All Right, RAW Wants to Refocus on Money in the Bank...

Image
A Good Monday to You, Enthusiasts! The quarantine continues and I suppose we have no choice but to soldier on.   And so, after praising the great Triple H last Friday, we now look to RAW to see what we have to look forward to.   Money in the Bank is a little over 2 weeks away and tonight’s action is just lightly teased according to what’s being advertised.   I suppose the most interesting bit of WWE news floating around is that we can expect to see Samoa Joe back on commentary soon.   He seems to have fun with it and it’s nice to see the WWE is willing to keep him in the game in some way until he’s cleared to return to the in-ring action.   Hopefully, we can see more of that sort of thing as everyone decides their respective workarounds for these current times. As for advertised action, we can expect to see a contract signing which means we should expect it to deteriorate into madness though that outcome has been 50-50 of late.   I don’t mind the WWE adhering to its own spec

SmackDown Invites Us to Take a Break and Praise Triple H...

How’s Everybody Doing this Friday? Well, I hope.   Guess we’re all just acclimating.   Anyway, this has been an interesting week in the wrestling world.   We’ve got some gossip to bandy about as Carmella and Corey Graves inadvertently got real on Instagram/Twitter recently.   It’s certainly a…defining moment if you haven’t seen it already.   We’ll see if they get through it I suppose but in Graves’ defense I got what he meant but he could have worded it better is all. In any case, tonight we will celebrate Triple H which I have no problem with I just would have saved this for his birthday but, I suppose that doesn’t have anything to do with when he joined the company.   So, in between a couple of Money in the Bank qualifying matches we’ll see a bunch of clips of his finer moments and I’m sure hear some comments on how awesome he is.   I have to always say that the man fooled me during the Attitude Era.   He got me livid and only when I was older did I realize he was doing h

RAW Starts to Toss the BreadCrumbs to Money in the Bank...

A Good Monday to You, Enthusiasts. How’s everyone doing?   I can only hope that everyone is hanging in there.   So, in spite of low ratings, both RAW and SmackDown have been solid of late.   They have had clear trains of thought which any longstanding viewer can attest, isn’t always a sure thing in the WWE Universe and have been very amusing.   It doesn’t seem so much like a bad high school rehearsal anymore.   It’s actually has been palatable television.   The live audience is definitely missed but they are beginning to see that it doesn’t make sense to film as if they are there and they are experimenting with promos and backstage segments because those don’t require the live feedback.   It’s just common sense. In any case, word has it that Money in the Bank will remain set for May 10 th so with a few weeks to go, the slow build continues.   We'll see how the content changes now that the roster cuts are official.   We’ll also see if they address Shayna Baszler anglin

Even in the Face of Sobering News, SmackDown Goes On...

Good Evening, Enthusiasts. Guess you can say this is a bittersweet time as we have received word of the WWE furloughs and lay-offs.   This sort of thing is sweeping across the world.   Personally, I’m surprised I was one of those who were spared myself but I always feel that it’s only a matter of time.   The bittersweet-ness comes in the circumstances.   One doesn’t have to feel too bad because this is the state of affairs at the moment.   Everyone is feeling it.   Many of my friends have faced similar circumstances.   It’s just the way it is right now.   Thankfully, we know this is temporary. As for the noted released roster members, I would say Erick Rowan, Sarah Logan and Rusev were the most surprising.   I always thought that the Wyatt Family would be revived to some degree and I suppose since Luke Harper is now Brodie Lee on AEW, I guess they figured it was time to cut their losses.   Logan comes as a surprise as she just helped sell Shayna Baszler with her “injury” and

How Are You Doing, Enthusiasts? Still hanging in there?   Do your best.   It shouldn’t be for too much longer but I understand.   Do what you can to stay sane.   So, here we are again, another Monday night when we see what the WWE has got for us this time around.   I think it will be kinda crazy for them once we’re back up and running.   Fans like us tend to get frenzied.   Many of us use this medium as an outlet for our pent-up frustrations.   That’s often best expressed through the fans’ reactions and without them, our general “release” is a bit stunted.   It’s definitely not as much fun.   I personally love reading the crowd responses to get a better sense of what’s landing and what’s not.   That’s more helpful than you think.   It allows you to be accepting or at least it should.   This sort of information allows me to accept The Fiend and other aspects I don’t care much for because I can see, someone else does like them so I don’t know everything.   It’s good to have that s

And SmackDown?...What Does Your WrestleMania Fallout Have to Offer?...

Happy Good Friday, Enthusiasts! I’m an agnostic myself but I respect the generally practiced holidays.   Is it going good for you?   Stir crazy yet?    I’ll be honest, I’m getting tired of staring at these walls.   Anyway so, for SmackDown tonight we have Braun Strowman announcing his tenure of being Universal Champion for the foreseeable future and you know what, they should have fun with that.   He shouldn’t become a bully with it but it should be clear you’re going to have do more than weigh more than 250lbs to take it off him.   He should get a little cocky.   Let’s face it, if this was any kind of realistic, there aren’t many who could actually do it.   Some of these guys do have a Boxing and/or MMA background and those guys should have the biggest chance at taking him out so, if the WWE is wise, they won’t put Roman Reigns back up there for the title just yet.    Now, that doesn’t mean Reigns goes running back to Baron Corbin, though I do believe that should be an on-

I Enjoyed WrestleMania, Surprisingly. So, RAW What's Next?...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts! Enjoy WrestleMania?   You know, I did if I may say so myself.   I would have to say content-wise they came up with the best action they’ve had in a while.   It’s too bad this WrestleMania will always have an asterisk beside it but I think it served as proof of the depth of the roster.   So, my general conjectures are true.   WWE’s Creative team doesn’t know how to best use everyone.   Let’s see if they can validate their jobs over the coming weeks. In any case, I know a lot of people loved the Firefly Fun House match but you can’t really say that was match.   It was a sort of demonstration but I didn’t mind it.   It proved a lot of my points, though so I can’t really be upset anyway.   Always nice to get some confirmation.   It showed how this gimmick should have been pitched to WWE Studios as a horror flick franchise and not really attempted as a live action incarnation.   Though people like it, you can see that it needs proper staging to have a c

That Actually Wasn't All That Bad. WrestleMania Day 2, You Got Better?...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? This a good Sunday for you?   Well, the first taped WrestleMania was actually a lot of fun.   I appreciate the cinematic element of the final matches because given the circumstances, that makes a lot of sense.   You have to present the action in a way that audience response isn’t necessary.   You either are in to what you’re watching or you’re not.   It’s for that reason, I choose Kevin Owens vs. Seth Rollins as the match of the night.   It could go great on their reel if they ever decide to do a movie or guest spot on some high action television.   Owens could be some sloppy cop with a knack for solving a crime and Rollins could be some up and coming drug dealer/gun runner trying to make a name for himself in the big city.   They could put in like Des Moines, Iowa or someplace to make it believable.   I wouldn’t pay for it but if it ended up on Tubi or something, I’d check it out. As for the main event, that match lost me at times but I get the

Here We GO! - WrestleMania Day 1

A Good Saturday to You, Enthusiasts! Ready for Day 1 of WrestleMania?   Yeah, I’m not sure how to feel either.   We don’t even know what matches we can expect to see on what days.   We’re just going in blind and hoping this is edited decently for a good watch.   Have no idea what to expect.   So, this is going to be a very short post.   Tomorrow’s will be more detailed because by then, by process of elimination, we’ll know what to expect, just not in what order. I think it’s pretty safe to assume that the Brock Lesnar vs. Drew McIntyre Match will probably show on Sunday so tonight, we’ll probably close with the UnderTaker vs. AJ Styles or maybe the Fiend vs. John Cena.   Everything else, I don’t care where they put it.   So, get nice and comfortable, stay open and let her rip.   I’m not going to hold back but I understand that this is a huge experiment.   If for whatever reason we have to shelter in place again or they simply have no choice but to tape the show, they’ll at l

SmackDown Goes, "Here Goes Nothing..."

Hey Enthusiasts! Still hanging in there?   Keep at it.   Looks like this is life for about 6 weeks.    To be honest, I’m beginning not to mind this sheltering but the one downside is that I have to stay home.   I love the downtime but I’d like to go somewhere and enjoy it, you know.   The one thing about me is that I get sick of shit and I’m getting sick of staying at home.   Oh well, guess I’ll start reading up on these “occupy your time” articles circulating online.   Anyway, we have the Go Home Show for WrestleMania tonight and I don’t think I’ve ever been so…at a loss.   I have absolutely no idea what to expect.   None.   I know what the loose plan is but as for any actual sense of what I might see, no idea.    And on top of that, no idea if that’s a good or bad thing.   In all honesty, last week’s SmackDown wasn’t bad.   It was much improved actually.   They’re starting to film these as opposed to have a live show anyway and it’s working a lot better.   I was getting a
