Survivor Series / War Games - RAW Fallout 2024

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   How’s it feel to be back in the swing of things? That’s for my stateside readers. For the international ones, a merry Monday to you. I hope you had a good one. Mine was busy, naturally. Everything picking back up from where we left off. As for the Wrestling World, we had a fine Survivor Series this past weekend so, without any further ado, let’s do a brief review.   Some people always gripe but I found this year’s Survivor Series was a very solid show. Sure, there were some hokey moments here and there but that comes with the territory. As far as the IWC is concerned, Match of the Night went to the Bloodline Civil War / War Games. CM Punk proved his worth but coming out and showing us how we’re supposed to go at this. Sure, it’s for play-play but it’s a competition nonetheless. Nothing wrong with some gnashed teeth. The Intercontinental Championship Triple Threat took silver with the Ladies’ War Games closing out the podium with bronze. ...

Survivor Series / War Games 2024 - Matches of Interest...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? It’s another Survivor Series and I have to say I’m a little more excited than in previous years. The card is looking good and there’s good hype/momentum going in. It’s been a while since there’s been proper set up. It’s all very promising. Never would have thought to see it in my lifetime. Was sure I’d be talking shit forever. In any case, it’s a short card so here are the matches I’ll be especially looking forward to. So, we’ll start with the Ladies’ War Game because they’ve been stirring it up for the past couple weeks. They’re all very capable women so I can’t even begin to speak on who may win. I get the feeling it won’t exactly be clean but I’m anticipating some wiliness. Someone will be caught out and a technicality exploited. I don’t really care how or who as long as it’s entertaining so all the Ladies really have to do is watch against trying too hard. I think if they just go out and have fun, they’ll have a respectable evening.  Next match of i...

SmackDown Places the Final Touches for Survivor Series / War Games....

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? For those who celebrated, did you enjoy Thanksgiving? Have to say that it was all that it should have been for my set, food, family and friends. It was a successful evening if I may say so myself. Given the holiday vibes, this post will be brief but we can kick around a few things. Let’s get to it. So, we’ll skip the Realm of AEW this week as they appear to be laying the foundation for bigger and better things for the time being and so we’ll leave them to it. As for the WWE Universe, there appears to be a few things going on. It is Go-Home week despite the holiday. Cody Rhodes got some visibility as he was a guest on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon this week. Fallon is a WWE affiliation as he tends to always welcome its stars on the show. Looks like it was Rhodes’ turn this time. He managed to get some digs on Kevin Owens while promoting this weekend’s PPV.  On the grapevine, there’s word that the plan for bringing Drew McIntyre back to the fold is ...

RAW Holds the Survivor Series & War Games Fallout....

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Well, Survivor Series has come and gone and it was a good time from start to finish. It finally feels like WWE has found a respectable stride. Thought the day would never come. Don’t even have that much to complain about.  The only real debate from the show is which match was Match of the Night. Most would say it was the Men’s War Games but I have to say I was partial to the Triple Threat between Bobby Lashley, Seth Rollins and Austin Theory. I didn’t anticipate it to be so entertaining and competitive. It was a lot of fun and definitely was the most exciting match of the evening.  I don’t mind that Theory won because I get the feeling that will probably change tonight or next week but it put him on the trajectory to be taken seriously in the future. I don’t know how seriously because though he is yoked, he’s not the biggest fellow. We may still scoff at him for a bit but he’s demonstrating that he understands the assignment night in and out...

It's Survivor Series + War Games!!!

And I have no idea what to expect. But that’s not necessarily a bad thing. WWE has been crippled by its own monotony for years so I commend the experiment but that’s just it. This is a blatant experiment. If they’ve been done in the past, it’s been quite some time so, how it will land is the big question.  To be honest, I think the key tonight may be to not try so hard and to make sure they have fun. I had the idea that they should come out with banners à la Game of Thrones/House of the Dragon but I would be satisfied with a digital version. The real thing does take time to make.  My point is, due to the uncertainty of how this will go over, they should just aim to make a good time of it. They all know what they more or less have to do out there. They have to get us engaged in faux fisticuffs. Stick to the prime directive and it should be all right. All that said, there are a couple matches I am curious about. The first of which is the SmackDown Women’s Championship match with...

RAW Goes Home to Survivor Series / War Games... Whatever That Means....

Happy Monday, Enthusiasts! I think I’ll mark Go-Home Weeks with that sort of salutation. So, how is everyone? Good, I hope. There are some things to talk about but I’ll only touch on a few of them. I’m picky when it comes to my wrasslin’. We’ll start with AEW news as they had some press recently. Last week, it was confirmed that Chris Jericho was in fact “The Bride” on The Masked Singer.  It does sound like the audience wasn’t familiar but at least he got some mainstream attention. Also in the AEW Realm, they had their Full Gear PPV last weekend. What stuck out to me was that on the polling of the best matches, the ones with WWE vets didn’t fair so well. This makes me wonder.  I’ve voiced how I feel that AEW, though liberating in some ways for those who’ve come through WWE, is technically a step back. This comes from it being a new promotion. WWE may seem a little suffocated by its legacy but it has a legacy. It’s older than most of its fans. AEW seems to be refuge for all tho...

RAW Is Gonna Coast for a Bit Ahead of Survivor Series-War Games...

Happy Monday, Enthusiasts! Hope it is treating you well. So, this week opens kind of tamely as there isn’t much to chat about. There are a few blurbs I could comment on but I don’t really have anything to get in depth for so let’s just keep this short and sweet, shall we? So, first item of note is that Kevin Owens injured his knee at a recent house show. We haven’t seen all that much of Owens but it’s always a shame when he’s laid up. Mess as he is out there, he does get the gig. Let’s wish him a swift recovery. In other news, be sure to pat Drew Gulak on the back if you see him. Word is that he’s the one who got Logan Paul into wrestling shape for Crown Jewel. Yes, Shawn Michaels threw his 2¢ in but it's sounding like that was more for show. I don’t know if Gulak will do much on-screen but whatever he can do behind the scenes is much appreciated. He shouldn’t feel bad. It’s a popularity contest for the most part when it comes to the WWE. That’s why I always suggest people view i...
