SmackDown NEVER Gets a 3-Day Weekend! Don't See Them Complaining...

Image
Greetings, Enthusiasts! How is this Tuesday treating you?   Well I hope.   For most of us, we’re getting back into swing of things yet, as far as RAW and SmackDown are concerned, they never took a break.   Though there are a couple absences, these seem warranted from time to time.   People need their rest in this business.   Last night’s action was palatable for the most part.   Seth Rollins and Jinder Mahal performed well as did the Ladies in the 7-Woman Gantlet Match.   There’s some criticism circling in regards to how the event was only given 20 minutes, though.   Personally, I wasn’t offended by the short time frame but I do see how more set-up would have probably demonstrated a better overall match but I’ll save that sort of complaint for a PPV. In any case, tonight, the Money in the Bank implications continue as we’ll see Samoa Joe and Daniel Bryan face off for a final spot in the MITB Match.   That should be interesting or at least fun since Samoa Joe is playing the bi

Takes More than a 3-Day Weekend to Keep the RAW Train from Chugging...

A Happy Memorial Day to You, Enthusiasts! I hope the bulk of you were spared from work.   So, since we got almost 3 weeks before Money in the Bank, we’ll be witnessing more set up for our first Summer PPV.   The highlight of the evening appears to be a 7-Woman Ladies Gauntlet match that will finalize the Women’s MITB participants.   Not sure where that will get set but I’m fine with this closing things out. We’ll also see how Jinder Mahal fares against a Mr. Monday Night Rollins.  They have to settle a little score from last week.   Bobby Lashley has his sights set on Sami Zayn for trivializing his family dynamic.   To be honest, that’s all you  really  could do with it though, I’m with the general consensus that in terms of “getting to know” someone, "Lashly Sisters" was equivalent to “TMI” even if none of it is true. Moving down the docket, we see that Nia Jax will start to spice up this showdown between her and Ronda Rousey.   Well, since Rousey has some Judo

They like to stay ahead 😉 A Good Evening to You, Enthusiasts! So, RAW was a bit of a mixed bag but palatable.   Perhaps it decided to take a bit of a back seat to the news of SmackDown leaving USA towards the end of next year to head over to FOX.   That is a big piece of news with plenty of potential implications yet, you’d think they’d want to solidfy RAW as the #1 Brand but SmackDown does tend to consistently make more sense so…it’s hard to say what if any reason was used.   It's certainly the better option for going into new territory.   RAW is more of an acquired taste and some of us even spit that out from time to time.   It’s hard to explain to newcomers.   SmackDown definitely has the precedence to bring on new, would-be fans. In any case, we’ll see if SmackDown continues to discreetly steal the spotlight.   The Main Event is looking like it’ll be a showdown between Jeff Hardy and Daniel Bryan.   This should be interesting because rumor has it that Hardy

RAW Is Back Stateside & Sure to Hit the Ground Running...

A Good Monday to You, Enthusiasts! So, what’s big in WWE News to start the week is FOX’s apparent acquisition of  SmackDown .   Apparently, RAW will be secured to USA Network for the time being and FOX put in a $1billion bid for the  SmackDown brand .   I’m not sure what the implications of this will be seeing how this will kind of officially split the brands but who knows, that could be a good thing.   We’ll just have to see.   Stockholders seem to love it with this acquisition there’s been a jump in the cost of shares so there’s confidence in the move but we’ll have to wait for substantiation . As for tonight, we’ll be given some other things to contemplate.   One of them will be how “real” Bobby Lashley’s sisterly love is.   Looks like Sami Zayn will be the one to get to the root of this mystery.   We’ll keep our eyes open for Jinder Mahal’s payback on Roman Reigns. There’ll also be a few more qualification matches for Money in the Bank.   And Seth Rollins will offer up

Handle-Schmandle, SmackDown Entertains. That's What You're SUPPOSED to Do...

Happy Tuesday, Enthusiasts! Well, the London crowd keeps it a bit too real for the RAW fare so, we’ll see if the SmackDown crowd can suspend their disbelief and enjoy the show.   It wasn’t a bad show last night and the crowd did applaud well-executed maneuvers but they were generally unimpressed.   We shall see if we get more of the same this evening. What’s scheduled for tonight   so far , if you haven't found the spoilers, is figuring the stipulation for the AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura showdown. Their rivalry “soured” if you haven’t noticed.   Carmella will continue to gloat over her new title with a full-on "Mellabration".   This Andrade “Cien” Almas is supposed to debut though his manager seems more interesting. And there has to be another Money in the Bank qualifying match.   That is what we’re here for, after all.   I believe were in this pseudo-exhibition state for one more week and then it’s back to business as usual stateside.   In the meantime, fu

Greetings Enthusiasts! So, the bulk of the rosters are across the pond doing their European tour and that means we’re basically in exhibition territory.   I’m sure we’ll get some more qualifying matches for Money in the Bank but the fare will probably be more camp and showy than usual to keep these “fer-reners” entertained.   We’re going to see Baron Corbin beef a little more with No Way Jose and Bobby Roode for a little Triple Threat action.   And the ladies will offer up their version with Bayley facing off against Mickie James and Alexa Bliss.   Outside of that, we’ll have to wait and see.   If you really want to know you can find the spoilers online.   We’ll see how much of this actually has anything to do with anything. As for other WWE news, I don’t know about you but this John Cena and Nikki Bella break-up is coming off more and more like BS the more I hear.   Something tells me these are shenanigans.   Perhaps this is a ploy to adapt the concept of Kayfabe for the 21 s

Why Would SmackDown Apologize? We're Usually the Only Ones Who Make Sense...

A Good Tuesday to You, Enthusiasts! So, I have to say that it appears Creative is getting tired of hearing it and actually sat down and fleshed out a show.   RAW actually had the future in mind with this Money in the Bank build and I couldn’t have been more delighted.    I’ll continue to keep my expectations low yet, I hope this isn’t a trend that fades.   It’s nice to see there is a thought process being utilized.   Look forward to seeing more of it.   I’m actually feeling anticipation.   I want to know what happens next!   I’m not sure I’ve ever felt that way about this stuff.   Could it be the “new normal”? Aw, I feel that’s too far already.   Let’s dial it back.   So, tonight, we’ll see how SmackDown seasons this meal as it has to embellish not so much overtake what’s in play.   They’ll do this with their qualifying MITB matches with Jeff Hardy taking on The Miz, not sure what’s that’s gonna look like but I get the feeling Hardy takes it…The Miz may take it back, though.   Ch

RAW Has Nothing to Apologize For...

Hello Enthusiasts! So, BackLash came and went and by most accounts, it could have ended with the opening match of Seth Rollins and The Miz.   It was a great match but the lack of depth to this PPV is the WWE’s fault.   It appears that the days of phoning it in are fading fast.   We the Audience are simply too aware to overlook what we once did before.   When the WWE presents a match like Nia Jax vs. Alexa Bliss, a lady who is literally half  maybe even a third  of Jax’s size , it’s on them to make a believable display because We generally look at that and know that all Jax really has to do is sit on Bliss if she really wants to get this over with.   This is supposed to be the “Reality Era” and the WWE has never been faker.    I hope this is a cue to get back to basics and really set up some solid Kayfabe for us to wonder about because more often than not, we’re rolling our eyes. In any case, our attention should start to get directed towards Money in the Bank which, I can’t ev

Uh-Oh, Could We Run Into Some BackLash...

Greetings Enthusiasts! So, we gather tonight to view the BackLash PPV and here, I’m a little at a loss.   Yes, I know what to expect but at the same time I don’t.   Implications are sketchy, stories are very loose so, it’s hard to know if anything will be lost or gained during this go-round.   If WWE Creative is wise, they’ll be using this PPV to set the stage for Money in the Bank in June.   That’s all this space is really for so, let’s see how they lay down this groundwork. Bayley vs. Ruby Riott will probably start things off in the Kick-off Show.   Riott has been bringing it of late so, I wouldn’t be surprised if she takes it.   Not sure what to do to help Bayley’s cause.   She may want to up her arsenal with some crazier moves so that’s she’s more generally entertaining.   Right now, she just feels like someone’s little sister playing out there.   Then there’s Seth Rollins vs. The Miz which should be interesting.   I expect hijinks when The Miz is in play so, it could go

SmackDown Keeps the Flow Going. Doesn't Stagnate. There's Always Something New...

How’s Your Tuesday Going, Enthusiasts? Well, I’ve had better but I can’t really complain.   So, RAW was actually delightful last night.   The bouts were engaging and fun.   I can always do without a 6-Man-Tag and they made this last one actually work.   Kudos as well to the closers in Seth Rollins and Finn Bálor with a nice hair-raiser of a match to please the crowd as Rollins retained to everyone's pleasure and excitement.   The fans seem to like this Rollins.   I see his ring work and I don’t mind it but I’m not fan.   Yet, I respect the man so I’ll leave it at that. Simply isn’t my cup of tea but you’re more than welcome to however much you'd like. As for tonight, SmackDown closes out Montreal and sets us up for BackLash this next Sunday with its Go-Home offering.  We’ll see if The Miz actually gets Jeff Hardy on MizTV…I get the feeling he’s not gonna buy the set-up but whatevs.   The nefarious Shinsuke Nakamura is going to demand an apology from AJ Styles for making
