Royal Rumble 2026 - SmackDown Fallout...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   It’s another Friday. Looking forward to getting some extra sleep this weekend. As for the Wrestling World, there’s not a whole hell of a lot going on that interests me. I’m glancing at it though, but nothing raised a full eyebrow. Given that, this should be relatively short so, let’s knock it out.   Over in the Realm of AEW, the Future is progressing nicely as the Riders of Death continue to wage a “war” with the Don Callis Family. This week, it was a Trios Match as Jon Moxley took PAC and Daniel Garcia into battle against Konosuke Takeshita, Josh Alexander and El Clon. The high points were the exchanges between PAC and El Clon for sure. PAC appears to be finding his new normal after some injury setbacks. There were some nice exchanges between Mox and Takeshita as well as Takeshita has made it clear he aims to come for Mox’s Continental Championship.   The match was relatively clean though there were a few shenanigans from Alexan...

Royal Rumble 2026 - RAW Fallout...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   If you partook of the Royal Rumble, how did you like it? I didn’t hate it but I would concur with the general consensus that it seemed lacking a bit. That may have been due to politics and logistics but overall, a well-executed show.   The Realm of AEW is relatively quiet as far as the Future is concerned. So, I’ll just touch on it briefly now. The Don Callis Family doesn't seem too concerned with being “cunning” at this current juncture but I saw on Saturday’s Collision that they can be dicks, no problem. As for Our Man Moxley, he’s trying to be the adult in the room and so far, so good. We’ll see how long that lasts. Let it stew.   Now, back to the Rumble, the biggest surprise was the return of Brie Bella to help out Nikki Bella for a few minutes before getting jointly eliminated. The Men’s surprises were underwhelming at best but I think the Saudi backdrop had the most to do with that.   Also, many fans/commenters no...

Royal Rumble - Matches of Interest

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Conflicted about the Royal Rumble? I’m not sure you should be. True, there are matters to be considered however, this is supposed to be entertainment. I’m not sure it should carry such weight due to its inherent levity. Why bring the party down? That may be a naive take but I think it is a fair one. Why would you come to the WWE Universe for political discussion? They don’t use their words here.  Regardless, the show will go on no matter how anyone feels so I’ll make the most of it. This is an escape for me. I admit it so I’ll keep leaving the politics at the door. So that leaves the Rumbles. Those are the only matches I’m concerned about. I’m curious about the others and I’ll watch them but it’s the Rumbles we’re here to see so, let’s chat about what may go down.  For the ladies there are about 13 open spots so that’s room for 13 “surprises”. Word is Sol Ruca may make an appearance and there’s talk of a Paige return. I’ve also heard that a lot of ...

SmackDown Makes Saudi Arabia Home for a Short While...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Happy Royal Rumble Eve. The action will be tape-delayed this evening and I’ll be catching up late tomorrow so, this will be a very leisurely post. That’s the only downside of the Rumble being abroad. It’s hard to have the collective experience but I suppose we should get used to it. Progress dictates that the big shows should expand so, prepare for when WrestleMania and Summer Slam are had on foreign shores. It’s the natural next step.   We’ll get more into the implications later but first, let’s start over in the Realm of AEW as the Future is simmering nicely. This will be a pivotal year for it but the pacing will be key. So far, Jon Moxley continues to entertain takers for the Continental Championship. Anyone who can keep him in the ring for 20 minutes gets a shot and this week’s offering came in the young Ace Austin. It’s the first I’ve seen of the kid and he’s a stocky yet agile thing. He gave Mox a few things to think about but not e...

When RAW Says to "Go Home" They Mean Get to Saudi Arabia...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   A Merry Monday to you. So, there’s not much going on in the Wrestling World be we can have brief chat about this past weekend’s Saturday Night: Main Event and the night’s RAW . So, let’s not dally and do this.   Saturday’s SNME was great! It was just a solid show. It was ramped up from the moment someone said “Go!” and didn’t really settle down until it was over. It was a lot of fun. I think it’s a nice touch that Jacob Fatu’s and Cody Rhode’s match never officially got started and they just had it out in the stands which proves my point of how we don’t use our words in the WWE Universe. Scrapping it out is all we understand. It served Drew McIntyre to shut it all down as well. If he’s going to carry this Championship he has to have some clout. I don’t mind him being a “miserable bastard” in the meantime. He just has to validate himself on occasion.   The Ladies did their jobs in the Tag Team Championship and it’s hard to compl...

RAW Says Hello & Good-bye to Ireland...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   A good MLK Day to you if you get to celebrate it with a day off. That happens to be my fate at the moment and I have enjoyed the day thoroughly. As for the Wrestling World, it’s fairly quiet at present but I have a couple things to chat about so, let’s get it over with then we can get to lounging however we please.   We start in the Realm of AEW as we check on the percolating Future and I would say the first bubbles have started to rise to the surface. On this weekend’s Collision, we saw Don Callis himself get a few of Jon Moxley’s feathers ruffled. Mox did try to just walk away. I would presume that Mox is fully aware of his… “tendencies”. Yet, taking the High Road did not save him. The Callis Family is large and members were there to greet Mox with what they would feel is a well-overdue beatdown. The Riders of Death were quick to swoop in and back them off but the gauntlet has been thrown to the ground. If that doesn’t light a feud, I ...

Royal Rumble 2025

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   It’s the Rumble and this one feels different. With John Cena’s farewell tour well underway, we can’t help but expect WWE to pull out some stops. That said, all we really care about are the rumbles this year. Cody Rhodes, Kevin Owens, the Motor City Machine Guns and DIY have their work cut out for them. I get the feeling if people could fast forward, they would. I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of people wait until it replays just to be able to do that.   My Saturday is set aside for this so, I’ll be watching live but I won’t lie and say I’m not like everyone else. I’m very curious about the rumbles so here’s who I’m hoping to see.   For the Ladies, I’m anticipating them opening. I hope they keep to a traditional format this time around. Just given all the potential, I wouldn’t want to leave much to experiment. These are the times to be most by the book. They can be creative about how they do it but I’m sensing it’s a time to demo...

SmackDown Sees If It Can Keep Up on the Way to the Royal Rumble...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Enjoying 2025 so far? It’s shaping up to be interesting. As for the Wrestling World, there’s definitely some buzz about. So, let’s not waste any time and get into it.   We’ll just take a quick stop over in the Realm of AEW since Jon Moxley had a Championship match in his hometown against Powerhouse Hobbs. To be honest, aside from the lost earring, it wasn’t a bad match. It was better than I was expecting anyway. Always thought the earring may factor someday, though. Just a little too 90s for the 21st century ๐Ÿ˜‰ Don’t blame Hobbs for ripping it out. But of course, that leads to blood and Mox sported red for the rest of the match.   The Death Riders also played their part by nipping away at Hobbs any time the referee’s back was turned. But to the side of that I wonder…Does PAC ever get cold? He’s always out there wet and naked. It’s a wonder he doesn’t get sick. I think he’s the “craziest” one of them all, if you ask me. He should...

SmackDown Finalizes the Royal Rumble...

Happy Friday, Enthusiasts! How’s everything going? It’s a good one for me. Got some good things coming down the pike. Can’t say the sentiment is so hopeful in the WWE Universe but I suppose the healing can now begin. Let’s get into what’s going on. Well, it’s hard to get away from the scandal hovering over WWE. Word is that the Feds are looking into it now. More to see if anyone was skirting the financials. Deals like these can’t be on company books so I’m sure there looking for any criminal action on the fiscal accounting of these unsavory affairs.  It doesn’t look good. I won’t lie. And I’m not sure what happens from here. Yet, at the same time, I feel those who were uninvolved need to focus on just that. One can’t help the faults of others. That doesn’t stop the business from being a billion dollar company and the best in the industry. I figure it’s best to focus on that. But I will touch on that in light of all these scandalous allegations that there is a call to “omit” Mr. Vin...

RAW Deals with Royal Rumble Fallout....

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Did you enjoy the Royal Rumble? I have to say I came away from it satisfied. It was generally well-executed and though there were no jaw-dropping returns I had a lot of fun and have to say it was one of the more well-rounded PPVs, especially given everything I’m glad everyone kept themselves together and had a great show.   General consensus gives match of the night to the Ladies’ Rumble. Which isn’t much of a surprise. They were forward-thinking with having Jordynne Grace on loan from TNA. Naomi is back and Jade Cargill is now available for main roster action. The Men’s Rumble wasn’t all that bad but all they had was Andrade’s return and Bron Breakker is now everyone’s problem.   Personally I enjoyed the Fatal-4-Way even though the outcome was expected I thought it was well done and it kept me entertained. Everyone looked good and say what you will about Roman Reigns, he performs without having to be exulted, meaning that though...

Matches of Interest - Royal Rumble 2024

Image
Happy Royal Rumble, Enthusiasts!   It’s been a mixed bag, to say the least. Well, there’s not much to talk about since the card is fairly light which hopefully means the Rumbles are a going to be jam-packed and full of surprises so, let me get into the 2 matches of interest I have. First let’s just get out of the way that given light of all the recent allegations against Mr. Vince McMahon, he read the room and resigned from WWE/TKO. He claims innocence but given his known history it’s unlikely anyone really buys that but that will be for his counsel to handle. This is a bit of a PR nightmare so I don’t blame him for not trying to hang around. It's hard to defend yourself when you’re in company like Jeffery Epstein and Harvy Weinstein and the like.   Nevertheless, it allows us to focus more on the Royal Rumble and not these unfortunate accusations. That said, let me get into the first match of interest, the Fatal-4-Way with LA Knight, Randy Orton, Roman Reigns and AJ...
