RAW Says We're Doing This - Night of Champions

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Welcome to Summer! The Wrestling World is relatively quiet. There is always something going on but as for anything worth a conversation I’m not seeing too much but I got a few things we can chat about. It’s not much so, it shouldn’t take too long. Let me get a bit of your attention for just a moment.   In the Realm of AEW preparations are for Forbidden Door so you could say the Future has been put on the backburner for the moment. It looks to me that PAC may be in the midst of getting prepped for what is to come but that could easily lead to a clash with Claudio Castagnoli. He may just have some time off but he seems to be less prevalent as of late. We’ll see if they work that into some drama.   In the meantime, PAC kept ring ready with the help of a similarly built bloke by the name of Jay Alexander on last week’s Collision. Jon Moxley sat in on Commentary. Mox had nothing but praise for his fellow Riders of Death so, all is qu...

All Appears Quiet. SmackDown Follows RAW's Lead to Night of Champions...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Happy Juneteenth! Not exactly sure how to properly celebrate just yet but you know, show your humanitarian side and just try to educate yourself. Always a good start. As for the Wrestling World, there’s nothing too crazy going on but I have a few things I can speak on. Shouldn’t take too long. Ready? Here we go.   Over in the Realm of AEW, things appear to be moving along nicely. MJF and Don Callis continue to establish themselves and are appropriately unconcerned with the Future. Too busy doing what they do best apparently which is all fine and good. It’s exactly what they should be doing.   I caught the big old 12-Man-Tag that seemed to be set to put that onery Mark Briscoe in his place. I’d say the best spot was between Kyle Fletcher and Konosuke Takeshita. Fletcher is more technical but I appreciate Takeshita’s realistic style and they have good chemistry so, they won if you ask me 😉   Meanwhile the Riders of Death ...

RAW Maintains the Agenda - Night of Champions (KOTR/QOTR)

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Welcome back to the grind. So…there are a couple things we can talk about in the Wrestling World. You actually may not appreciate my practical take but when you look at this stuff regularly, you just can’t fool yourself anymore in certain regards. You’ll see what I mean shortly. Shall we get to it? Here we go.   In the Realm of AEW, they pulled some double duty cranking out a Dynamite and Collision in Cincinnati, OH. Jon Moxley didn’t let his hometown down by working both shows. On Collision it was all “business” however as he had to have the Cincinnati Street Fight with Shane Taylor Promotions (STP). Mox basically had to finish what Taylor started on Dynamite.   It was a fun display. Perhaps a bit long but I appreciated the “realness” they tried to capture. STP met the Riders of Death outside and meant to leave them in “stitches”. I liked the smart thinking on STP’s part to take Claudio Castagnoli out early and they weren’t af...

SmackDown Does Its Duty. Onwards to Night of Champions!

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Welcome to the weekend! Well, there’s some rumblings going on in the Wrestling World but I wouldn’t say it’s anything too exciting but there are some talking points that have definitely gained my interest. This shouldn’t take too long but I’m not going to restrict myself so, we’ll see where we end up. Shall we?   In the Realm of AEW the Future appears to be in its infancy. This week’s Dynamite definitely had some encouraging signs. The most promising of which being Don Callis and MJF. So far, they're exactly where they should be. No notes. They understand the assignment and are on it. As you were, gentlemen. I knew I had MJF pegged right. When this gets going, it should be a lot of fun.   As for Our Man Moxley, he had himself an Ohio Showdown with Shane Taylor, frontman for what I now see is Shane Taylor Promotions (STP). I guess they’ll be dropping some diss tracks soon 😉 In the meantime, he had to serve up an ass-whooping to...

RAW Sticks to the Schedule for Now - Night of Champions

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Welcome to another week. There’s not too much going on so, this should be a relatively short post. I’ve been chatty of late because there appears to be subtle things going on but I can’t substantiate anything as of yet so remember my ramblings are all speculation. Let’s get into it, shall we?   Over in the Realm of AEW, I’d say the foundation for the Future is in the process of being laid. Yet, before that can be explored, this young faction called Shane Taylor Productions (STP) is starting a little shit with the Riders of Death. They faced them in a Trios Match and then jumped Wheeler Yuta backstage to call out Jon Moxley for the Cincinnati Dynamite set for this week. According to Taylor himself, Mox has gotten soft. Does he still have the cojones to honor a call-out? Mox’s rebuttal? You don’t want to find out.   Well, this could be a “death sentence” for STP given they’ll be on Mox’s home turf yet, that could very well be the...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Happy Independence Day to my fellow Americans. Yeah, it’s a bit of a mixed bag right now but I’ve always been in favor of the concept of this nation even though execution has always had much to be desired. Regardless, it affords me a day off and some time to relax and get acclimated to my new/temporary surroundings.   As for the Wrestling World, there’s not that much going on for me to get interested in. There’s always plenty but you know me. I’m only interested in so much. I did, however get a bit caught up with some of the goings-on in the Realm of AEW.   You may have realized that I’m only concerned with the Future and at present, that involves Adam “the Hangman” Page. This mustachioed hero isn’t having any of Jon Moxley or his Riders of Death, even if they’re lady-folk. The “shocker” was him taking out Marina Shafir this past Wednesday and it’s hard to say she didn’t have it coming. She did slap him a bunch of times 😉 Mox, ...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   A Merry Monday to you. It’s hard for me to complain about it since I have it off to take care of all this settling in business. Thankfully, when I do this again, it should be less packing up and just moving and unloading and things being delivered. This is like a sort of test run for my personal future.   As for the Wrestling World, eyes were on what turned out to be a fair Night of Champions without incident and it appears everyone made it out alive so, that’s comforting. Jeff Bezos getting married appeared to be what got the most attention this past weekend.   Regardless, I was able to check in on the state of affairs in the Realm of AEW and the Future seems to be slowly but surely manifesting. Our Jon Moxley took a moment to wax poetic as he has his sights on the crybaby that is Adam “the Hangman” Page. I can’t help but focus on the moustache when it comes to Page. He looks like a cartoon character. I keep expecting it to flip...

Moving Sucks....Gonna Have to Fly Blind...

Hey Enthusiats, Well, I've been saying I'm on the move and the move finally happened. It's not done but it's the start. I'll be moving again later in the year but this is the precursor. In any case, as you can see, that has pulled my time away from my favorite pastime. I didn't have time to even watch SmackDown.  Had to DVR it so I could catch up at my leisure. So, that's what I'm gonna do. Couldn't even check in on the Future. Let me get all caught up and I'll just see what they do with Night of Champions.  Since I've got some unpacking to do, expect me to check-in late today too. I'll see it when I see it. I'll let you know when I finally sit down and partake. Have fun and we'll talk about it on Monday. See You in a Bit, -Nicole Alexis (^_~)

RAW Keeps Heading to Night of Champions Like Nothing's Going On...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   It’s a bit uneasy for us Americans as we all are aware of the conflict in Iran. Word is that Qatari airspace is “closed” at the moment and Qatar shares a border with Saudi Arabia and so, there’s some trickle-down effect circling Night of Champions. Will it still go on? So far, it’s looking like it but a lot of people are wondering if this will be at the cost of civilian life. The situation isn’t ideal but word is that a ceasefire has been issued between Iran and Israel so we’ll see if they’ll honor it.   As of now, plans appear to be holding but if they’re going to change, it will have to be decided before Wednesday because that’s what’s supposed to be the talent travel day. It’s a mixed bag within the IWC. Most feel WWE/TKO will push ahead in the name of money but there is a general sentiment that the show should probably be cancelled in light of these tensions and the US’ questionable involvement.   This is not new territory. T...

Night of Champions - SmackDown Fallout

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Happy Friday! So, there’s some stuff to chat about but not much. Nevertheless, this should make for a decent post so let’s get into it, shall we? First up, in the Realm of AEW, it appears that CM Punk and AEW have come to some sort of resolution and Punk is planned to return for Collision with Ace Steel sending in texts and emails accordingly. Word is that Punk and Steel will be heavily involved in the creative aspect of this show and it will probably showcase a very soft brand split. If things go well, the delineations will become clearer. We’ll see what happens with all that. I get the feeling Tony Khan is going to learn some things the hard way but so be it. That’s the only way the lesson sinks in sometimes. Regardless, I hope this solves whatever the problem was and if it doesn’t, that’s what I’m talking about.  In the real world, WWE is making it clear that it doesn’t intend to do much competition with AEW. In venues where both promotions do busin...

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts!   Are you enjoying the day off if you have it? Most of us in the United States have the federal holiday of Memorial Day off and I have to say that it’s always nice to have a 3-day weekend. WWE took advantage and had a couple PPVs if you count NXT’s offering. Let’s discuss, shall we?   Well, WWE can rest easy this week as word has it AEW’s PPV, Double or Nothing didn’t quite hit the mark. I saw some comments along the lines of it being “boring” so, WWE is definitely going in the right direction as the PPVs of late have been quite entertaining. Night of Champions was no different.   Most feel the 3 rd and final “main event” with Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn battling the Bloodline in the form of Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa was Match of the Night. I just have to say that Zayn addressing the crowd in Arabic was very heartwarming. It’s always nice to have real moments like that which put the whole event in proper prospective.   Th...
