SmackDown Rolls Like Rules Are Always Extreme

A Tasty Tuesday to You, Enthusiasts! Why “tasty” you ask…because it starts with “T” 😉 So, we gather tonight to watch SmackDown’s Extreme Rules fallout show and it appears that we’ll have ourselves a Town Hall meeting hosted by Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan has big news!   It’s supposed to be career-altering.   I’m not even going to attempt to figure the angles here.   Just gonna sit back and watch and see if it lands. As for last night, I’d have to say it was a solid show.   The only thing that stuck out really was the Viking Raiders. Don’t know what to do with these guys.   I know the Viking thing is kinda hot right now but I have no idea how this works in the wrestling world.   I mean, there’s some wackiness going on, don’t get me wrong.   AEW is rocking some dude going by Luchasaurus and he strolls out with a pretty ornate lizard-like mask.   That guy works there, I guess but this particular We the Audience doesn’t really know how to take these sort of gimmicks.   They te

Good Evening, Enthusiasts! Enjoy Extreme Rules?   You know, to be honest it was one of the more solid PPVs they've had in a while, definitely blew Stomping Grounds out of the water.   Yes, Brock Lesnar cashed in but I don’t have a problem with it.   I would have preferred more of a shock to it but we all knew he was gonna drop it at some point.   Don’t act so surprised or upset.   I know there are capable wrestlers on the roster who could carry the title but remember these sorts of things are handled more like popularity contests in the WWE Universe.   Who really has that kind of swagger inside and outside the ring?   Whether anyone likes it or not, Lesnar makes this stuff more fun for the casual fan to watch.   People generally know who he is and he looks the part.   Who else has that?   Roman Reigns everyone is currently sick of though he’s staying relevant and Drew McIntyre is too new and Braun Strowman is the new Big Show.   Not that I have a problem with this it’s just ri

Let’s see RAW do that!  A Good Tuesday to You, Enthusiasts! So, RAW wasn’t bad but there are a lot of looming questions.   Mainly, who will face Brock Lesnar for SummerSlam?   So far, we have Bobby Lashley and Roman Reigns offered up and We the Audience aren’t really feeling either option.   True, Braun Strowman lurks with the Money in the Bank briefcase but…though I know plenty wouldn’t mind the match of Strowman vs. Lesnar, I still feel Lesnar would object.   Or it would be booked as a squash match and it’s Strowman playing keep away with the title until Creative gets bored.    My point is, I’m not really jazzed for SummerSlam just now.   Can it be fixed?   Sure, but will it be?    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯   They may want to consider inter-brand titling.   Like, AJ Styles should be a contender for Lesnar and that means potentially a wrestler could wear both the WWE Title and the Universal Title.   Maybe that was what they were alluding to in the opener with Lesnar doing just that with WW

That Was Extreme. Now RAW Has to Get Back to Business...

How’s it going, Enthusiasts? So, Extreme Rules came and went and it appears that We the Audience are losing a little credibility.   Apparently the crowd wasn’t fully grasping the nature of the Ironman Match among other things this past Sunday.   I warned that if we weren’t consistent we’d expose we don’t know what we want or what we’re talking about.   How do you expect to be appeased when it’s clear we don’t know what that would even look like?   Make sure your arguments are solid out there.   Everyone’s got a soapbox.   What’s so good about what you have to say? In any case, it wasn’t a bad show.   I believe the Ironman Match was the best one of the night but more for merit than anything else.   We don’t have that good of an attention span so the WWE is going to have to throw some “highs & lows” into these sorts of things.   We get bored easily. As for tonight, we wait with bated breath to see if Brock “Gun Jack” Lesnar will make an appearance to retain his Universal

GIVING IT TO YOU RAW…What Happened Last Night (Apr. 27th, 2015)

With Extreme Rules over, we now are being redirected to focus on the next PPV, Payback.  There, the Heavyweight Championship will be up for grabs again and this time around, it’s not so much the stipulations but who’s invited to the party.  Personally, I’ve lost all interest in the titles because, given the nature of the WWE, they are ultimately arbitrary.  Who wins comes down to matters of preference and/or crowd approval.  I’m not saying how a title belt is issued should be completely changed.  Yet, if I were in charge, I would certainly make wrestlers’ records carry more weight when it came to booking matches.  Not that the arbitrary nature of staging the action would be removed but it would be more veiled in “kayfabery” this way, I would think.  Makes it seem half-real.  Yet, that may not be the point.  It’s hard to say if it ever was.  All that I know for sure is that We the Audience will partake of whatever constitutes a good show or time and that is fine by me.
