competition nonetheless. Nothing wrong with some gnashed teeth. The Intercontinental Championship Triple Threat took silver with the Ladies’ War Games closing out the podium with bronze. ...

SmackDown Places the Final Touches for Survivor Series / War Games....

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? For those who celebrated, did you enjoy Thanksgiving? Have to say that it was all that it should have been for my set, food, family and friends. It was a successful evening if I may say so myself. Given the holiday vibes, this post will be brief but we can kick around a few things. Let’s get to it. So, we’ll skip the Realm of AEW this week as they appear to be laying the foundation for bigger and better things for the time being and so we’ll leave them to it. As for the WWE Universe, there appears to be a few things going on. It is Go-Home week despite the holiday. Cody Rhodes got some visibility as he was a guest on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon this week. Fallon is a WWE affiliation as he tends to always welcome its stars on the show. Looks like it was Rhodes’ turn this time. He managed to get some digs on Kevin Owens while promoting this weekend’s PPV.  On the grapevine, there’s word that the plan for bringing Drew McIntyre back to the fold is ...

SmackDown Returns to Live Action for War Games / Survivor Series....

Image
How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? How’d the week treat you? Meh, it wasn’t that exciting on my end but as usual, just glad it’s over. As for the Wrestling World there are some grumblings but per usual, not that it moved me much, but we have a few things to kick around. Ready? Here we go. First, we’ll stop in the Realm of AEW and check in on this Death Riders Domination. I guess the bigger news is that Toni Storm is “retiring” from pro-wrestling. Given the nature of this disclosure, it’s pretty clear it’s a work of some sort so, we’ll let the lady do her thing.  As for Jon Moxley’s crew, I like how both Darby Allin and Orange Cassidy are doing what they can to slow down their train. Someone has to 😉 Yet, in both cases, my case and point was kinda proven. Regardless, I’ll just start with how both Allin and Cassidy are proving their chops and kinda growing on me in the process. Allin, though a solid 45lbs. wet, just won’t quit and Cassidy is a solid worker. He may have made it up t...
