SmackDown Returns to Live Action for War Games / Survivor Series....
How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?
How’d the week treat you? Meh, it wasn’t that exciting on my end but as usual, just glad it’s over. As for the Wrestling World there are some grumblings but per usual, not that it moved me much, but we have a few things to kick around. Ready? Here we go.
First, we’ll stop in the Realm of AEW and check in on this Death Riders Domination. I guess the bigger news is that Toni Storm is “retiring” from pro-wrestling. Given the nature of this disclosure, it’s pretty clear it’s a work of some sort so, we’ll let the lady do her thing.
As for Jon Moxley’s crew, I like how both Darby Allin and Orange Cassidy are doing what they can to slow down their train. Someone has to 😉 Yet, in both cases, my case and point was kinda proven. Regardless, I’ll just start with how both Allin and Cassidy are proving their chops and kinda growing on me in the process. Allin, though a solid 45lbs. wet, just won’t quit and Cassidy is a solid worker. He may have made it up to 60lbs. but he can play all day and I commend it.
Nevertheless, Allin has so little to him he can’t even bust a table upon being thrown upon it and Cassidy, though he won his match against Wheeler Yuta, he took his post match beating just the same but remained defiant so, good sticking to the principle. Yuta is also holding his own and thankfully not going the road of submissive underling. I see more that he’s young and just trying to keep his head above water. You kinda feel for him. He’s young yet, he’ll be alright.
As for our slight protagonists, I don’t know how they hope to factor in stopping Moxley’s runaway train but I just hope they have fun trying. The pacing is beginning to feel right, so all they have to do is have fun filling in these blanks until they’re ready to pull the more engaging triggers. I’m rooting for them.
Over in the WWE Universe, there was a bit of info that seemed interesting as it appears that WWE officially trademarked “EDGE” so, I’m not sure if that’s tying up a loose end or a tip off of Adam Copeland’s return but that did happen recently.
I don’t really need to see Copeland wrestle but I like him in the mix so, if he were to return to WWE, I would like to see him more like a counter to Wade Barrett and maybe try out announcing? He too could be semi-active and when the action allowed, he could get into it. Maybe back someone or break up stuff but I don’t need to see him out there working hard every week but I wouldn’t mind him on TV. We’ll see if it’s anything past administrative.
As for tonight’s SmackDown, looks like we’re back to live action tonight as we continue to standby and see how War Games/Survivor Series shapes up. Bayley and Naomi will team up and help get the new kids up to speed as they face Candace LaRae and Tiffany Stratton. LA Knight will take up business with Santos Escobar. Bianca Belair will workshop the likes of Blair Davenport and Chelsea Green in a Triple Threat match for the Women’s United States Championship. And at some point, Cody Rhodes will see what Kevin Owens’ problem continues to be.
The Unofficial Watch Party will be at 8pm PST. If you don’t have any other plans, feel free to join in. It’s something to do.
See You in a Bit,
-Nicole Alexis (^_~)
