Yeah, SmackDown Let's RAW Think That...

A Thoughtful Tuesday to You, Enthusiasts! How’s it going for you?   Let's get right to it, shall we.   RAW wasn’t as “snap-crackle-pop” as it could have been but given the current circumstances of things, I wouldn’t say that’s a bad thing.   If anything, I’d say this is more of an indication of the WWE taking a “wait and see approach”, with this AEW now on the scene.   As I said last night, I’ll probably partake of both just to compare and contrast and so far, I think they’ll be distinctly different enough so that we don’t have to choose.   To be honest, judging by my blog and Twitter numbers, I would say most of my viewers check-in on Thursday which suggests that consumers see this as less than “must see TV”.   They’re more than willing to watch at their leisure so, I use that as a gauge.   What the WWE has to worry about is if people stop bothering all together.   I’ve been voicing how the WWE may not want to worry too much about that because they may have to start over

A Merry Memorial Day to You, Enthusiasts! May you pay your respects in peace.   So, we all know what the hot topic is today,   Jon Moxley a.k.a. Dean Ambrose made his debut with AEW and now things just got interesting.   Personally, I thought it was interesting when I heard they signed CM Punk but getting Moxley does bring intrigue, especially since it looks like this was the plan all along.    I’m not familiar with this incarnation and have nothing against it.   I feel that the only ones who really have to shake in their boots is Impact/TNA.   This will pretty much take their spot as #2, television-wise if they secure their TV deal.     I can’t imagine people would opt for it with AEW to choose from.   The WWE should be mature in their monitoring of the situation.   Ideally, I would think they would want to build an inter-brand relationship given how it has so many former employees.   This may be shunned to begin with but given these inclusive times, to construct a brazen rivalry

Hello Enthusiasts, Is it a good Tuesday for you?   It’s one of the better ones for me, actually.   So, let’s get to it.   RAW , for all my pessimism, was actually quite fun last night.   I had a great time with it and more importantly, it seemed like the roster did too.   I think that has been one of the things missing, in all honesty.   They’ve been treating it more like work when it’s supposed to be a good time.   I won’t blame anybody.   I’m sure they weren’t sure of their direction if rumors are true that they could be overruled anyway at a moment’s notice.  Nevertheless, it looks like they’re loosening up out there and that’s nothing but an improvement. In any case, we have to discuss the new 24/7 Title.   Yes, they could have done more to create a more tasteful belt but who knows how much time they had to work on this.   I think the concept is great.   I think this will allow for a lot of fun and give a lot of those who feel like they’re just warming the bench some airti

A Merry Monday to You, Enthusiasts! Well, it may not be so merry for some of you.   Personally, I wasn’t upset with the surprise of Brock Lesnar winning Money in the Bank.   It was somewhat expected, actually.   Naturally, I was like most of you and expected it to be in the form of Bray Wyatt but with news of his baby being born the day before and JoJo (WWE Announcer) possibly having trouble with the birth, I didn’t think he’d be present.   More pressing matters to attend to.   Now, this makes sense for what they’re planning for the Super ShowDown in Saudi Arabia so, I’m expecting ratings to drop a bit until after that event.   No one is really praising this “surprise” win for Lesnar so the WWE have put themselves in a somewhat precarious position.   It’s clear that they’re angling for the Saudi Arabian event right now but with the negative stateside sentiments against that Kingdom at present, this may be a tough time to watch.   Expect the WWE to go back to old tactics that n

Greetings Enthusiasts! A good Sunday to you!   So, we all know why we’re gathered round today, to see if the WWE can get itself together enough to pull off an upset over Game of Thrones.   For those on the West Coast, we shan’t be so torn but the East Coasters may have a decision to make come 6pm. I don’t see the WWE making an overt push to counter as so much, see if G.O.T. does in fact drop the ball and have comparable fair in progress while that is publicly  decided.   I think the WWE has a shot to acquire some interest here if they’re smart in their execution.   Yet, we all know that the WWE has often shot themselves in the foot.   We’ll see if they manage to aim in a different direction. In any case, I won’t run down all the matches just the MITBs and the Title Matches.   When it comes to the titles, I think one will be scrutinizing are the ones with Becky Lynch.   Now, I have nothing against her run but I’m not completely sold on Lynch being this unstoppable force.   I’

Greetings Enthusiasts! How’s Tuesday going for you?   So, RAW was quite palatable in my opinion.   Of course an “ideal” go-home show would have been more rousing but this is a good start.   I don’t expect them to turn things around overnight but what I did witness was honest effort.   No one appeared to phone it in.   Everyone was trying to sell it and for that I’m appreciative.   Angling this downward spiral upwards is no easy task.   Everyone is going to have to have a little personal chat with themselves and see how much they’re willing to commit/invest because this will take some dedication. The up-side is that all they really have to do is learn how to have fun out there again.   I get the feeling the real answer to this WWE slump is more obvious than they may think.   They’re looking to past stars and new partnerships when they may have to double back to the basics.   Tell a decent story, make the action compelling and fun.   If the series finale of Game of Thrones tur

A Merry Monday to You, Enthusiasts! It looks like the WWE has chosen to hold their Money in the Bank “Go-Home” shows abroad this week so all the action has been previously taped. Yet, what I can’t get over, besides Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins dating, is the fact that Daenerys Targaryen basically heel-turned on Game of Thrones .  Wow!   I’ve been saying how the WWE needed to ride these G.O.T. coattails and here we seem to have the opportunity presented on a silver platter.   The only downside, most people don’t think this is a good turn for the show and I can’t say I’m completely feeling it but I am surprised at this correlation.   It is a little too bad that G.O.T. may have inadvertently lowered their bar, given their truncated season, but the WWE should see this as a chance to raise theirs to pick up some of what will be the inevitable expanse of disbanded fans.   With nowhere to go, if RAW’s fallout show is solid, who knows, they may just find themselves with a few of these di

Who doesn’t like those 😉 A Delightful Tuesday to You, Enthusiasts! I have to say I’ve certainly have had worse days.   So, for the time being we have a “Wild Card Rule” in effect where select wrestlers from either brand can show up on the opposing show.   We the Audience appear to be divided on the subject for the most part.   Again, this arbitrary move makes everything more…arbitrary.   But, my good audience, that’s kind of the thing.   The very nature of this genre is arbitrary.   It may have been harder to discern in the past but this has always been arbitrary.   What I think we really mean is that we think it generally sucks.   We can’t sink our teeth into it like we’d like to and that is the tricky bit because everyone has a different idea of how to make it better.   I think what we have to accept is that we’ve become “too aware”.   Remember, the Attitude Era happened during a time when we all were generally a lot more innocent.   Now, the children of this era have alrea

Greetings Enthusiasts! How’s Monday going for you?   There are a lot of announcements out there, right?   Baby Sussex has been born along with Baby Schumer and the MET Gala is happening as I type.   Also, it looks like it’s been decided to bring Roman Reigns back to RAW for the evening.   Not sure if it’s supposed to be an act of defiance against the McMahons or some lazy ploy to get some ratings, perhaps both but that’s what they got planned.   Besides that, we continue to see what hi-jinks  ensue for the Money in the Bank Ladder Matches. Personally, I think this is good time for the WWE to try and make fun of themselves. To be honest, we all kinda are right now.   They should simply get in front of us and own up to how they do things…unless they actually have an angle they’re trying to lay down.   A franchise like this doesn’t want to become the butt of the joke.   I feel they’ve managed to stay out of this mainly due to Kayfabe.   Since we don’t really know what’s going on
