SmackDown Fallout - MITB

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Happy Friday! Well, it’s a hot one here. Are you sweltering? Where I live now, it’s near the beach so summers stay relative comfortable but not this year. It’s reminding me of my inland days. It’s hot! But the world goes on so, let’s see what’s going on about the wrestling one. We’ll start in the realm of AEW as they have quietly allowed a few contracts to expire. A couple noteworthy new free agents are CJ Perry/Lana and Ric Flair. Looks like AEW have done what they’re gonna do with them and now they are free to pursue their next endeavors.  Well, most feel Flair needs to hang it up and I don’t see WWE entertaining Perry/Lana without Miro/Rusev so, we’ll see what these 2 get into next. As usual, we wish them the best. In other AEW news, word is Tony Khan is open to speaking with Shane McMahon if he really wants to entertain a run with AEW. I don’t know if he would be there in an on-air capacity or just sit on the board but it’s an interesting collaborat...

RAW Fallout - MITB

What’s Going On, Enthusiasts?   How did you like Money in the Bank? I had fun. There are a lot of gripes floating through the IWC but what else is new.   I have to say that I’m very proud of the Ladies as those who cared to take the poll deemed the Women’s MITB Ladder Match as Match of the Night. It wasn’t perfect, by far but it was well-executed and the Ladies who could, did.   I don’t mind Tiffany Stratton winning. I see why she’s getting pushed and can see that she has a future in WWE. We shall see how she matures. Iyo Sky and Zoey Stark had some solid spots as did Chelsea Green. It’s about all she can do. Have to give props to Naomi for the splits across a couple ladders too. It was a fun match and I’m glad they just buckled down and did the job.   However, it wasn’t my favorite match of the evening. I’m glad they earned the general consensus but the Heavyweight Championship had me rolling. A lot of people are bitching about how it leaves Drew McInty...

2024 MITB - Matches of Interest

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Feeling good. This is a bit of an odd Money in the Bank as it seems tinged with sorrow as we are aware of Kevin Owens’ Mother, hopefully recuperating in hospital and the passing of Roman Reigns’ Father. It’s a tough time in the WWE Universe but as in show business, the show must go on. And so, here’s what I’m looking at this time around. First off, I feel I must mention that the only Ladies Match is the MITB Ladder Match. These days that’s a big ole 🙁 ‘cause they know they have to show fair representation. This is a bit old school if you ask me. Mia Yim and Nia Jax could have been on this card easy, even if it was just Kick Off. I can see a lot of the new ladies aren’t up to speed but there are plenty who are and there’s the time to do it so, 👎 on this planning. They know they’ve got plenty of Ladies who can hold their own. The counter argument may be who cares but I can say the same for a lot of male acts so whatever. The Ladies are just as good and gene...

SmackDown Leads the Final Dress Rehearsal Before Money in the Bank...

‘Cause someone has to 😉 Happy Friday, Enthusiasts! How is everyone? Well, there’s not much to go over tonight. It’s kinda quiet in the Wrestling World so I’ll make this brief. It’s all about Money in the Bank right now, anyway. Let’s get to what’s going on and have done. So, a couple of familiar faces re-signed with WWE recently. We can expect Chad Gable and Angel Garza to stay with us for at least a few more years as they decided to reup. I’m glad, especially for Gable. He’s done the work and did his way, more or less, and has earned our honest respect. My only suggestion, more humor. I can’t buy him as a legit heel but as a humorous one, certainly. He should definitely be more bark than bite and should kindly miss the point sometimes. I just think that would play better than him trying to be mean. I don’t buy it.  That’s all I got. Most of the other info I got, I don’t really care about so…meh. Anyway, we got SmackDown in Toronto so everyone is where they need to be for MITB to...

RAW Does 1 Last Run Before Money in the Bank...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? It’s been fun in the WWE Universe of late. Been enjoying myself. Such a great thing. See how things can be if people just think about it. It’s all I’ve ever been saying. Well, there are some other goings-on in the Wrestling World so let’s touch on a few things shall we. Here we go. First off, AEW had their Forbidden Door PPV last Sunday and it seems to have done well. It looks like the match between Will Osprey and Swerve Strickland took Match of the Night by a lot. Seems to be it was no real contest. Gonna have to see if I can find that puppy and take a look for myself. It’s got all sorts of likes and thumbs-up across platforms. Bryan Danielson’s/Daniel Bryan’s and Mercedes Moné/Sasha Banks’ matches took distant 2 nd and 3 rd . All in all, nothing to scoff at. Congratulations for a great night out. Other congratulations are also due as we have a couple of weddings to offer our Mazel Tovs to. First off, Rhea Ripley and Buddy Matthews/Murphy have made...

SmackDown Takes Care of Some Business Before Money in the Bank...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Happy Friday! It’s a warm one in my neck of the woods but I suppose that goes for most of the United States. There are a few things to talk about this evening. Not all of them pleasant but noteworthy nonetheless. Shall we get to it? Let me begin. First off, let us all pledge our humble and sincere condolences to The Bloodline and more specifically Roman Reigns as we acknowledge the passing of his father, Sika. I’m sure this came as a bit of a surprise, at least to us as fans as I only heard of his uncle, Afa, having health issues. I’ll be honest, I never saw these gentlemen in action but given the tributes I’ve seen, I’m sure they were something else. I feel for the family and they’re in my prayers and heart as they make their way through this trying time.  In lighter news, some of the veterans of the industry took mild offense at the photo of Wyatt Sicks grabbing some burgers in street clothes and taking photos with fans. The likes of Mark Henry and Bu...

RAW Commits to Money in the Bank...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Dealing with another Monday? I am and it’s not bad. Looks like it might amount to something, actually so…can’t complain. I could, but I won’t. In any case, we’ve got a few things we can discuss this evening. Are you up for it? If so, let’s get to it. So, we have to bid farewell to a long time analyst in the form of Kayla Braxton. Not sure where she’s going to but we can rest assured it won’t be to a rival promotion, AEW to be specific. Looks like we’ll see her elsewhere in journalism and we should be happy for her. May the future be prosperous and bright.  For those remaining in the WWE Universe, we have to get used to the Bloodline’s new acquisition in Jacob Fatu. Looks like he doesn’t need much of an introduction because he put himself squarely on the map last Friday to close SmackDown. I’ve seen his work before but I can’t say I was ever that impressed. He seemed a bit cuddly to me. Who’s afraid of this big teddy bear, I thought. But having stormed t...

SmackDown - Money in the Bank Fallout (2023)

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Friday treating you well? I have to say, my ship appears to be coming in so, I’ll just say, I’ve had worse 😉 There’s not that much going on in the Wrestling World that has caught my interest so, this should be a short post. Let’s start in the Realm of AEW. There’s a rumor going around that the Young Bucks may be getting tired of the AEW way. There’s a feeling that they may try for WWE in the near future. Many commenters think that may not be the wisest decision because they are far from stellar performers.  From what I’ve seen, I’d have to agree. With intense training they may be able to get up to speed but I don’t know why the WWE Universe would care about them. They’re not imposing or impressively skilled and definitely look like they work at Trader Joe’s or something. I don’t see them being taken too seriously outside of AEW. We’ll see if they come to their senses or settle for Impact. In the WWE Universe, the main focus continues to be the Bloodlin...

SmackDown Doesn't Go Home, It Goes to London (Money in the Bank)...

Image
Happy Friday, Enthusiasts! It’s Money in the Bank Eve and there’s not much else going on that I can see. There’s some minor chatter but nothing to get too excited about so, this shouldn’t be a long post. Let’s talk a little bit. So, there’s some light criticism of LA Knight going around that insinuates that Knight is just a cheap imitation of Stone Cold Steve Austin and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and I have to say, I don’t see it. I mean I get it. When he gets going on the mic, it’s gold and catchy as hell but that’s about it. He’s flashier than the both of them and didn’t get his big break, career-wise, until they were starting to wrap up theirs. It’s an apples to oranges sort of comparison if you ask me.  Knight is using it to put himself on a pedestal, though. There are reports of him likening the comparison of being the Kobe Bryant to Michael Jordan so, if that’s what the people believe, so be it. I’m not quite in that boat just yet but we’ll see if his mouth can match his perfo...

RAW Sends Everyone Home to Go to Money in the Bank (London)...

Happy Monday, Enthusiasts. Hope it’s treating you well. As for the Wrestling World, there’s some chatter with AEW having had its Forbidden Door PPV last night. There’s a little bit going on in the WWE Universe as well but let’s start with AEW. So, in the Realm of AEW, we got a look at their “A Game” and from what glimpses I caught, it was all right. Most onlookers praised the match between Will Osprey and Kenny Omega. If I didn’t know any better, I’d say Osprey was auditioning for WWE but I could be wrong. I remembered him with a slimmer physique but he appears to have bulked up in recent years.  I don’t know if WWE fans would care about him but he did make a compelling argument from what I saw. He does know how to get a response from the crowd. Yet, you know us. We don’t care for blood and it did get “brutal”. It was clear that Omega was the Face in their bout. I respect Omega but he comes off too corny for my taste. I’m not sure how a WWE crowd would receive Osprey but he looked ...
