RAW Takes It Upon Itself to Chop Some Firewood for WrestleMania...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts!   Not bad for a Monday, if I may say. Definitely had worse ones. This week, we got a few things to chat about, mostly in the WWE Universe so let’s discuss, shall we?   First up, The Rock is getting both good and bad responses of late. His “Rock Concert” didn’t do much for SmackDown ratings but, Tennessee welcomed him nonetheless. There’s been some talk that his taking liberties is rubbing some the wrong way. He’s definitely invoking more Attitude Era Tone than the PG one these days. Some say, the rules should apply to all involved, especially post-Vince McMahon. Personally, my feathers weren’t ruffled but I definitely have picked up on how the Rock’s appeal isn’t what it used to be. Not sure that’s a bad thing, per se though.   The crux of current times is that there’s a lot of push for a kinder, gentler society and those of us who like it rough and tumble, aren’t exactly fully on board but we have to be respectful enough or at the very least c

SmackDown Tries to Conjure of Some Drama of Its Own...

Happy Friday, Enthusiasts!   How is everything? Well, there are quite a few rumors circulating. I’m not going to talk about all of them, but I think we have enough to have a decent conversation. Let’s get to it, shall we.   So, AEW is racking up drama points as there is a lot of talk of backstage tensions amongst the top stars. I don’t know enough to get into all that, but I did check out the Jon Moxley and CM Punk confrontation that went down on this week’s Dynamite . The main takeaways I got from it is that Mox has to prepare when it comes to showdowns with Punk. It’s clear that Punk knows how to handle the mic. Mox is no slouch, but Punk definitely knows what he’s going to say. None of that was on the fly. He may not fully script it out, but he definitely hits his bullet points. Mox was on the fly and it showed. That works in some instances but the mic is one of Punk’s strengths and that was on full display this week.   I also felt that the display could support my theor

SmackDown Gears Us Up for the Final Push...

Happy Friday, Enthusiasts!   I hope you all are doing well. So, there’s a bit to talk about at the end of the week, isn’t there. Let’s not dally and get right to it.   The first blip on the radar is the return of Jon Moxley. Fitting how he returns just as Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins prepare to do battle at the Royal Rumble. One thing that is for sure is that the enigma that was The Shield is still alive and well. Reports have already shot down Moxley making an appearance for the Rumble, but his first match back is scheduled for tonight’s Rampage . I’m not sure what to think or feel just yet. We’ll see how the fresh and clean version of Mox works out. Not that I think anyone needs to be on the sauce but people like the We don’t often care for “sanitizing” or “cleaning up” the rough and tumble types. That rough edge tends to be what makes that sort of performer interesting. Mox showed us that he’ll always be able to rock a mic but how has it affected the action in the squared c

RAW Sets the Scene for Extreme Rules....

A Good Monday to You, Enthusiasts.   I hope it’s going well. There’s not much circulating today in terms of gossip so, this will be a short post.   What did catch my eye was the news that MVP had knee surgery recently. That explains the “broken rib” he supposedly suffered on RAW. Let’s wish him a speedy recovery. He’s been solid as Bobby Lashley’s managerial counsel. He was cracking me up last week looking like he was going to go upside Riddle’s head with his cane. He’s a natural. Already looking forward to his return.   On a side note, I’m kinda curious about how Riddle will fair going forward. With all this talk after the recent Dark Side of the Ring episode, I wouldn’t be surprised if his past gets kicked back up again. I know the matter is settled but I don’t have enough to forgive him. It doesn’t seem like he’s repentant to me. That’s key in such a matter because you like to see that the offender is willing to make a positive change. I can understand a person changi

RAW Starts to Toss the BreadCrumbs to Money in the Bank...

A Good Monday to You, Enthusiasts. How’s everyone doing?   I can only hope that everyone is hanging in there.   So, in spite of low ratings, both RAW and SmackDown have been solid of late.   They have had clear trains of thought which any longstanding viewer can attest, isn’t always a sure thing in the WWE Universe and have been very amusing.   It doesn’t seem so much like a bad high school rehearsal anymore.   It’s actually has been palatable television.   The live audience is definitely missed but they are beginning to see that it doesn’t make sense to film as if they are there and they are experimenting with promos and backstage segments because those don’t require the live feedback.   It’s just common sense. In any case, word has it that Money in the Bank will remain set for May 10 th so with a few weeks to go, the slow build continues.   We'll see how the content changes now that the roster cuts are official.   We’ll also see if they address Shayna Baszler anglin

I Enjoyed WrestleMania, Surprisingly. So, RAW What's Next?...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts! Enjoy WrestleMania?   You know, I did if I may say so myself.   I would have to say content-wise they came up with the best action they’ve had in a while.   It’s too bad this WrestleMania will always have an asterisk beside it but I think it served as proof of the depth of the roster.   So, my general conjectures are true.   WWE’s Creative team doesn’t know how to best use everyone.   Let’s see if they can validate their jobs over the coming weeks. In any case, I know a lot of people loved the Firefly Fun House match but you can’t really say that was match.   It was a sort of demonstration but I didn’t mind it.   It proved a lot of my points, though so I can’t really be upset anyway.   Always nice to get some confirmation.   It showed how this gimmick should have been pitched to WWE Studios as a horror flick franchise and not really attempted as a live action incarnation.   Though people like it, you can see that it needs proper staging to have a c
