RAW Sets the Pace for the Royal Rumble...

Happy Holidays, Enthusiasts!   Behold the final post of 2020! It was a stunning year for all the wrong reasons but some home truths came to light so it’s not all bad. Let’s get to what’s circulating in the wrestling world, shall we?   So, you don’t need me to inform you of Brodie Lee’s/Luke Harper’s passing. This is just too bad. I didn’t know much about him but it’s put a smile on my face that I kinda pegged him right. A few posts back I said something along the lines that I bet both Luke Harper and Erick Rowan probably smelled like baby powder despite their disheveled appearances. I read that he did in fact keep good care of his “gear” and did not offend. The news coming out is that he was sick since October. That’s what floored me. I had no idea anything was wrong. Those are the toughest hits. Note how the concept of Impermanence affects Life. Nothing is forever and we have no idea how much time we’ve got. It’s sad to see good people pass. If it makes you feel better, think

SmackDown Sticks to Fallout Procedures...

Merry Christmas, Enthusiasts!     Though there may be less people around that doesn’t mean there should be any less festivity. I had my annual feast of Chinese food and now I’m ready for some wrasslin’.     So, in terms of news in the wrestling world, there’s not too much going on. AEW and NXT both took ratings hits due to real sports being on at the same time. I looked in on both this week and it’s very interesting to see the contrast. I respect NXT but a lot of those guys will have a tough time if they try to go to WWE, The Undisputed Era especially. I don’t doubt they’re skilled wrestlers but they’re far from intimidating. I’m pretty sure Rhea Ripley and Raquel Gonzalez could take them on in a fight. I kinda think I could take ‘em too. That doesn’t bode well for making it on the big stage. WWE fans are more like the real world. For example, remember when The Shield would walk through the crowd to the ring? As much as Roman Reigns was given shit back then, when they walked th

Happy Monday, Enthusiasts.   How are you? Did you catch TLC? It’s actually worth a watch. There were certainly some decent matches last night.     So, let’s get right to it and just accept that Kevin Owens and Roman Reigns were flat out match of the night. See, you have to leave room for the impossible to happen. Not that I was expecting this match to underwhelm I’m just glad that they kept it simple and executed the blatant story. Reigns is out of his mind. Owens is Owens. Kaboom! Owens fought and triggered Reigns to take it there and I couldn’t have imagined a better result. So proud of these guys. Now they have the task of continuing to maintain excellence. Thankfully, they have the Royal Rumble to prep for. Gives them some incentive to find their baseline and keep to it. But I’m fine with them just basking in the success for this week. I think that’s allowed when you manage to “make a table” out of someone as Reigns did or are speared into one as Owens was. That’s the magic

Wowzers....So, TLC....

A Merry Sunday to You, Enthusiasts.     My, this is an interesting time in the WWE Universe. For those of you wishing that an overhaul would someday come, the time may be soon. As I deduced, WWE is getting its ass handed to them in the boardroom and they now have no choice but to up their game or get written off as a joke. Never thought the day would come but, when you look at the content, I’m sure many aren’t sure why it didn’t happen sooner. Well, if you ask me…they didn’t think it was that bad. Numbers don’t lie.     So, what does all this mean for TLC? Well, we’ll still have to see. Given their attempt to make 2020 a Cartoon Heel, it’s hard to say how the creative department thinks. I would say they think the audience is predominantly under 13. So not true, this could be what’s at the core of the issue. Creative doesn’t know how to cater to its audience. Again, what’s the point of them? Wrestlers should view this as an opening. They definitely need to start pitching their o

Happy Friday Enthusiasts,   How is everyone? Well, there’s quite a bit going on in the wrestling world. Let’s get into it, shall we.     So, Brandi and Cody Rhodes are another wrestling couple expecting in the New Year. I don’t know what the word is on the supposed COVID baby boom but it appears to be in full effect in wrestling. Congratulations to them!   In WWE, this Ben Carter that I’ve been hearing about has signed with them after a short stint with AEW. Don’t be surprised if this sort of thing starts to happen more often. Both promotions have their pluses and minuses and a wrestler may start to try them on for size. Just remember, when going to WWE these people need to have a plan for themselves. Success is not guaranteed.   On that note, there’s word that the USA Network isn’t too happy with the low ratings RAW pulled in this week. It wasn’t the worst of their shows. They have definitely had worse showings but after last week’s SmackDown , it became very clear th

RAW Attempts to Nail the Go Home Show for TLC...

Image
A Good Monday to You, Enthusiasts.   Another week down. Let’s try to make ‘em good ones for the rest of the year. Can’t hurt, right? So, here we are, the Go Home Show for TLC 2020. SmackDown laid it down last Friday and now RAW has to not only keep pace but up the ante for TLC. Can they do it? They have no choice but to try.   This being the final PPV of a contemptible year, I hope WWE has fun with this. Of course, I want better content saved for the Royal Rumble but that doesn’t mean TLC can’t be some fun. I’m not even going to begin to throw out any ideas. Gotta see what they come up with first. All I’m saying is that they should just let her rip is all. Might as well. Show this year what for by going out with a bang.   Anyway, as for current gossip, there’s not much that’s piqued my interest. There’s a lot of talk about Kenny Omega right now since he’s promotion hopping at the moment. I think it’s very novel of him and for some reason, I think he’s the only one right now

SmackDown Comes Through to Lay the Street Markers So We Can See How to Get to TLC.

They’re looking out for our safety 😉   A Pleasant Friday Evening to You, Enthusiasts.   I hope things are going well for you. You know, as well as they can be. So, there’s actually some interesting “news” floating around. Let’s get right into it. The first thing that’s of interest is the fact that Keith Lee and Otis among a few others have been “ordered” to return to the Performance Center for additional training. I can sort of see why. Everyone named is of a larger physical comportment than most and I think they have to work harder to ensure that themselves and others aren’t injured. That’s a lot of weight moving around. A false move could actually be fatal. I don’t see the harm in them cleaning up their games. They have to show first and for most that they’re professional out there. I think it’s a good sign if it’s true. A standard of excellence needs to be maintained. The one thing WWE has got going for them right now is that it is chock full of talent. If that starts to get

RAW Continues to Pave the Way to TLC...

How Are You Doing, Enthusiasts?   Good? I hope so. I know it may seem like there isn’t much to be happy about but relax. It’s the end of the year and many of us can spend it at home. Appreciate it. When else have you been allowed to do something like that? We’ve basically been ordered to sit back and chill. Could be worse. In any case, there’s some happy news circulating in the WWE Universe. Let’s have a little chat about it, shall we.   So, Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins had their baby, a beautiful bundle of joy by the name of Roux. The assumption is that it’s a baby girl but nothing official has been stated yet. Congratulations to them! May their family be blessed.   It just so happens that word of Renée Paquette’s and Jon Moxley’s baby being a girl is popping up on Twitter. So, this little lady potentially has a playmate already. How do people feel about a female rendition of The Shield? 😉 I guess we’ll have to check back in about 20 years.   There’s other stuff going

SmackDown Decides to Play Along So, TLC It Is...

Happy Friday, Enthusiasts.   How are you doing? Good? I certainly hope so. Let’s get right to it and see what’s going on. So, word is that Triple H says that WWE is up for working with other promotions. Personally, I hope for the day AEW partners with WWE. To me, they might as well. I think at the very least it makes for a raucous Survivor Series someday. I think Chris Jericho would have a lot of fun raiding with his crew. Yet, ultimately, I think the partnership just makes sense seeing how many people end up over there anyway. Just make it official. They can keep up the tit for tat though. I think it’s best to make it seem like the companies are adversarial. Makes the potential clashes juicier.   Speaking of AEW, Sting has made his way over. Not sure what he’s going to do, though. In his debut he just kinda strolled through, eyed Darby Allin and then sauntered backstage. I missed out the enigma of Sting but all I know is that he’s about 410 years old now and I’m not sure he ca

So, It's All About TLC Now. RAW Says, Follow Them!

How’s Everyone Doing this Monday?   Good? Hanging in there? Well, do your best. As They say, there’s no sense worrying over that which is not under your control. Do what you can and leave it at that. Same mostly goes for the WWE Universe. We just sit back and see who makes the most of nothing.   Well, Braun Strowman will be sitting out for a time so he has time to think. There were reports he was injured floating around and now it appears that there may be some truth to it. The word is that it’s a knee issue. Hopefully, he can take this time to really marinate on what to do with himself in WWE. He shouldn’t expect much from the creative department. More than likely, they’re just contemplating ways to make him Big Show II. It’ll be up to him to develop what “Braun Strowman” is all about.   Outside of that, a lot of the interesting information circulates around tonight’s RAW . Looks like COVID will not interrupt the year’s end and TLC will go on per usual. So, that means new

A Good Friday to You, Enthusiasts.   How’s Black Friday going for you? May your Holiday Deals be plentiful. So, this post should be brief because there’s not a lot going on in the WWE Universe today. Most of what’s floating around is not anything new but I may ramble on about it.   The first thing that caught my eye is the marketability of The Fiend. Apparently one can now purchase a Fiend on the Scene for your holiday shenanigans. You know I can’t stand this concept but Horror fans appear to be eating it up. Noticed quite a bit of people, children included, opted for a Fiend costume this Halloween. That baffles me even more because it’s not scary. It’s some dude in a mask who’s a fan of Freddy Kruger. I admit. Horror isn’t my bag but it just surprises me what flies sometimes in this universe. I never liked the Undertaker either but I could at least respect the man. This I just roll my eyes at. And it’s unfortunate because I like Bray Wyatt. He’s captivating in the ring so, I d

A Good Evening to You, Enthusiasts!   How is this Monday treating you? It’s going pretty well in my neck of the woods if I may say so myself. So, did everyone manage to watch at least some of Survivor Series? It wasn’t the best but it was better than Hell in a Cell, I can give it that. General consensus is that it was predictable but the main event of Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre didn’t disappoint. As much as people felt this would be a “banger” of a match, I wasn’t so optimistic. Their last matches weren’t the best and I was expecting to see more of the same but these gentlemen managed to put together a great match. I can’t knock it so, good for them. Now, Reigns has to come up with a new way to end a match. Hopefully, he’s “full of himself” enough to realize when something starts to get old 😉     I also appreciated how the Ladies continue to hold their own. Asuka vs. Sasha Banks was what it was but it was still a solid match. And though Lana got the payoff for all those ti

Survivor Series 2020!!!!

Happy Survivor Series, Enthusiasts!   Excited for the show? Well, I can’t say I am per se but as usual, curiosity gets the best of me. The only reason is well, we all know the WWE track record. People get all hot and bothered for something only to get massively disappointed in the end. I’m never really geared up for anything anymore. I just sit back and see if I’m impressed. As I’ve been saying, there’s plenty of talent, little to no vision. So, we’ll see who manages to make something out of nothing tonight.   So, also as usual, I won’t run down the entire show just the matches that have caught my interest, the first one being the Ladies’ 5-on-5. I’m intrigued by this due to the eclectic mix of ladies, especially on the SmackDown side. Both teams are relatively fresh. Natalya is the only real veteran participating. Nia Jax and Bayley aren’t exactly new but this is more or less the new school in effect. The Ladies have made it clear that even though they’re under-utilized, they
