SmackDown Closes HIAC Fallout...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? So, I’ve got other plans for this evening so I’ll be catching up with SmackDown tomorrow. You’ll have to have fun without me. The wrestling world doesn’t come to a halt when we partake in other aspects of life. Regardless, let’s just take a look at what’s going on. Social Media is spreading a rumor that MVP and Chris Jericho got into it a bit in Houston. From the sound of it, Jericho is saying “no hard feelings”. He’s in no mood to catch a beating…unless he is. I think it’s too soon to see any AEW/WWE crossover, regardless of their hiring histories yet, I don’t put them feeling the idea out passed either one of them. I won’t say this is that but it could be easily parlayed into such so, we’ll see if the story gains any traction. As much as Jericho says he’s over it regarding WWE, I don’t think he’s done with them, if you know what I mean. Bray Wyatt/Windham has been floating through the grapevine as well as speculation of where if may appear next keeps ge

Who's Still Interested in Hell in a Cell?...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   So, here we are for yet another Hell in a Cell PPV and it appears that most wrestling fans are indifferent about the matter. Don’t really blame ‘em but to be honest, this should be viewed as a good sign. Why? Because it’s not due to a bad show, just an uninteresting one.   I hear a lot of talk about “bad booking” and underutilizing talent but this is what I’m getting at. They don’t know what to do with everyone. Haven’t for a while but at least they’re just getting back to basics and seeing what works. That’s why this “revolution” is so lowkey. It’s just the truth. What do you do with these guys/gals? Don’t know. So, it’s trial and error until something starts to click. What else can you do?   At the moment only a few things are “working”. What we know for sure is that Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins shouldn’t disappoint. They decided to nail the assignment so that is the match to watch even though it will be the third time in as many months.

SmackDown Lays the Final Touches for Hell in a Cell...

How’s Everyone Doing?   It’s Friday, so I would hope most are ready to put their feet up. There’s quite a bit going on in the wrestling world so, let’s not dally.   The first bit of news is of the sad variety. Brian Pillman, Jr.’s mother, Melanie, passed this week. The vague details lead me to presume this may have been suicide, but I haven’t heard anything definitive just yet. It’s too bad. I saw the Dark Side of the Ring episode on Pillman, Sr. and this seems a bit tragic. It’s unfortunate how self-destruction can permeate one’s life. It can all seem so hopeless sometimes but that is often a state of mind. Let us hope that this gives Pillman, Jr. the proper motivation to set more positive structures in his life. This may be easier said than done but in the name of survival, it may behoove him. My sincere condolences.   Sticking with AEW news, the biggest buzz is hovering over MJF. Is it a shoot or a work? Apparently, he has been removed from AEW’s roster. Does that mean

It's Hell in a Cell in June...

What’s Going On, Enthusiasts?   You ready for this early Hell in a Cell PPV? I’m not going to lie and say I’m hopping with anticipation but I’m going to watch it like always. No biggie.     Per usual, I’ll just talk a little about matches of interest and then we see what they actually do with it. The first match that comes to mind is Shayna Baszler vs. Alexa Bliss. Now, this could go horribly bad or surprisingly well. Don’t think I want this to fail. There’s just a way to do things. If someone is innovative and accounts for the crucial aspects, great! Anything is possible. It just wasn’t achieved with The Fiend angle. It’s a horror flick gimmick, not a wrestling gimmick. It’s too hard to make it work in real time. Can’t suspend the disbelief. Where Bliss is going right is that she’s more some crazy bitch playing with Witchcraft. There are too many paranormal shows on to not think there’s some truth to playing with “doors”. We can buy she’s fucking with something. Bray Wyatt, ju

SmackDown Goes Home for Hell in a Cell...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Enjoying your, Friday? I hope so. I have a lot on my plate this weekend but that doesn’t stop me from taking a break for some wrassling. There’s quite a bit to talk about this week. Let’s get into some of the more buzzworthy items.   So, let’s start with the downer first. The documentary on Chyna is out on Vice and I can’t bring myself to watch it. Not sure I ever will. It’s just too sad. She was an unfortunate consequence of the machinations of WWE. I respect that the she should be remembered but, man. The story is depressing. I’d just rather not. Mick Foley gives it his mark of approval though.   In happier news, both Renée Paquette and Brandi Rhodes bore their daughters this week. Congratulations to them both. I won’t presume they’ll grow up to be best friends but their connection will be undeniable regardless. May they be prosperous and healthy.   On the business side of things, the rumor is that USA Network isn’t too pleased with WWE

RAW Reminds Us It's the Go-Home Show for HIAC...

A Good Monday to You, Enthusiasts!   There are some interesting rumblings in the wrestling world today. Some you may find more promising than others. Nevertheless, it’s probably good to be aware of what’s making the rounds on the grapevine. Let’s get into it, shall we?   So, Eric Bischoff is pretty much done with wrestling. He’s not bitter about it or anything he’s just kinda over it. He’s been doing it for the better part of his life and he is simply realizing that there is more to life than wrestling. He’ll peek back in from time to time but for what it’s worth, he’s through. Well, I only knew of the man though the biographies and the Dark Side of the Ring episodes have filled in some blanks. I wasn’t really aware of the man when he was in his heyday but I do know that he has made innumerable contributions to the industry and his service is respected and valued. I think he’s earned the right to do something else. I hope he fills his days with whatever keeps him happy.   T

Hell in a Cell 2020 - No Matter How You Cut It, It's a Doozy...

How Is Everyone This Sunday? Ready for Hell in a Cell? Well, I can’t say I’m not curious. Yet, as usual, I won’t speculate too much on what may happen but I’m sure we’re curious about the same matches. So, to get right into it, the first match of interest is Sasha Banks and Bayley.   Since they haven’t had much actual wrestling time, I’ll be looking to see if they come off rusty. I don’t expect a bad match but since this has been so heavily acted, this may become more of a spectacle than a match. This is not a bad thing if they keep it entertaining. I’m anticipating a lot of weaponry is going to be used, chairs, kendo sticks, someone may go through a table. It doesn’t matter who wins though, if Bayley retains, I hope there’s a long term plan for her.   This past week’s SmackDown was very promising. One of the better shows they’ve had in quite some time. It looks like the word to push back is getting to the wrestlers and who can blame them? Who wants to look bad in public? Hopefull

SmackDown Brings It Home. You Know, Because Hell in a Cell Awaits...

A Good Friday to You, Enthusiasts! How are you doing?   Well, I continue to not complain…I’m actually acclimating to quarantine life.   Miss doing stuff, though.   I’ll admit that.   I like county fairs. Anyway, back to the WWE Universe. In all honesty, a lot of the talk will be about AEW.   Let’s not lie and say the 2 aren’t affiliated.   As much as Chris Jericho and all others who feel disillusioned with WWE continue to talk their shit, they all can’t deny they’d probably come back under the right offer.   In Jericho’s case, he’d have to have creative control.   Yet, news wise, a few things popped up.   First let’s get to the not so flattering stuff.    AEW showed themselves to be a little sloppy this week.   An Alex Reynolds got knocked out during an 8-Man-Tag and the ref failed to notice .   Tsk-tsk-tsk.   They should be more careful about stuff like that.   I’m not sure where one goes to acquire a pro-wrestling referee but they may want to either better train theirs or look fo

RAW Demands Everyone Go Home for Hell in a Cell! Not Sure How to Respond Since We're Already There...

Hello Enthusiasts! How is this Monday treating everyone?   You know I always wish you well.   So…let’s see what’s circulating shall we?   It’s a little female focused this Monday. To start, Ms. Charlotte Flair made a business move.   She’s been out since July recovering from surgery and avoiding COVID exposure.   That doesn’t mean she can’t attend to other business in the meantime.   She has signed with a sports-oriented agency, VarnerSports.   There have been rumblings that she may branch out into more creative avenues in television and film, this may assist in making that a reality.   There’s also speculation that they will be involved in any subsequent contract negotiations with WWE.   We’ll see if this is the smart business strategy it’s supposed to be.   The other Horsewoman on the bench, Becky Lynch, also has some rumors floating around concerning her timeline back to the ring.   It was reported that she was backstage for last week’s SmackDown .   The word is that managemen

RAW Will Conclude the Draft - Does that Mean the Script Will Get Better?....

A Good Monday to You, Enthusiasts! If you’re in California, you’re probably enduring a little Autumn heat.   I’m sure everyone else is starting to settle into fall weather.   Regardless, let’s take a look what’s going on in the WWE Universe.   The weather is always “temperate” there. So, word is Eva Marie may return to the WWE.   What better example of the High School nature of the WWE Universe.   Now, I recall hearing about Eva Marie training for a return a while ago so, maybe she picked up some skills during that time yet, I understand the general chagrin.   Don’t overestimate the WWE Universe; it’s always been this way.   It’s more concerned with what sells, not necessarily the best wrestlers.   That’s why some hottie can waltz in and start right at the top.   Understand the WWE Universe’s prime directive, appeal to a general audience.   They want to pull in Joe/Jill Schmoes who are curious about this world.   Sex appeal tends to keep people coming back, even though it may be fo

Script Is Getting Flipped - It's the WWE Draft on SmackDown...

Happy Friday, Enthusiasts! How’s everyone doing?   Well, when it comes to the WWE Universe there appears to be a lot going on.   Tonight marks the first night of the WWE Draft.    The RAW and SmackDown (maybe even NXT) brands get shuffled up in the hopes of shaking up the action.     We all know they need to do more than just shuffle up the rosters but this is always a good start.   Yet, before we get into all that, let’s take a look at some other news circulating.   Matt Riddle has more problems.   His accuser, Candi Cartwright, has thrown down the legal gauntlet.   She's suing WWE, Matt Riddle, Evolve and a Gabe Sapolsky for $10 million each.   Yowzers.   Well, her allegations aren’t flattering.   I’m thinking this may get settled out of court but I don’t know what that’s going to do to Riddle.   Her claims are very damning.    With WWE chock full of other problems, they may just cut their losses with him or give him some behind the scenes position.    Wouldn’t be surprised i
