MITB 2025 - RAW Fallout...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Enjoying this Monday? I’m making the most of it. I took it off for some personal reasons. Got some stuff I have to tend to but it’s not so much that I can’t keep up with what’s going on. There’s a lot of chatter on the social media but it seems more than ever that most of it’s suspect but we’ve got some talking points anyway, so why don’t we just dive in, hmm? Here we go.   So, Money in the Bank has come and went. The highlight was the return of R-Truth or of Mr. Ron Killings as it appears we’re meant to now call him. The question of the hour seems to be how much of this was a work. Was the release a complete orchestration or was this an organic reversal due to fan pushback?   It's hard to say. I’d say that the timing of his release is a bit suspect. You could say that his match with John Cena was supposed to be the last hurrah but seeing how Killings was used just before the release, you’d think that if it was always intended, K...

Money in the Bank - The Ladder Matches...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Happy Money in the Bank! So, it’s that time again and this one is very much not like any other. We’ve got these new kids that are all extremely talented and the Old Guard can’t be seen. The landscape is changing and what comes to be I can’t exactly say, but it’s that uncertainty that’s exciting. Before, that was what was missing. We all kinda knew what was gonna happen or more importantly, what wasn’t going to happen. Now, who knows. Let’s get into it. I’m just going to focus on the MITB Ladder Matches because everyone else has to make it interesting. Becky Lynch and Lyra Valkyria have the most work to do if you ask me. With all the other dramatics, they’re becoming an afterthought. That said, we’ll start off with the Ladies’ MITB Ladder Match. We have Alexa Bliss, Giulia, Naomi, Roxanne Perez, Rhea Ripley and Stephanie Vaquer battling for a chance to ruin a Titleholder’s day. Anyone who’s been watching for the past decade will look at this and maybe ...

SmackDown Sets the Final Pieces for MITB...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Happy Money in the Bank Eve. Well, there are a few interesting unverified reports floating around but since they’re more or less just rumor, I’m not sure I’ll comment but we have some things to chat about. Ready to get in to it? Let’s. In the Realm of AEW, they are testing their fans' level of interest as they’re having their Fyter Fest and blessing fans with 4 hours of content on Wednesday nights. We got Part 1 this week and I believe Part 2 is set for next week. I kept my ears open to any good matches to take a look at but to check on the progress of the Future, I had to see how Jon Moxley and his Riders of Death are doing.  I took a look at Mox’s match with Mark Briscoe and I have to say it’s the first time I’ve seen Briscoe’s work up front. He’s a scrappy chap. Briscoe wore the blood this time around and Mox seemed to encourage it even “sup” upon it. Disgusting . 😉 He could be said to be egging on anyone who doesn’t like it and that should b...

RAW Tries to Keep Everyone's Mind on Money in the Bank...

Image
How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Well, it’s not the cheeriest Monday in the IWC as the WWE Universe seems to be performing a bit of purge when it comes to the roster. That’s basically the big news at the moment but we’ll start with some stuff sitting on the periphery. Ready for it? Here we go.   So, Ric Flair was documented being Ric Flair on Twitter  recently. Unfortunately, it appears his age is starting to show. In an attempt to make some Heel-approved funnies, he ended up demonstrating what it is to be out of touch with an audience, taste-wise. I can see if you’re on his wavelength, you probably would have chuckled but that sort of humor hasn’t been popular for a solid 10 years at least. It could have flown at the start of the 2000’s but not so much anymore. Proper consideration supersedes crass humor these days. We’ll see if the old dog can learn any new tricks but given this display, I wouldn’t hold my breath.   On the administrative end of the W...

SmackDown Takes Instruction on Finishing Touches for Money in the Bank...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? It’s another hot one in Southern California. Today is supposed to be the worst of it but we’ll see if this is a precursor to how the summer is going to be. As for the Wrestling World, we have some things to chat about. Probably more thought provoking than most times so, let’s not take any more time. Let’s get into it. In the Realm of AEW, the Fallout of their Double or Nothing PPV showed Jon Moxley and the Death Riders or the “Riders of Death” as I might start to call them, confidently dispatch of the rag-tag teaming of Mike “Speedball” Bailey, Mark Briscoe and Willow Nightingale. Guess the Young Bucks eating the thumbtack sneaker stomp means the loss just rolls off their backs. They resumed wreaking havoc as if nothing happened. I liked how Nightingale wasn’t taking any guff out there, though 😉 I don’t mind this, but I do hope it leads to the next chapter of rivals getting their panties in a bunch. Mox seems to be ever so subtly egging them on so, someone...

RAW Brings Us Back to Money in the Bank...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Those of you who have it off, are you enjoying the day? I just treated it like a Sunday 😉 Gotta remind myself that tomorrow’s a workday. So, both AEW and WWE were busy this past weekend. NXT went head to head with AEW’s Double or Nothing PPV. You know I won’t speak on NXT so let’s get down to the general breakdown.   I only checked out the big ole melee with Willow Nightengale, Kenny Omega, The Opps & Swerve Strickland vs. the Death Riders & The Young Bucks. It was a wonderful mess. I took note of how Jon Moxley appeared to be egging on his detractors by filming a promo bloodied, just giving them reasons. Fair enough. Keeps their attention. Otherwise, he seemed to be running at about a 5 out there.   I also took note at how The Young Bucks are starting to look half decent. They’re funny, I’ll give them that, and their synchronicity was commendable but it looks like roughhousing when they’re out there. I want professiona...

We Take a Brief Detour to Saturday Night: Main Event!

A Good Weekend to You, Enthusiasts! How are you all doing? I’m not sure how to approach these SNME shows just yet. They’re not quite a PPV but they’re not regularly scheduled like RAW and SmackDown so I’ll be playing with how I handle these. Not much has happened in the course of about 24 hours but that doesn’t mean there’s nothing to talk about. Let’s see what’s interesting. For whatever it’s worth, last night’s SmackDown did a fair job of setting the scene. The primary focus remained on Money in the Bank, as it should be, but we had Drew McIntyre battle through with Damian Priest and R-Truth gave us an impassioned promo on how if need be, he’d beat the John Cena he once knew back into him. Fine by me.  For me, however, the highlight was seeing Aleister Malakai Black and Shinsuke Nakamura throwdown. Though I playfully booed whenever LA Knight got into the mix, I thought him just playing smart rather than try to hang was a wise decision. Knight can rock the mic but his in-ring sk...

SmackDown Acknowledges the Assignment - Money in the Bank...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Ready to enjoy the Memorial Day Weekend, if that’s your lot? I’m prepping to make the most of it. May those who don’t apply find rest and entertainment. As for the Wrestling World, there are a few things going on. I’ll only talk about some of them so, let’s get into it. Then we can all get on with our lives. In the Realm of AEW, things appear to be moving along nicely. I took a look at how the Death Riders are progressing and this week’s mayhem seemed very focused. I saw a lot of good execution and teamwork all around, Faces included. Everyone seemed keen on performing well and putting on a good show. Hard to knock it. Never a bad thing when concerning the Future. The pleasant surprise for me, however, was discovering that Gabe Kidd is like a complete “hooligan”. This kid would have been striding with the crew down Green Street, if you get my drift. He may be too young to get the reference but that’s the vibe, perfect for a young cohort of Moxley’s. N...
