SmackDown Doesn't Go Home, It Goes to London (Money in the Bank)...

Image
Happy Friday, Enthusiasts! It’s Money in the Bank Eve and there’s not much else going on that I can see. There’s some minor chatter but nothing to get too excited about so, this shouldn’t be a long post. Let’s talk a little bit. So, there’s some light criticism of LA Knight going around that insinuates that Knight is just a cheap imitation of Stone Cold Steve Austin and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and I have to say, I don’t see it. I mean I get it. When he gets going on the mic, it’s gold and catchy as hell but that’s about it. He’s flashier than the both of them and didn’t get his big break, career-wise, until they were starting to wrap up theirs. It’s an apples to oranges sort of comparison if you ask me.  Knight is using it to put himself on a pedestal, though. There are reports of him likening the comparison of being the Kobe Bryant to Michael Jordan so, if that’s what the people believe, so be it. I’m not quite in that boat just yet but we’ll see if his mouth can match his performan

Happy Monday, Enthusiasts. Hope it’s treating you well. As for the Wrestling World, there’s some chatter with AEW having had its Forbidden Door PPV last night. There’s a little bit going on in the WWE Universe as well but let’s start with AEW. So, in the Realm of AEW, we got a look at their “A Game” and from what glimpses I caught, it was all right. Most onlookers praised the match between Will Osprey and Kenny Omega. If I didn’t know any better, I’d say Osprey was auditioning for WWE but I could be wrong. I remembered him with a slimmer physique but he appears to have bulked up in recent years.  I don’t know if WWE fans would care about him but he did make a compelling argument from what I saw. He does know how to get a response from the crowd. Yet, you know us. We don’t care for blood and it did get “brutal”. It was clear that Omega was the Face in their bout. I respect Omega but he comes off too corny for my taste. I’m not sure how a WWE crowd would receive Osprey but he looked read

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? It’s a busy Friday for me so this upcoming weekend will feel well-deserved. There’s not that much going on in the Wrestling World but there’s a little bit to chat about. Let’s get into it, shall we? So, talk of CM Punk lingers. He made an appearance this week on AEW’s Dynamite calling out a few takers for Collision. However, rumors persist that backstage is still a shit show. Some say that it’s akin to a “ticking time bomb” so, I guess we’ll see.  Personally, I would think that is the case by default? Taking back Punk you have to be prepared for some ish to go down from time to time. He’s a moody sort and so, inevitably, he’ll be caught in a mood and the subsequent pissyness will ensue. So, if Tony Khan wasn’t prepared for that, he’s just short-sighted. They have to have a game plan for when Punk is going to be bent out of shape and be ready to hammer him back into place, so to speak.  In Punk adjacent news, April Mendez a.k.a. AJ Lee has been getting some

Happy Monday, Enthusiasts!   For those who have it off, it may be a good one indeed. I have to say, I’m enjoying kicking my feet up and just having a quiet day at home.  I have a freezer full of food I forgot about and I’m just taking this time to start making use of it. Can’t sit in there forever.   As for the Wrestling World, you guys know what the big deal is. Had me checking in on AEW actually just so I can comment and I’ve got a few things to say. Let’s get into it, shall we?   So, CM Punk is back and it appears to have gone smoothly. He humbly apologized at the opening of Collision and expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the Chicago fans. They appeared to have taken him back without incident and Punk doubled down on being CM Punk. I don’t really have a problem with it but we’ll see how other towns react and how Punk responds.   As for the show itself, it wasn’t bad. I appreciate how AEW is definitely distinguishing itself as a place for pro-wrestling, leavin

Happy Friday, Enthusiasts! How are you doing? Good I hope. It’s a 3-day weekend for some in the United States. Thankfully, I get to be one of them. As for the Wrestling World, AEW appears to have the bulk of the attention right with Collision debuting tomorrow. I may check it out just to see how CM Punk is received but in the meantime, let’s see what else is going on. Lets start in the Realm of AEW as Adam Cole has been getting some attention for his physique recently and not especially in a good way. It’s not quite shaming but Konnan feels he could get some more muscle definition. At least not get mistaken for some guy that bartends or something. Hulk Hogan has been making similar comments recently about the general look of modern wrestlers as they look like they should be “bagging his groceries” and he’s not exactly wrong.  I had a problem with Cole for just this reason. I’m not fat or tall per se, but I’m big for a woman. Thicc, I guess is what they call it nowadays, buxom for th

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Had a busy Monday myself but it went smoothly. That’s all you can really ask for. As for the Wrestling World, there are some interesting tidbits floating around. Shall we chat about a few? Let’s start over in the Realm of AEW, as we hear that Bryan Danielson/Daniel Bryan is giving a lot of creative input to Tony Khan regarding booking and storylines. It seems it’s more moral support that Danielson is offering and the positive energy appears to be doing its work as Khan builds confidence.  This sort of thing is not surprising at all. I don’t know whether Danielson has a knack for storytelling and drama but everyone knows he’s a stand-up guy. This just sounds like Danielson is growing and evolving as he should and I hope he finds the experience rewarding. Nothing really to see here 😉 In the WWE Universe, the name of the game is keeping programming on television. They’re still shopping around and Disney and Amazon are the front contenders to pick them up if C

SmackDown Has Some Explaining to Do...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Happy Friday! Well, there’s some news to talk about but not a lot so I’ll keep this post relatively short. Let’s just jump right in. Well, the biggest news that hit this week was the passing of the illustrious Iron Sheik. I only knew of him, so it’s a bit lost on me but I can always respect the end of a life, especially of one so prominent in the wrestling community. Nevertheless, he lasted longer than many who have come up through the ranks. He passed at the venerable age of 81 and so, at the very least we can take solace that he had a full life. Sincere condolences to the family. Well, as life tends to work, with every end there is a new beginning and that comes in the form of Jessica McKay a.k.a Billie Kay from the IIconics announcing her pregnancy. She has kept the proud papa private but many congratulations to the new mom-to-be. Good luck to this new chapter of life. She’ll be joining Alexa Bliss in that boat. So, that’s all I got. We’ll just take it i

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Everything is alright for a Monday? I should hope so. There’s not much going on in my neck of the woods and the Wrestling World is kinda quiet too but there are few things to chat about. Let’s get into some of it. The most interesting news appears to be a partnership between WWE and Twitch streaming services as they’re offering “side posts” to RAW while it airs live. Many feel this is an attempt to appeal to any and all media outlets as WWE continues to show that it’s always willing to adapt to the times.  Call me old school, but what I do on Twitter is about as far as I’m willing to go when it comes to a watch party. The kids these days film everything 😉 And that’s fine if that’s what you want to do. I’m a literary type when it comes to communication. I appreciate the written word and its silent accessibility. Hence the blog and affinity for Twitter. I like to sit here and type, not much else. The kids can have their life online. I prefer my privacy and

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Happy Friday! So, there’s some stuff to chat about but not much. Nevertheless, this should make for a decent post so let’s get into it, shall we? First up, in the Realm of AEW, it appears that CM Punk and AEW have come to some sort of resolution and Punk is planned to return for Collision with Ace Steel sending in texts and emails accordingly. Word is that Punk and Steel will be heavily involved in the creative aspect of this show and it will probably showcase a very soft brand split. If things go well, the delineations will become clearer. We’ll see what happens with all that. I get the feeling Tony Khan is going to learn some things the hard way but so be it. That’s the only way the lesson sinks in sometimes. Regardless, I hope this solves whatever the problem was and if it doesn’t, that’s what I’m talking about.  In the real world, WWE is making it clear that it doesn’t intend to do much competition with AEW. In venues where both promotions do business,
