WrestleMania XL - SmackDown Fallout

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts! So, the wake of WrestleMania has left a few things to talk about. Again, it’s nothing too shocking but it does give us something to chat about for a few minutes. Are you up for it? Let’s break it all down. For the most part, AEW has been making the headlines with the posting of the backstage fight between Jack Perry and CM Punk. I didn’t bother to see it for myself because I’m not sure what it proves at this point. AEW does get the ratings bump but that’s about it. Most commentators feel this was a odd move but given the ratings increase, most can also see that Tony Khan probably got what he wanted, some eyes on the product.  Personally, this whole ordeal didn’t really grab me. I’m not sure what’s going on over at AEW but its “green” status seems to be what’s at cause most here. It’s a young company with a young CEO. There are going to be bouts of immaturity and insecurity by default. To me, that’s all this is. Khan will learn the hard way. In this particul

WrestleMania XL: Day 2 - Matches of Interest

Happy WrestleMania Day 2, Enthusiasts. How did you like last night? To be honest, it felt like everyone stepped aside for the main event in my opinion. If I had any say, I’d act like that was the point. With The Rock threatening referees for doing their jobs, it’s safe to assume that the roster doesn’t want to be on his radar 😉 I will say that Sami Zayn vs. GUNTHER didn’t have that feel and I’m glad they gave it to Zayn. Now, let’s see if Zayn can run with it and be a new kind of champion. If he can back it up, he can back it up. And that’s all I’ll say about that.  Rhea Ripley vs. Becky Lynch also seemed impervious to the night’s events though, with Lynch supposedly sick I suppose the predetermined outcome was foreshadowed with that information. I just hope it’s not strep throat. If Ripley gets sick next, we all know why.  And so, what about Day 2? Well, since Day 1 was a little reserved, Day 2 has full clearance to go all out. Here are the matches I’m thinking hold the most intrigue

WrestleMania XL: Day 1 - Matches of Interest

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts! Happy WrestleMania Day 1.  So, this is a packed weekend and I got a lot on my plate on top of that so, I’ll take my time and also be brief. There are 7 matches on the card tonight plus whatever extras they got planned so this is gonna be a long day and that’s just the half of it. Let’s get into it. So, the first match I’m looking at is Bianca BelAir, Jade Cargill and Naomi teaming up to face the New Damage CTRL. Now, to look at it, it does look very lazy. The Black (African-American) women against the Japanese Women & Dakota Kai. I guess Kai technically makes the whole thing diverse but I don’t see many people really buying that. And so, why is this an issue? It doesn’t really have to be but in the face of a casual fan base with random new onlookers, one has to wonder what sentiments it conjures.  On the other hand, I wouldn’t want forced diversity just to quiet sensitive fans or head-off inadvertent backlash. WWE is good at getting the best. They don

What’s Going On, Enthusiasts? Happy Friday! So, there are a few things to chat about across the Wrestling World today. Again, nothing devastating or surprising but something to explore. Are you ready? Let’s do it. We’ll start in the Kingdom of TNA today, as Ash by Elegance f.k.a. Dana Brooke seems a little bitter about the popularity of the up and coming Tiffany Stratton. Claims she’s stealing moves and getting all the credit. Well, I won’t really comment on that because this is the first I’m seeing of Stratton and so far, I see the appeal. To me, she’s a knock-off or impersonation of the video game character Tiffany Lords from Rival Schools: United by Fate. She doesn’t seem as ditzy and doesn’t wear the oversized boxing gloves but that’s what comes to mind when I see her. The character is probably older than her but all I’m saying is that her copying Brooke never came to mind.  Like I keep saying, this industry is a popularity contest, especially in the WWE Universe. People gravitate

What’s Going On, Enthusiasts!   How’s everyone doing? So, we’ve got a few things to chat about this evening. Nothing too shocking but it’s enough to have a little conversation. You up for it? Let’s break these things down.   First item of WWE business comes courtesy of a semi-disgruntled Ronda Rousey. She’s now spilling all sorts of tea. She claims a slap she took from Stephanie McMahon back in 2018 caused a concussion and that she would have walked sooner if she didn’t get to work with Shayna Baszler. Apparently, Rousey has a long history of concussions and appears to have been susceptible during her stint with WWE. I can sympathize with this but it comes off like Rousey went into things a little naïve.   I’m no sports entertainer but I can see that there’s a lot of physicality in this genre of entertainment. It may be scripted but you take your hits. If Rousey wasn’t prepared for that, she should have taken another route. Maybe become a martial arts trainer or something.

Happy Friday, Enthusiasts! How’s everyone doing? Can’t say I have too many troubles. No more than most. So, there are a few things we can discuss today. Nothing earth shattering but enough to fill up a few minutes of reading time. Let’s get in to it, shall we? Let’s start out in the Indy Wildlands as House Rhodes introduces some new faces. The nephews to Cody and Dustin “Goldust” Rhodes, Wayne and Wyatt had their first professional match representing Dustin’s wrestling school the Rhodes Wrestling Academy. They’re not the biggest kids so, I’m not sure what the future holds but if they’re fine performers and have that Rhodes Heart they should do all right. Welcome to the show, kids. Now, the wrestling world just wouldn’t be what it is without shit talk so let’s review what got spilled this week. First off, Ronda Rousey was doing the best version of herself as she gave her take of the “shit show” that is WWE. Needless to say, it wasn’t a glowing report but what was even clearer is that th

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts!   Not bad for a Monday, if I may say. Definitely had worse ones. This week, we got a few things to chat about, mostly in the WWE Universe so let’s discuss, shall we?   First up, The Rock is getting both good and bad responses of late. His “Rock Concert” didn’t do much for SmackDown ratings but, Tennessee welcomed him nonetheless. There’s been some talk that his taking liberties is rubbing some the wrong way. He’s definitely invoking more Attitude Era Tone than the PG one these days. Some say, the rules should apply to all involved, especially post-Vince McMahon. Personally, my feathers weren’t ruffled but I definitely have picked up on how the Rock’s appeal isn’t what it used to be. Not sure that’s a bad thing, per se though.   The crux of current times is that there’s a lot of push for a kinder, gentler society and those of us who like it rough and tumble, aren’t exactly fully on board but we have to be respectful enough or at the very least c

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Everything okay on this Daylight Savings Weekend? Hope it’s all right. As we may all have our plights and tribulations, always remember that it could be worse rather than it could be better. In any case, there’s not much grabbing my attention at the end of this week. There’s some goings-on, as always, but nothing I care to unpack. However, I feel we should congratulate the WWE Universe’s quintessential little brother in Dominik Mysterio on his recent nuptials. The young lad got married this week and it’s just nice to see him growing up. Gets me a little verklempt. May their lives be blessed and fruitful! Besides that, it’s on to tonight’s SmackDown. We can expect The Rock and Roman Reigns to return so that Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins can tell them to their faces how they really feel. Bobby Lashley will find himself enthralled with Karrion Kross. Randy Orton and Kevin Owens don’t like these new kids in Austin Theory and Grayson Waller. They’re going to t

What’s Going On, Enthusiasts?   This Monday treating you well? I do hope so. It’s a Monday all right but I’ve certainly had worse. There are few things to talk about this evening. It’s the end of an era so to speak so let’s get into it.   In the Realm of AEW, they had their Revolution PPV and it also served as retirement party for the enigma that is Sting. I missed out on this guy. I just remember him making better use of The Crow face paint than the franchise. I didn't witness what made him so iconic. And when he came to WWE, he was simply too old. Not to say he got any younger with AEW but you see what I mean. No way this guy was getting much ring time wrassling at 107.   I try to live in accordance with Parkour so I try to only go forward. I don’t care to revisit the past unless for research purposes. I won’t likely go find his epic past matches and educate myself but I do take everyone’s word for it. He’s been around this long and definitely makes an impression so,
