Does That Future Involve SmackDown Dropping "Clean-Up" Duties?...

Image
A Good Tuesday to You, Enthusiasts! Well, I would have to say that RAW was fairly straightforward this week.   I’m thinking with the SmackDown move to FOX pending, it looks like the WWE is starting to streamline its presentation.   Focus was definitely kept more in the ring and on matches so, let that be a note to the roster.   Going to have to put the drama in the ring and work on that technique.   Looks like this may actually start looking like an actual sporting event. As for the content, I would say that most fun was certainly the opener.   With Roman Reigns out for “X” amount of time, Brock Lesnar returns to be the resident Unstoppable Force.   Now, of course Braun Strowman comes out to threaten someone would “Get these hands…” but all that happened was Lesnar giving him an F5.   Is that all the foreshadowing we need?   It’s hard to say.   I certainly don’t want this match to be a quick one but I’m not sure about Strowman’s actual ability in the ring.   He does come off

RAW Now Ushers in the FUTURE!!.....

Greetings, Enthusiasts! So, Evolution has come and went and I have to say it was a solid showing by our Lady Wrestlers.   Girls can certainly do it too and that is certainly something to be proud of.   Even though there was no tinge of sexual tension to chomp at, it was still a very fun and entertaining night.   Though kudos and praise are due to Becky Lynch and Charlotte, I felt the NXT Ladies put on the best shows in terms of Io Shirai and this Tomi Storm and Kairi Sane and Shayna Baszler.    They were technical and compelling and I think these 4 will be interesting additions to the Main Roster should they ever make it there.   Baszler is practically destined to face off with Ronda Rousey in the future and the others are sure to just add welcome depth to the roster.   It should be fun. In any case, we now look to tonight’s RAW which will both handle last night’s fallout and serve as Go-Home Show for Crown Jewel, still set for Saudi Arabia.   Now, I was one of those against g

A Good Sunday to You, Enthusiasts. Tonight we gather for an evening of historic nature as the Ladies congregate to perform the first ever women’s only PPV.    Now, being a woman myself, I appreciate this moment but at the same time I must admit something.   My love for “wrassling” doesn’t stem solely from the sport.   There are somewhat ulterior motives because I do rather enjoy watching scantily clad men writhe around for viewing pleasure.   Yes, I do admit and embrace the underlying sexual element and draw of this form of entertainment.   And so, my excitement is somewhat limited for this event because quite frankly, there’s nothing for me to “look at”.   I’ll have to watch for the wrestling prowess of these ladies and that’s not a bad thing but as you can understand it won’t be quite as much fun as if the boys were playing.  Yet, it’s not so much because they’re girls, it’s because I’m not attracted to them. Conversely, this could be cause to conjecture that the viewership

Yeah RAW Says They Got It But It's SmackDown Who Holds It Down...

A Good Tuesday to You, Enthusiasts. So, we are given pause to contemplate the condition of Roman Reigns and on that, I’ll say this.   When news about the WWE breaks, it all depends on where and when you hear it.   This news was delivered on RAW and news feeds didn’t seem to pick it up until after which leads me to believe there may be some sort of angle.   Now, to what degree I can’t say.   All I know is that real news from the WWE tends to hit the news feed first.   I suspect some Kayfabery but that doesn’t mean there isn’t a real concern regarding Roman Reigns.   I just get the feeling it’s in “none of our business” territory but it is of some gravity nonetheless so have a care and give the man some space.   That I can do but I just hope they’re careful with this.   Plenty wouldn’t be too pleased to be fooled in this way, to say the least.   Let's just say I’m not buying this one completely but I get that something is up. In any case, SmackDown has the tall task of no

Don't Worry...RAW Has It All Under Control...

Greetings Enthusiasts, Well, lead-up to Crown Jewel is certainly getting interesting.  With much of the roster stating their discomfort and the status of some top stars “questionable”, it’s very hard to discern what’s going to happen.  Not sure if this is good or bad for Evolution because it may get overshadowed with all the surrounding news. Nevertheless, it is technically the Go-Home show for the all Women PPV and we’ll see how RAW will set us up for it.  Again, with all the distractions it will be interesting to see how the WWE establishes a train of thought. Moreover, with incoming news of FOX wanting the WWE to go more with the sports theme, we’ll also start to see how the WWE starts to sell this stuff more believably.  Does that mean we’ll finally get some to comparable ladies to face Nia Jax? Will matches actually have to be “earned” as opposed to arbitrarily decided?  It’s all hard to say.  We will stay posted. As for tonight, it’s also kinda hard to figure what we can e

Yeah Well, It's SmackDown's Turn Tonight!...

Good Evening, Enthusiasts! So, I had a hell of a time trying to stream RAW last night so, I’ll be catching up when I can later.   Hopefully the Gods are kind and allow ample streaming for me tonight for SmackDown 1000 .   The WWE does seem like it will somehow last in some shape or form for eternity.   I can’t help but admit that I too am getting old and I started watching when I was in high school.   It is older than me and it may very well, outlive me.   It’s kinda humbling when you think of it.     So, naturally the night will be filled with festivities.   The old school Evolution with Triple H, Dave Batista, Ric Flair and Randy Orton are set to reassemble.   The UnderTaker is gonna suit up for some reminiscing.   And there’s actually going to be a couple World Cup qualifying matches for the Crown Jewel event.   We’ll see how they cram this all into 2 hours. As for Crown Jewel, as more information comes out on this slain journalist, I would find it more and more politi

Whatever Happens, RAW Is Here!

Merry Monday to You, Enthusiasts! So, the news that seems to be buzzing about the WWE currently is whether or not the Saudi Arabia Crown Jewel show is going to continue in light of this journalist potentially having been slain by Saudi hands within their consulate.   That’s bad PR and it’s understandable if the WWE feels the need to backtrack.   Personally, if they pull out of Saudi Arabia, I think they should still have the show.   They should shop around and see if there’s a venue available stateside and either keep it on Nov. 2 nd or if they can, bump it to that Sunday, Nov. 4 th and treat it like the exhibition PPV it still is. I was going to try to watch anyway but my point is that we shouldn’t have to miss out on the fun because some unrelated event went down.   If they can swing it, the show should still go on and I find wondering where they land somewhat exciting.   They should use this anticipation to their advantage. In any case, for tonight there’s not much advert

Guess SmackDown Is Just Supposed to StandBy and Make Sure Crown Jewel Actually Happens....

A Good Tuesday to You, Enthusiasts! So, RAW was fun in a very experimental sort of way which I found refreshing.   You know if you watch this stuff long enough, you begin to pick up on the patterns.   It was nice to see how they’re taking this interim time, meaning since we have a bunch of exhibitions on display currently (hard to classify Evolution just yet) they’re taking advantage and seeing what works and what doesn’t.   Lio Rush hyping Bobby Lashley via mic during the match was a great example.   Thought it was going to annoy me and it may do just that for some but I was brought around by the end of the match.   The same goes for the Tag Team action with Bobby Roode & Chad Gable dancing with The Ascension.   The Ascension’s shtick is actually starting to land.   It was nice to see.   Remember, I just call it like I see it.   If someone changes my mind, all power to them.   I love being proved wrong.   If I’m wrong, let me know.   I don’t need to be “right”.   I just see

ShowDown Done. RAW Now Takes Us to the Crown Jewel...

Greetings Enthusiasts! How are you this Monday?   So, the Super ShowDown is over and done with and it wasn’t bad for an exhibition.   I think everyone went out there with good intentions.   I think Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte and The SHIELD vs. the “Dogs of War” were the matches that best nailed the theme.   It looked like they came out to play and it read well.   The main event with Triple H vs. The Undertaker wasn’t that bad but it wasn’t all that fun to watch, at least not for me.   It was just a little too clear that these people are pushing 60. Not to mention The Undertaker not being in the best shape.   Just comes off kinda desperate but, at the same time, I know a lot of people would watch these matches even if the old-timers were wheeled out in wheelchairs so, it’s hard to say where to draw the line.   Personally, I say it’s fine as long as they look the part.   So, if they hold up like R-Truth or Batista and can still pull off 35 or 40, though both are almost 50-y

Oh Yeah...Wasn't There Some Sort of "Super ShowDown"?...

A Good Weekend to You, Enthusiasts! So, I’m sure many of you already know what went down at the Super ShowDown but since it came on at like 2am, I wasn’t about to get up and watch, especially since I’m on vacay.   But…since I’m on vacay, I do have some time to sit down and watch so, that’s what I’m gonna do.   At 7pmPDT I’m going to sit myself down and give it a gander so, if you haven’t seen it yet or are just interested on my take for some reason, go ahead and play along on the Twitter.   ‘Tis an exhibition so, I’m not too concerned with outcomes or matches, I’m just going to see if it was “worth it” so to speak.    Anyway, tweet if you’d like.   I know everyone’s doing their own thing so, I’m not expecting any one to drop plans on a Saturday night but if you’ve got nothing to do, feel free to join the fun.   I’ll be prefacing all my tweets with “RE: #WWESSD –” because I know it’s all a done deal, just throwing in these 2¢.   Join the fun if you'd like. Enjoy Your Ni

Looks Like RAW Was Too Busy to Mess Things Up. What a Load Off for SmackDown...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Well I hope.   So, RAW didn’t disappoint.   I would have to say it was a solid Go-Home show.   The appearances of note were certainly Triple H and Shawn “HBK” Michaels together again along with the Brothers of Destruction in Dad (Kane) and The UnderTaker.   Now, what I liked here was something that I found lacking with Finn Bálor when they first experimented with unleashing “The Dæmon”.   Granted these gentlemen have more experience but Bálor isn’t a spring chicken.   What Dad and Taker did was based on presentation.   They sold their fantastical entrance and though we know it’s all hocus pocus, they sold it enough that we bought it more or less anyway.   With Bálor, I’m still not buying it but that doesn’t mean it can’t be done.   I don’t want the gimmick dropped but it should be retooled a bit, brought back down to Earth.   The first attempt was great theatrically but I didn’t feel Bálor met the set-up.   Perhaps to start, this alter ego should adher

A Merry Monday to You, Enthusiasts! Don’t let having to turn in the rent get you down.   So, we are in exhibition Go Home territory and will more or less be so until Survivor Series.   Not sure what to expect but we will have a recently toned Shawn Michaels make an appearance to further hype this Super Showdown.   Ronda Rousey is supposed to be around too to box with Ruby Riott.   Good thing it isn’t Brie Bella 😉    Sounds like Bobby Lashley and Kevin Owens are set for a go as well, forget why. There’s also talk of The Shield and it’s only natural to keep stirring the pot with the “Dogs of War” but seeing how The Shield had the upper hand on the way out last week, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Heels get to make a statement of their own going into the Super Showdown.   Without that tension, how do we know who to root for?    We’ll see how they do.   Funny tweets get retweeted and as for Likes/Favorites…we’ll have to see what they offer up.   We should be stingy with ‘em but i
