SmackDown Takes a Tour of Germany...

Image
How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Happy Friday! There’s a lot going on stateside so, expect many of us looking forward to a little escape. The WWE Universe gets another taste of Germany as WWE does its European Tour so that will be a nice change of scene. As for the Wrestling World, there’s not much that caught my attention but there’s enough in play to have a brief discussion. Shall we?   We’ll start in the Realm of AEW as they ease into this “age” of a calmer, gentler Jon Moxley. He took on Shelton Benjamin to see if Benjamin could get himself a shot at the Continental Championship and though Benjamin was the better wrestler, he just couldn’t get the job done in the end. You could say he should have zigged when he zagged so it was the sort of loss where it was understandable if he “kicked himself” afterwards.   Mox was sportsmanly enough to offer a handshake after but he wasn’t completely clean in the match. He did go for the eye poke at one point so…how “Face”...

SmackDown Wishes Us a Happy New Year...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Happy New Year! Have no idea what to expect for this one but I have a few reasons to be optimistic. In the meantime, let’s take a little look at what’s going on in the Wrestling World. It’s not much but there’s a few things to talk about. Let’s get into it.  Over in the Realm of AEW, many are trying to wrap their heads around Jon Moxley being a Face. It does appear that the Callis Family is assuming the primary Heel Faction designation and most feel that the Riders of Death in general are still Heels which sets the scene for them turning on Mox at some point but I’m not sure if that’s what the endgame actually is. As of now, Mox appears to be facing some “Karma” more than anything else. As he may have bullied others previously to “make a point” opponents aren’t feeling any restraint to do whatever necessary to get the W. This week, it was Josh Alexander who tried his hand at getting a chance at taking the Continental Championship off Mox’s hands but cam...

SmackDown Left Us a Little Something for After Christmas...

Image
How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Enjoy your Christmas if you’re one who celebrates? Have to say it was a nice night, even if I had to work today πŸ˜‰ Well, as you can imagine, it’s pretty quiet in the Wrestling World as everyone enjoys the Holidays, as they should. Given that, this will be a short post but I have a few things to chat about so, let’s get to it. In the Realm of AEW, it looks like Gabe “The Hooligan” Kidd is looking to establish himself as he picked a fight with battle weary Darby Allin. Kidd is making sure we know he’s a “bad man” as after offering a pointed promo, he proceeded to interrupt Allin’s interview to kick him down a flight of stairs. It was quite rude. We all know Allin doesn’t back down from a fight so, we’ll see how he comes back to ruin Kidd’s day. He did ask for it.  As for the Future, there’s not much to report. Jon Moxley managed to spoil the evening for a determined Orange Cassidy so he stays alive in the Continental Classic. What I find interesting here ...

SmackDown Opts for a Dash of Christmas Spirit...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Happy Friday! So, Netflix is making it a little difficult for the East Coasters with the Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua bout going on tonight. I have it on in the background but since I’m on the West Coast, I don’t anticipate much overlap but the DVR is already covering that potentiality.   As for the Wrestling World, there’s not that much going on but there is some talk floating around so, we’ll have a little gossipy chat and get on with it and so, here we go.   In the Realm of AEW, things appear to be going along smoothly. MJF made his return and I wonder how long that lasts ‘cause he should have a part to play in the Future. I feel he’d be a great person to bring about the “beginning of the end” so to speak. I’m waiting for him to take time off again, hopefully to do another film or cameo somewhere. Upon his return, his “detached viewpoint” could be what really starts things off. We’ll see if the AEW Powers That Be agree. ...

SmackDown Hands John Cena His Flowers...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Enjoying this Friday? I’ve had better and I’ve had worse so there will be no complaints from me. As for the Wrestling World, there’s not that much going on so this shouldn’t be that long of a post but I got a few things to chat about so, let’s get into it.   First, allow me to restate my thoughts on the Paramount “hostile” counter-bid to Netflix’s offer to acquire Warner Bros./Discovery. I looked into what this means exactly and apparently, the “hostile” side of it is that Paramount is essentially going over WB’s head and attempting to cut a deal with the shareholders directly. From what I gathered, this is kind of hit or miss but makes it clear that Paramount does mean business and pledges to give the shareholders a better deal if they opt to side with them.   I still don’t know if that changes anything but to me, it seems that Paramount is hoping the shareholders are more swayed by greed than principle. Not sure it’s the best s...

Survivor Series 2025 - SmackDown Fallout

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   A happy Friday to you! So, there’s some big news circulating and some other business but otherwise a quiet day in the Wrestling World. Since I have a few things to say, let’s get into it, shall we? Here we go.   As many of you probably already know, Netflix is going to acquire Warner Brothers. That is huge. It marks the end of an era certainly. In a way it’s promising because I may have full access to the Looney Tunes Library through Netflix not to mention the Matrix franchise and a plethora of other content but the question mark that hovers for our world is how will both WWE and AEW exist under the same roof?   I suppose it’s too soon to say. I guess in theory it doesn’t matter. Both have to work with Netflix but it is an interesting set of bedfellows. I’m thinking they remain separate for the most part but will that allow Netflix subscribers to view AEW PPVs without extra cost? Hmmm…I’m not opposed to that. In that respect, AE...

SmackDown Finalized Preparation for Survivor Series Last Week...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Happy after Thanksgiving to those who apply. To everyone else, a Happy Friday. Many of us Stateside have the day off and I just happen to be one of them. It’s nice to have an extra day to digest. As for the Wrestling World, there are some things going on but not that much. There’s enough to have a chat so, let’s get to it.   In the Realm of AEW the Future seems to be manifesting as it should since Jon Moxley is out there cutting promos right after the fight. Looked like he cut the one on this week’s Dynamite right after getting tapped out by Kyle O’Reilly. Maybe wiped his face with a towel and just went for it, looking and sounding crazy. This guy is gonna get himself carted away πŸ˜‰ I didn’t mind it ‘cause it did make me chuckle a bit so, I can tell it’s for play but it’s fine if others can’t make that distinction. Then those people just don’t get it.   As for the action, we get some intrigue as Moxley got himself a showdown wi...

SmackDown Keeps the Pot Simmering for Survivor Series...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Happy Friday! So, there are some grumblings in the Wrestling World but they don’t concern me much. Yet, that doesn’t mean I don’t have some things to talk about. I’ll try to keep it short but I may ramble a bit. Excuse me in advance. Let’s get to it, shall we?   We’ll spend a little time in the Realm of AEW as I had to check in on the progress of the Future. But before we get into that, I saw that Dante Martin was action so, I took a look at how he’s doing.   I called him out as an up-and-coming prospect a while back but then he got that gnarly foot injury and I wasn’t sure how he would recover. Thankfully, it seems he’s back to his high-flying ways but he was in a 6-Man-Tag against the likes of the Young Bucks or rather the Brothers Jackson and some other gentleman. I don’t recall who was on his team.   However, with talent like Martin’s, I couldn’t help but think, “Why isn’t he up against guys like Ricochet or even tha...

SmackDown Keeps Us on Track for Survivor Series...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   It’s a rainy one in Southern California. Given the time of year, it’s a good time to stay nice and snuggly inside. I’ve been making the most of it πŸ˜‰ As for the Wrestling World, there are a few things going on but nothing setting the world on fire. We’ll get into a bit of it but this shouldn’t be a long post. Not that much to talk about but enough for a brief chat. Let’s get started, shall we?   We’ll start in the Realm of AEW as they had their Blood & Guts event on Dynamite this week. All I cared about was the main event so, I checked that out. Well, I just hope everyone has their immunizations up to date because this stuff is a mess . So, I didn’t care for the “gore” but my focus, as always, is on the progression of the Future and I see that we’re getting there slowly but surely. As it should be.   Jon Moxley has been operating with some humility as one would think he’d be the final entrant, but he let PAC have the honors...

SmackDown Clears the Way for Survivor Series...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Enjoying this Friday? Getting used to the time change, if it applies? Can’t say this is the most exciting end of the week but some beneficial changes are pending on the horizon for me so, can’t really complain.   As for the Wrestling World, there are a few things going on but we’ll only touch on one issue because I keep seeing it pop up but besides that, it should be a short post. So, without further ado, let’s get to it.   As many of you may have already heard, Ridge Holland now going by his real name, Luke Menzies, has got himself fired from WWE. Word is that he bad-mouthed them on social media and the response was to be expected. Unfortunately for him, the timing couldn’t be worse. On top of that, he suffered an injury working a TNA show and may have to get neck fusion surgery. Worst case, the man is out of action for about 2 years with a family to feed and house.   The dire circumstances have forced Menzies to resort...

SmackDown Mixes Business with Pleasure Before the Big Night...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Happy Friday and Halloween! Well, there still isn’t much going on in the Wrestling World so this should be another short post. Besides, I’m sure many of you have plans so I won’t keep you. Let’s just get to the chat.   So, I checked in on the Realm of AEW to see how the Future was progressing and it appears someone over there agrees with my take on Darby Allin. He was a lot more “forceful” on Dynamite this week. He was taking it to people and using chairs and whatnot to put a dent in ‘em. That’s what I’m talking about πŸ˜‰ He’s gotta do something to stay afloat out there. I don’t mind him making it clear he means business. To tailor a Shakespeare quote, “Be he but little, he is fierce!”. I’m down.   It also appears that the Road to the Future is also getting paved as The Riders of Death appear to be branching out. I saw that Marina Shafir is set to partner up with the imposing Megan Bayne. With the headdress gear Bayne has been s...
