For Once, RAW Earned Its Keep...SmackDown?...

Image
Happy Black Friday, Enthusiasts! Did Thanksgiving go well for you?   Mine was…eye opening to say the least.   Regardless, it’s Friday and though many of us have the day off, SmackDown has to work mainly because there should be more people than usual sitting around the house.   Cold temperatures and people geared for shopping have many staying in and that’s something we should expect SmackDown to take advantage of.   Not to mention that RAW was actually quite action packed this past Monday. It was more exciting than Survivor Series, which should be reviewed by WWE higher ups, but say what you will, they held their side down.   SmackDown now has to keep pace and recalibrate us for TLC set for December. What’s advertised is scant.   Apparently Bray Wyatt will have a new addition to his Firefly Fun House.   I’m sure he’ll have some words for newly Heeled Seth Rollins.   I’ll get more into him come RAW, but I will say Rollins should have fun this time around.   I’ve been voicin

So, That Was Survivor Series...RAW Would Like You to Start Looking at Possibilities for TLC...

Happy Monday, Enthusiasts! How’s it going for you?   Did you catch Survivor Series?   I missed the first hour and Kick-off, myself.     There weren’t any real surprises outside of the main event falling flat.   I personally thought the Ladies Triple Threat would gain our attention but the crowd was not interested.   I personally didn’t mind it but I think what I didn’t really expect is Shayna Baszler not taking more of a chance in this match.   The thing about NXT to me is that they have to demonstrate that they are deserving of the spotlight.   I hear the praise and the accolades but when I sit down and watch, I’m not all that impressed.   Not to say there aren’t some solid workers in there, but compared to what is generally put out by the WWE, I’m not seeing much different.   It's definitely less polished in terms of the action.   In terms of performing a match, I’d say Ruby Riott would have put on a better one but I’ll be fair.   I know War Games was on Saturday so, perhaps

And We Arrive at Survivor Series...

Greetings Enthusiasts, Here we are again at Survivor Series and I have to say it’s a bit different this time around.   This time around, there’s more than just the big ole fights to consider.   This time around, there’s some intrigue.   There’s some curiosity because, dare I say, there appears to be some drama in play and it’s hard to say just how it will play out.   This is very promising because it would appear that the WWE does want to continue to be in this wrestling heat and is actually offering up something that may just make you want to watch. Last post, I did some pondering on the progression of Triple H and that is what appears to be driving the intrigue this Survivor Series.   I hear that Kevin Owens was persuaded back to NXT which definitely adds a different color to Survivor Series but before I get my hopes up, we do know that the WWE is notoriously hit or miss.  Can we expect any difference this time around?   I’m already feeling bad for Daniel Bryan who has t

And Then, SmackDown Led Us to Survivor Series...

Happy Friday, Enthusiasts! Hope it ’ s just as awesome as it can be.   So, let ’ s  get right to it and look at the docket for tonight.   There ’ s not much advertised for SmackDown , actually but it being a Go-Home Show, we can expect there to be some excitement.   I ’ m sure NXT will make itself known at some point.   And we can ’ t forget the Ladies.   They ’ re the only sure thing in this WWE Universe at the moment.   But today, I would like to discuss a little conjecture regarding Triple H, if I may. Since what ’ s advertised is what it is, let me take this time to expound on what I ’ d love to see with this WWE Universe in the near future.   Outside some sort of tragedy (God forbid), we can all basically assume that one day, relatively soon, we shall “ bend the knee ” to Triple H as our Chairman and as I see Bayley as Our Arya Stark, I see Triple H as our Ned Stark.   The prevailing difference, he doesn ’ t die.   I think a smart way for the WWE to proceed is to still f

So, What Does RAW Got!

Greetings Enthusiasts! How’s Monday going for you?   Well, I wouldn’t be surprised if you’re not exactly up for RAW tonight but it is the Go-Home Show for Survivor Series yet, given what’s advertised, you wouldn’t think it.   Apparently, Seth Rollins is slated to face Andrade and The Viking Raiders are set to square off with Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder.   The draw here is that the Tag Team Titles are on the line.   Not exactly what you would call “must see TV” but hopefully, that’s the ploy.   With the anti-climactic finish to Hell in a Cell still fresh, the WWE has to show that it does have a clue about what time it is.   Currently, AEW is simply pleasing viewers more than the WWE.   I wouldn’t say their content is all that much better but they definitely are having more fun with it and that in of itself is way more entertaining.    The WWE roster is looking like it’s out there working which is rarely good for entertainment.   No one wants to see it looking like a complete c

SmackDown Just Has to Stay Solid...

Good Evening to You, Enthusiasts! How is Friday treating you?   Are you ready to close up shop for the night?   Well, before you do all that, let’s go over this week’s action before we get into tonight’s SmackDown.   So, before we get into the “big” news lets dissect this Lana Saga just a little.   We all keep speculating as to why the WWE decided to go with such an atrocious angle and to be honest, all I can come up with is punishment. For whatever reason, they just can’t nail how to sell Bobby Lashley but when it comes to Lana and Rusev, the bulk of us know that they’ve been going a bit rogue for a while and I don’t blame them.   Rusev Day was over with the crowd and Creative just didn’t roll with it.   Can’t even say why, it was no better or worse than what they were doing.     So, Rusev & Lana started doing their own thing on YouTube.    Might as well, but something about this demonstration might have been too outside of WWE’s jurisdiction.    You’ve noticed how Lana

RAW Has to Clean Up Its Own Mess This Week...

Happy Monday to You, Enthusiasts! Hopefully, many of you had the day off.   I, however, was not so lucky but I won't complain.   Traffic and workflow were light today so, why would I?   So, let's get to the matter at hand.  These interesting new wrestling times continue as RAW does its UK stint amidst SmackDown nailing their show last week and AEW’s recent PPV over the weekend.    Seeing how what we last saw from RAW  was lacking inspiration, they now find themselves in a position where they must perform.   Yet, will they actually up their games?   Hmmm, hard to say.   RAW seems to operate under delusion sometimes.   That’s fine if that's the point but if they really think they’re bringing it right now, someone may have to issue a very rude awakening. Advertised information is scant at the moment.   We’ve got Lana to continue the side-drama no one asked for by dropping some sort of “bombshell”.   Get the feeling she’s “pregnant” and we may just get that Jerry Spr

SmackDown Isn't Obligated to Do RAW a Solid, You Know...

A Good Evening to You, Enthusiasts! How’s this Friday for you?   Well, tonight we get tape delayed fare from Manchester, England as we settle in for the annual UK stint.    It will be interesting how our “hooligan” brethren take to the on-going changes.  Well, since this is the UK tour, this won’t entirely be an exhibition but there will be some tinges of the sentiment.   Yes, I could go look at spoilers but I don’t need to know that badly.   I can wait. So, what awaits us?   We already know that Baron Corbin and Roman Reigns are going to throwdown.   I’m not sure if they’ve got any beef to go on besides Corbin being a heel but if they have fun with it, we shouldn’t complain.   Also, at some point tonight Nikki Cross will continue to keep a light burn on the minor feud she has with Sasha Banks and The Revival will box to keep their Tag Team Titles.   Now, RAW wasn’t particularly great this past Monday but it wasn’t bad as much as it seemed somewhat “phoned in”.   People app

NXT Thinks It's Slick!... RAW's Got Something for 'Em...

A Merry Monday to You, Enthusiasts! How’s the start of this week going for you?   Had some curve balls tossed my way but I managed to get a bat on ‘em.  As for tonight’s RAW , it’s hard to speculate what to expect.   As we remember from last Friday, the show was “mostly” on the fly and NXT took advantage of travel delays to hijack SmackDown .   A great way to throw down the gauntlet for Survivor Series so, we have to expect further infiltration and/or retaliation tonight.   The only thing that concerns me is the size difference.   NXT looks like it runs kinda small compared to the WWE main roster.   What’s to keep these guys from getting tossed into dumpsters?    I’m not too afraid of some these guys.   The Ladies will have their hands full since they appear more or less evenly matched but the guys aren’t overtly intimidating.  NXT is going to have to stay sly if they hope to be taken seriously.   As for the night’s advertised agenda, all we got is that Brock Lesnar is in the

The Roster Is Where!? - SmackDown Wings It...

A Good Friday to You, Enthusiasts! Feeling good after Halloween?   Hope it was a good one.   As many of you know, SmackDown , is gonna be running by the seat of its pants this week and that just might be what the doctor ordered.   This will be an interesting night no matter what so, I hope who’s left to put on the show aren’t paranoid about tanking it but buzzing with the possibilities.   Ideally, they want to have a bunch of fun out there tonight and if they do it right, we’ll hope for these sorts of delays in the future.   But before we get into all that, let’s just touch on this most recent Crown Jewel. I have to say that it was a solid show.   The only real complaint is that it did feel like the corporate display that it was but given the nature of the venture, I feel that should be forgiven for the most part.   I understand the cultural differences and it’s best to just default to a simple, professional presentation in these sorts of circumstances.   Perhaps in the futu
