Wrestling Musings on Wax

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Well, first thing first. I’m sure you noticed the minor rebrand. With AI becoming more of a mainstay and whatnot I figured I might as well personalize my blog a bit. I’m also branching out. I’m sure many of you have noticed that WWE is not the focal point as much anymore. When I started this, that’s all there really was on TV anyway. I never cared for TNA. I appreciate the advances in the industry. With new options to partake of, I don’t mind if I do. I may do a full overhaul one day but for now, I’ll keep the changes subtle.   As for the Wrestling World, there’s not that much going on. Many are standing by to see how Crown Jewel goes and monitoring the situation as best they can. I’m not sure how much we can actually know but last I heard, Saudi Arabia managed to deter a drone attack so, I guess that’s comforting 🙄   Personally, if I were living in the region, the last thing I would want to do is go to a wrestling show, but wh...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Welcome to the weekend! Well, there have been more eventful weeks but that doesn’t mean we don’t have something to talk about. We got a few things we can go over. I can’t say how long I’ll be but I’ll try to keep to the point. I know everyone has other things they’d rather do. Let’s dive in.   In the Realm of AEW it appears some “sea changes” have been put into effect. Most notably, the Face Turn for the Riders of Death looks to be official. After Our Man Jon Moxley had a respectable tussle with Roderick Strong, the tides started to turn. Having defeated Strong, Mox started to make his exit, making it clear that Strong put a dent in him along with all the other matches starting to catch up as the aches and pains are getting harder to ignore. With Strong still in the ring, the supposed allies in The Dogs swarm in and jump Strong. Mox gets himself back in the ring to basically go WTF and the Dogs give him some too.   Then Gabe “The...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Happy Friday! It’s a windy one in my neck of the woods. Hope yours is going splendidly. So, there are some things we can talk about in the Wrestling World. Not that much, so I shouldn’t strain your eyes but I’ll try not to ramble too much. I know we all have other things we’d rather be doing.   As usual, we’ll start in the Realm of AEW. They’re gearing up for their WrestleDream PPV tomorrow so they combined Dynamite and Collision into one supershow as they tend to do to give everyone a chance to rest up. Naturally, I keep an eye on The Future but respectfully simply observe for the future for the time being. What I saw was quite promising.   As those familiar with the goings-on in the realm, Jon Moxley is set to face Big Mean Mark Davis. Though the story of his nickname “Dunkzilla” makes sense by the look of him, I’m going to refer to him as someone with no idea of the backstory ‘cause that’s essentially who I am.   I d...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Happy Friday! This wasn’t a bad week for me but it’s just nice to have a couple days to relax. Well, this weekend will have me occupied but at least not with the usual work. As for the Wrestling World, I would say it was a fairly quiet week. Nothing dropped my jaw and given the recent happenings, I kinda appreciate it. That said, this post should be to the point so, I won’t keep you long.   We’ll start in the Realm of AEW who generally went on a field trip this week. They took themselves to France and got to experience the joy that is the French Crowd. Per usual, my focus was on the Riders of Death. Though I am not going to speak directly on The Future for the rest of this month, that doesn’t mean I’m not monitoring its progress.   I noticed that PAC has been “canonized” as they appear to have started to initiate their entrances by placing a chair and towel in his honor. Jon Moxley even went so far as to perform a brief prayer be...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Finding some sense of peace? Yeah, it’s going to take some time. We lost a good one. As we all know, life must go on and the Wrestling World is no different. Nevertheless, there isn’t much to report yet, I took look at AEW’s Tribute Show and have some thoughts on how they might proceed and so, let’s just get into it. I shouldn’t take up too much of your time.   The Realm of AEW turned this week’s Dynamite into a tribute show for PAC who we now know as Benjamin Satterley and I have to say I had no idea how much of an impact he had. He seems to have had a “Clark Kent” quality to him in a way. In his day-to-day life, he seemed quiet and mild mannered. Very sweet and humble and just a great person to have around. If you didn’t know what he did for a living, you’d might have thought he was an Olympic Weightlifter or something. You would never have guessed he transformed into the Bastard PAC on a weekly basis.   His loss gut wrenched ...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Welcome to the weekend. Well, most of us know that this weekend is essentially for AEW as their All Out PPV is set for this Saturday. Meanwhile, WWE will be placing the final pieces for Money in the Bank down for the next couple of weeks. There’s not anything too exciting going on. A few talking points here and there so this post shouldn’t go for too long. Let’s get into it so we can get to our own pursuits.   We’re going to start in the rogue city-state of MLW this time around. Hearing that they finally got a TV deal with Tubi, I decided to check it out. It’s only an hour after all. It’s definitely low-rent programming but personally, I still like their content more than AEW’s. Something about the no-frills, outcast sensibility resonates with me. This week’s standouts came from the 日本人女たち called ヘト (H.A.T.E.) if I heard them right. 全部は日本語で , でも面白かったです。 They’re charismatic and mean. What else could you ask for? Shotzi helped introduce th...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Happy Friday! It’s not a particularly good one for me, just mixing up the greetings. The Wrestling World has a few grumblings but nothing is rattling the windows, so to speak but I got some stuff I can talk about so let’s get into to it. Shouldn’t take up too much of your time.   So, in the Realm of AEW, I would say that the future is coinciding with The Future if I’m reading things right. The match/segment order seemed to focus on the key players. The opener had Papa Christian and Uncle Edge in action. They should initiate Strike 2 when it’s time. Then Jon Moxley took a moment to speak to Will Ospreay in monologue in a backstage promo flanked by both PAC and Gabe “The Hooligan” Kidd. Nice use of vocab words, shall I say. Told ya he’s smarter than he looks.   The promo in itself was “telling” in a few ways. I appreciate how Mox is questioning whether Ospreay is really ready for the Big Time. He’s got points for a style that has a...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Welcome to the weekend! So, there are a few things we can chat about tonight. I’ll admit they primarily concern the Realm of AEW but there’ll be some spillover into the WWE Universe. Nothing too shocking, just my take as usual but I could get a little carried away so, if you got other things you want to do, you may want to circle back. It’s my blog after all, so I’m not gonna hold back. Ready? Here we go.   In the realm, we’re seeing how the future will take shape but first a couple tributes were the focal points for this week’s Dynamite. I heard that this show was going to be a tribute show for Rebel Heart initially. She’s a lady wrestler who is stricken with ALS , but I don’t know much about her. I was shocked to see that the disease has already done a number on the poor dear. She’s wheelchair bound and is losing the ability to speak. My heart goes out to her. I can see it’s a hard disease to watch someone suffer through, especially if...
