SmackDown - Money in the Bank Fallout (2023)

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Friday treating you well? I have to say, my ship appears to be coming in so, I’ll just say, I’ve had worse 😉 There’s not that much going on in the Wrestling World that has caught my interest so, this should be a short post. Let’s start in the Realm of AEW. There’s a rumor going around that the Young Bucks may be getting tired of the AEW way. There’s a feeling that they may try for WWE in the near future. Many commenters think that may not be the wisest decision because they are far from stellar performers.  From what I’ve seen, I’d have to agree. With intense training they may be able to get up to speed but I don’t know why the WWE Universe would care about them. They’re not imposing or impressively skilled and definitely look like they work at Trader Joe’s or something. I don’t see them being taken too seriously outside of AEW. We’ll see if they come to their senses or settle for Impact. In the WWE Universe, the main focus continues to be the Bloodline Sa

Happy Friday, Enthusiasts! It’s Money in the Bank Eve and there’s not much else going on that I can see. There’s some minor chatter but nothing to get too excited about so, this shouldn’t be a long post. Let’s talk a little bit. So, there’s some light criticism of LA Knight going around that insinuates that Knight is just a cheap imitation of Stone Cold Steve Austin and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and I have to say, I don’t see it. I mean I get it. When he gets going on the mic, it’s gold and catchy as hell but that’s about it. He’s flashier than the both of them and didn’t get his big break, career-wise, until they were starting to wrap up theirs. It’s an apples to oranges sort of comparison if you ask me.  Knight is using it to put himself on a pedestal, though. There are reports of him likening the comparison of being the Kobe Bryant to Michael Jordan so, if that’s what the people believe, so be it. I’m not quite in that boat just yet but we’ll see if his mouth can match his performan

Happy Monday, Enthusiasts. Hope it’s treating you well. As for the Wrestling World, there’s some chatter with AEW having had its Forbidden Door PPV last night. There’s a little bit going on in the WWE Universe as well but let’s start with AEW. So, in the Realm of AEW, we got a look at their “A Game” and from what glimpses I caught, it was all right. Most onlookers praised the match between Will Osprey and Kenny Omega. If I didn’t know any better, I’d say Osprey was auditioning for WWE but I could be wrong. I remembered him with a slimmer physique but he appears to have bulked up in recent years.  I don’t know if WWE fans would care about him but he did make a compelling argument from what I saw. He does know how to get a response from the crowd. Yet, you know us. We don’t care for blood and it did get “brutal”. It was clear that Omega was the Face in their bout. I respect Omega but he comes off too corny for my taste. I’m not sure how a WWE crowd would receive Osprey but he looked read

Happy Monday, Enthusiasts!   For those who have it off, it may be a good one indeed. I have to say, I’m enjoying kicking my feet up and just having a quiet day at home.  I have a freezer full of food I forgot about and I’m just taking this time to start making use of it. Can’t sit in there forever.   As for the Wrestling World, you guys know what the big deal is. Had me checking in on AEW actually just so I can comment and I’ve got a few things to say. Let’s get into it, shall we?   So, CM Punk is back and it appears to have gone smoothly. He humbly apologized at the opening of Collision and expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the Chicago fans. They appeared to have taken him back without incident and Punk doubled down on being CM Punk. I don’t really have a problem with it but we’ll see how other towns react and how Punk responds.   As for the show itself, it wasn’t bad. I appreciate how AEW is definitely distinguishing itself as a place for pro-wrestling, leavin

Happy Friday, Enthusiasts! How are you doing? Good I hope. It’s a 3-day weekend for some in the United States. Thankfully, I get to be one of them. As for the Wrestling World, AEW appears to have the bulk of the attention right with Collision debuting tomorrow. I may check it out just to see how CM Punk is received but in the meantime, let’s see what else is going on. Lets start in the Realm of AEW as Adam Cole has been getting some attention for his physique recently and not especially in a good way. It’s not quite shaming but Konnan feels he could get some more muscle definition. At least not get mistaken for some guy that bartends or something. Hulk Hogan has been making similar comments recently about the general look of modern wrestlers as they look like they should be “bagging his groceries” and he’s not exactly wrong.  I had a problem with Cole for just this reason. I’m not fat or tall per se, but I’m big for a woman. Thicc, I guess is what they call it nowadays, buxom for th

A Good Saturday to You, Enthusiasts.   Enjoying the long weekend if that’s your lot? Pace yourself it’s only the beginning. We are here once again for Money in the Bank and well, it’s not the most exciting card but it doesn’t mean we won’t see good performances. To be honest, that may be the best way for tonight’s players handle today. Just be respectable out there.   I don’t run down every match but here are few that have my interest. Generally, the matches I speak on are the “matches to watch” or odd ones out that need to make some sort of splash. The first match is just that, Natalya vs. Ronda Rousey.   This is a “true grit” match of a particular kind. We all know Nattie can wrestle but she doesn’t seem to connect with the fans generally. I like her because of her prowess and I can understand her uniqueness. As you can see, I don’t exactly have thousands of followers. Yet the ones I have are either bots or long standing. I get it. I’m not everyone’s cup of tea and I don’

Happy Friday, Enthusiasts!   I hope the start of your US Independence Day weekend is going splendidly. I make the specification because I do have readers from around the world. I know, you’d think no one would care but sometimes, I do better abroad. I’ll be the first to say no one’s more surprised than me.   Regardless, the wrestling world doesn’t stop for such pithy information. Let’s chat about what’s going on for a little bit.   So, we’ll begin with non or indirect WWE news with Jeff Hardy now in treatment and cycling through the Florida legal system. Hardy issued his “Not Guilty” plea and is awaiting arraignment for next week. That’s actually a pretty fast turn around for this sort of thing. Now, don’t jump to conclusions. The name of the game in the legal system is getting the best deal not necessarily assigning proper blame, at least in a relatively minor case. Not to trivialize Hardy’s DUI but let’s just say, he’s lucky no one got hurt. Hardy’s lawyer is playing ball

A Good Monday to You, Enthusiasts.   So, there are many rumblings going round in the wrestling world. Plenty to talk about but I’ll only select a few items to discuss. Let’s not dally, shall we.   The first bit of news is the reemergence or Cesaro a.k.a. Claudio Castagnoli. He made his debut in AEW for their Forbidden Door event. With Daniel Bryan/Bryan Danielson out due to injury, Castagnoli stepped in. I’m glad that he’s working again but I wonder if AEW will run into the same problem. True, they focus more on pro-wrestling and Castagnoli can provide but will he entertain? Will it matter? It’s hard to say.   AEW may be teetering on the same problem WWE had with a bloated roster. What to do with everyone? I don’t watch AEW enough to tell if it’s hurting or helping them but the general talk tends to revolve around the same people. Jon Moxley is always popular. MJF has dropped off as the truth remains obscured. Jade Cargill is spoken of a lot as is ThunderRosa. Kenny Omega s

How Goes It, Enthusiasts?   Well, for the females in the United States, it’s a conflicted time. The legislature stemmed from the abortion case Roe v. Wade has been overturned and the legality of abortions now falls to the state in which one resides. So, me being in California, I don’t really have to worry about this but the consequence for our healthcare system is spillover from women seeking abortions from states where it is deemed illegal. Personally, I feel I’m a little too old to be too outraged by this. If I was in my 20s, I’d probably be drawing up a sign and looking for a protest but now that I’m in my 40s (yes, I am that old), my viewpoint is different.   There’s no way I was ready to be a mother in my 20s. If I had gotten pregnant, I most certainly would have terminated the pregnancy. And mind you, I wouldn’t be using that option as birth control. It would be in some “oops” scenario. The condom broke, or the dude slipped in with it off or didn’t pull out in time, so
