Well, Let's See What RAW's Got...

Happy Monday, Enthusiasts. Hope you’re hanging in there.   I suppose these times are the epitome of not having any other choice.   In any case, we come into RAW with the confirmation that Roman Reigns will chose health over risk during this CoronaVirus outbreak so all those mark-ups for WrestleMania can be officially scrapped.   Yet, the show will still go on.   So far, I’m not sure what to expect this weekend.   All I really hope is that they shoot the whole thing in a way for television and not for a live audience.   They have to stage this thing so that the action speaks for itself.   If they can manage that, I’ll be kinda impressed. But, before we get there, let’s consider tonight’s Go-Home Show.   Edge will lay down the gauntlet for the last time.   The “Dead Man” will show he still has life in him and Becky Lynch will try to convince us that she can actually kick someone’s ass and not just play the part.   It should be an interesting night.   Let’s see if it’s a fun one

Not the Greatest News for SmackDown to Work With...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? You hanging in there?   My sympathies to you if you’re in a state where you’re out of work due to the current circumstances.   This CoronaVirus is certainly having far reaching effects.   The very likes of which can be seen in this year’s WrestleMania.   The latest news could be a blessing in disguise as it is circulating that Roman Reigns is being replaced by Braun Strowman due to health concerns.   Is this the right call or does it hearken to make a call for postponement all together? Now, I hold the unpopular view that the bout with Leukemia is a work of some sort but I have also voiced that it’s to cover something else.   Given the nature of the work, I would say it’s of some concern but none of my business so I take the hint to not pry.   The gentleman is allowed some privacy.   So, in response to that, one may be offended that such a grave condition was used in such a way but that’s why I think it’s a private matter.   Who’s to say it isn’t j

Well, It's Monday...Is It Still Worth Watching RAW?...

A Good Monday to You, Enthusiasts. How’s it going?   Has the stir crazy set in yet?   To be honest, I was a little too loose last night and so I am paying for it now.   Let’s just say this is one of the times I’m thankful I can work from home.   In any case, I along with some of you are probably wondering if it’s even worth watching tonight’s RAW because the WWE has no idea what to do at the moment.   The talent can’t act well enough to do fully scripted episodes but with the action without context, it’s hard to validate taking the time.   It’s a bit of a conundrum and it’s one that the WWE has to solve or they’re not going to have too many fans left.   Now, I don’t expect an immediate mass exodus but understand what I’m really saying here.   So far, it’s becoming a little too clear what the WWE’s weaknesses are.   There’s more than the loss of fans at stake.   They have to reestablish the brand.     At the moment, they are looking amateur at best and that doesn’t help in t

Well, RAW Kinda Struck Out Last Week. Can SmackDown Do Any Better?...

Happy Friday, Enthusiasts. I know it’s kinda hard to know how to feel about these times with toilet paper so hard to come by nowadays but at least the WWE Universe is attempting to remain constant.   For some, that’s not the greatest thing because the attempt currently appears phoned in at best.   It would appear that the WWE doesn’t really know how to operate without a crowd to feed off of so, it will be interesting to see if this week’s SmackDown is even worth watching.   RAW was a definite disappointment and the lack of interest appears to be deafening.   AEW appears to be managing but they’re just a bit too “serious” for my blood.   When I say that, it’s clear that they want to make titles matter again and all that but my point has always been, did they ever matter?   The jig is up, the whole thing is scripted so titles never mattered.   We just believed that they did.   I, for one, don’t have to suspend my disbelief in this matter.   If the content is fun to watch, if th

RAW Will See If It Can Improve Upon a New Model...

How Are You Doing, Enthusiasts? These are some unique times I have to say.   Rite Aid proved to be a God send as I was finally able to buy a carton of eggs.   It’s nuts out here!   Everyone is preparing for the Zombie Apocalypse with this Coronavirus lockdown.   I don’t have any point of reference in my memory banks.   This is different.   Yet, I don’t really mind working from home, though.   That has been the most relaxing aspect of these times. You might as well lounge around and see what kind of content your streaming services have to offer.   One thing we shouldn’t be short on is something to watch. On that subject, RAW will press on at the Orlando performance center and it will be interesting what they come up with for 3 hours.   SmackDown was an interesting exercise that proved to satisfy curiosity more than I could call it a solid show so, hopefully they take the notes from that evening to heart.   All I’m thinking is that since there’s no audience to perform to, th

SMACKDOWN Decides to Keep Schedule. WrestleMania Is Not Moving...

Happy Friday, Enthusiasts! Well, it looks like the bulk of us are under mild voluntary quarantines as the Coronavirus passes through so, I supposed we’re all going to get well acquainted with our more, reclusive sides.   Walling up and binge watching anything is now expected as we occupy our time in attempt to stave off bouts of stir crazy.  Proof of this comes in the form of SmackDown relocating to the Performance Center in Florida and retooling itself for an actual episode since there will be no audience.   This is going to test everyone’s acting skills.   I suppose it’s a good thing they’re leading with John Cena.   He may have to carry the bulk of it.   I personally had the idea of implementing a sort of Breakfast Club spoof since everyone’s gotta be detained but to be honest, I don’t know what they’re going to do.   They could “reality TV” it meaning they play the Kayfabe as if it were real and “document” the backstage life.     That’s probably easiest and will probably be

All Right, Elimination Chamber. Check. Next, WrestleMania...

Image
How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Monday treating you all right?   Well, Elimination Chamber came and went and I think we can come to some fair conclusions.   Shayna Baszler is now the resident female badass so we’ll see how the ladies’ roster will adapt to the new threat.   The hope is that it prompts the best out of everyone.   This is a turning tide that could definitely give the Men a run for their money.   The Women have been solid recently, especially on SmackDown and with Baszler coming in fighting for real, the ladies are going to have to up their games and learn how to box.   Now, when I say that, I don’t need them to lace up the gloves and put on the head gear and really learn how to throw hands but learning the philosophy shouldn’t hurt.   That’s what Baszler is going in on.   She knows how to kick an ass.   These ladies know how to “wrestle”.   We’re about to see what makes the most sense out in the street.    All for it. Also, the Men’s Elimination Chamber was the seco

Here's that Elimination Chamber Everyone's Talking About...

A Good Sunday to You, Enthusiasts! And so, we have made it.   We have the precursor to WrestleMania in the form of Elimination Chamber and it would seem that this is a chance for all the less popular players to prove they ’ ve got something to offer.   With a good showing, they not only can gain more respect but TV time as well.   I don ’ t mind this at all.   I ’ m all for people giving us something to talk about.   And since we are paying customers this time around, the onus is on them to deliver anyway.   This is a bad time to have people asking for their money back. Since the very the nature of the show forces us to wait and see, I won ’ t speculate on any of the matches but I will comment on a few I find interesting.   No harm in that.   Daniel Bryan going up against Drew Gulak has some intrigue because it is practically my case and point of the evening.   Gulak has made a name for himself on 205 Live and is now getting his chance to get some more mainstream action oppo

Oh Yeah...Elimination Chamber. I'll Take a Look at That...

How’s Everyone this Friday? Good I hope.   So...we have the SmackDown Go Home Show for the Elimination Chamber and I have to admit, I’m not sure what to expect.   Not that that is anything new, really it’s just…well, I’ll say this.   I do appreciate that this PPV is giving some of the less pushed players a shot.   I think that’s promising and I think everyone should take advantage of the attention.   I can’t say viewership will be great but perhaps they should try to play it like last week’s (2/29) Saturday Night Live.   John Mulaney hosted and I get it, he looks like your tax accountant.   You don’t think it’s going to be a great time but he’s actually hilarious and that show was one of the more solidly funny episodes in a while.   I just had to give it to him.   So, if I’m scheduled for Elimination Chamber, I’m trying to go at it like that.   Expecting no one to care and then making everyone who missed out wish they watched and take the up-tick in views later on as word of mout

RAW's Real Test - Elimination Chamber Go-Home Show...

Evening Enthusiasts! How is this Monday treating you?   I’ve had worse Mondays that’s for sure.   Anyway, let’s get right to it, shall we?   So, SmackDown went there last Friday and booked Goldberg vs. Roman Reigns for what looks like WrestleMania.   Now, there is a good chance The Fiend may be intervening between now and then but as of now, he’s set for John Cena.    We may not have to prep ourselves for a Spear-a-thon just yet, but this development is compelling.   I have to give it to Goldberg, he sold his shit.   I believed him way more than I ever believed The Fiend and I appreciated his no-nonsense approach.   If you ask me, The Fiend needs to take a page out of that book.   Less of this “Mandible Claw” crap and more solid beatdowns.   That’s what this crowd unilaterally understands.   All I think of with the Mandible Claw is how unsanitary it appears.   Who knows where his hand has been?   Does he wash those gloves?     I can at least buy the Goldberg outcome. Yet, tha
