Sometimes It's Good to Get RAW...

Image
A Merry Monday to You, Enthusiasts! So, for once  in recent  history  RAW is carrying this WWE Brand by churning out the more palatable PPVs and the weekly outings have been better than they’ve been in some time too.   Never thought I’d see the day.   So, now we gear up for SummerSlam and the 4-5 hours that is sure to ensue.   Let’s see how they simmer this stew. Tonight we will see a Triple Threat match between Samoa Joe, Braun Strowman and Roman Reigns for bragging rights heading into the annual wrestling smorgasbord.    Not sure how they’re going to drag this out until Aug. 20 th , but they should.   Word is that Brock Lesnar is also scheduled to appear tonight along with Paul Heyman.   No doubt there will be some shit-talk to get us lightly riled for the Fatal-4-Way showdown.   Don’t want to get too hot and bothered just yet. Also, the loose pairing of Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins I find a little interesting.   It looks like there’s a push to keep Ambrose afloat as i

That's How You Get RAW...SmackDown, What Do You Have to Say?...

How Goes It, Enthusiasts? Well, I hope.  So, RAW did its part and picked-up SmackDown’s PPV slack, is SmackDown going to double-down and hold their own tonight? Who knows but, we’ll watch and find out.  I’m sure Randy Orton or Jinder Mahal will have something to say about that obstructed view Punjabi Prison Match.  Probably should have been a Punjabi Fence Match but see how that rolls off the tongue.  We’ll probably also see Baron Corbin strut around after low-blowing Shinsuke Nakamura.  That means Nakamura has to have something waiting for him.  What do you think, Enthusiasts? Backstage blitz?  What else is happening...Chad Gable has to find his single player stride.  We’ll see if he acclimates. Also, we have The New Day as new tag team champs.  I’m sure The Usos will find a way to “congratulate” them.  These tag-teams can breathe a little easy since their match was one of the better contests at BattleGround.  Shinsuke Nakamura and Baron Corbin were decent too.  And then th

That Was BattleGround? Thought It Would Be More RAW...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Well, BattleGround left plenty to be desired, so much so, RAW has a great shot at showing up their SmackDown affiliates.   This is a prime time to start some inter-brand rivalry.   I figure it’s always been an underlying sentiment but with opposing PPVs, might as well show ‘em up if they drop the ball.   Could keep things interesting. So, what’s going on tonight?   We’ve got to see how last week’s mussed up Main Event will be handled.  We still have no clear cut #1 Contender for SummerSlam outside of the fuming Braun Strowman.   And  I’m thinking what we’re all thinking…Fatal-4-Way.   I guess they’re also teasing a potential Shield Reunion with Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins kinda, sorta pairing up.   Word is that interest for Dean Ambrose is waning.   Could making his relationship with Renée Young public have had something to do with it?   Ladies do like feeling they have a chance.   Also, this Elias Samson vs Finn Bálor mini feud could maybe get

SmackDown Not Enough for You, Try BattleGround!...

Greetings, Enthusiasts! Today we gather to view SmackDown’s PPV BattleGround .  The biggest question, will Jinder Mahal retain the title or be stripped of it by Randy Orton in the Punjabi Prison Match?  Hopefully, they let him keep it at least until Summer Slam.  Yet, I think something should happen in the swings and roundabouts and if Mahal does lose the WWE Title, it shouldn’t be to Randy Orton.  I got nothing against Orton but he’s nothing new in this regard.  I just think just about anyone else would be more interesting.   It could go to Kevin Owens or Baron Corbin or AJ Styles, or even Rusev for that matter.  Yet, I wouldn’t be surprised if Rusev gets the US Title again for a bit just ‘cause the WWE likes to poke at the less enlightened viewers with those bits of irony.  Meh, it makes for good tension if it stays within bounds. As for the rest of the fare, I would think matches of interest are probably Baron Corbin going up against Shinsuke Nakamura, could be a fun tussl

BattleGround for SmackDown or SmackDown for BattleGround?...

Any preference? 😉 Good Evening, Enthusiasts. How’s everyone doing?   Gearing up for tonight’s Go-Home show for BattleGround?   The word is that ticket sales aren’t so hot…could this be an unforeseen consequence from having PPVs so readily at our disposal with the app?   To be honest, the shows haven’t been bad.   Not compared to a year or 2 ago.   Most of you must admit it’s improved.   Am I jonesing for it like I do American Gods ? No. But I’m here bi-weekly and for the PPVs.   I’m somewhat invested and not too disappointed.   This blog was created to bitch and moan and now, I can’t bitch and moan so much.   I still do, but not nearly as much.   I think that’s a plus.  Progress is being made somewhere...not sure how to keep things relevant as we head into the future, though 😐 Anyway, we’ve got a few things to look out for, but primarily it will be the Flag Match between John Cena and Rusev.   Hopefully it won’t boil down to  Rocky 4 like it often does but I do think w

Down to the RAW & Nitty-Gritty...

How Goes It, Enthusiasts! Hope you're having a splendid Monday.  Can't say I can complain myself.  So, tonight we see the precursor to SummerSlam and we start seeing how people are going to get matched up for our viewing pleasure.  Tonight touts a Main Event of Samoa Joe vs. Roman Reigns to see who gets to tussle with Brock "Gun Jack" Lesnar for the title.  Now, to be perfectly honest, it doesn't really matter to me who wins this contest.  My thinking is we'll see everybody box at some point or another.  What I root for is an entertaining exchange.  I care not for who wins but rather an exciting contest.  Both fellows can be commended for that and "truthishly" that should ultimately be the point: a well-played match. Granted, who wins more often than not has to be taken into account to some degree but overall, we should be witnessing fun bouts of back and forth that keep us coming back for more.  The whole "sports entertainment" thing

Who Needs Balls of Fire? SMACKDOWN Is All for BattleGround!

Hi There, Enthusiasts! Well, RAW was a little more coherent than usual.  I actually enjoyed myself thoroughly as my Twitter feed should prove.  So, now we move into SmackDown territory and I have to say, I thought it was interesting that the savvy smark had to do a little recon to know that AJ Styles won the US Title over Kevin Owens this past weekend.  I suppose that's fair with RAW doing its PPV.  Starting to make House shows count a little.  Huh. Anyway, I didn't have a problem with a Canadian wearing the US Title.  I'm sure that's why it was done but now that we have a new US Champ, who does Styles tussle with now?  Could he and John Cena go for it?  Maybe Baron Corbin could jump in so he has something other than Money in the Bank to consider.   We all know Randy Orton's busy with Jinder Mahal and filming as the trade winds say.  Apparently he's down in Southeast Asia somewhere so, we won't be seeing him tonight but I'm sure they'll find som

RAW? Great Balls of Fire Will Do That...

How Goes It, Enthusiasts? So, how did Great Balls of Fire treat you?   Well, to be honest, I was a little surprised at the direction they’re going in.   I’m glad I called the good contest between Neville and Akira Tozawa.   Have to say I didn’t expect the Tag Team IronMan Match to be as fun as it was in the end.   Cesaro giving Jeff Hardy the “little brother” treatment to close had me rolling.   Yet, I’m sure many of you were confused a bit by the Ambulance Match and upset by the Brock Lesnar win. Personally, I didn’t mind the Ambulance Match until it got “real”.   Thing about trying to add realism to a genre such as this is that for the most part, We the Audience know that all of this is scripted.   So, given that, the bulk of us peruse the WWE’s offerings looking for a good time and fun.   So, to see a wrestler – doesn’t even really matter who it is but, in this case we all know it was Roman Reigns – “go to extremes” by actually trying to hurt a fellow wrester, we begin
