SmackDown - Lyon Style...

Bonsoir, Mes Amis! Comment allez-vous? Moi? Je vais très bien. Mais bientôt, meilleure! I’ve been learning. Took it in high school, figured I ought to finish the job 😉 In any case, we have a special French SmackDown tonight. It’s already recorded and ready to go, so let’s have a little chat and prepare for the replay. First order of business, we’ll start in the Realm of AEW. According to Matt Hardy, his brother Jeff is ready for action. Having been on the Injured List due to a broken nose, he was recently cleared. It’s hard to say when to expect him. Given there’s a lot of miles on him, many feel it may be time to hang it up. Not sure what that would do to him, really. He seems like a type that may have to do it until he dies. I don’t want to see that happen, naturally but I get the feeling it’s sort of his joie de vivre , so to speak. It gets him out of bed in the morning, I would think. It’s an uncertain time for the Hardys for sure. Let’s hope some agreeable medium is found. Back i

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Everything in its right place? You know, for the most part? Well, it doesn’t have to be all sorted out. We can take a break and partake of some wrestling. There are some things to talk about. Again, my mind isn’t blown but it’s something to kick around. Let’s get into it.   We’ll start in the Realm of AEW mainly to say, “Get well, soon…” to Darby Allin. Of all people, he gets hit by a bus. And still manages to see a show no less as well. So, we can officially say nothing to this guy. He may be 130lbs wet, but would you still be standing after getting hit by a bus? The man earns newfound respect no matter what you think of him. Let’s hope he fully recovers.   In the WWE Universe, Drew McIntyre fans can breathe a bit easier as news broke, perhaps by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, that he signed a new deal. This, I feel, is the right thing. As I’ve mentioned before, I’m not sure where else he works. He’s more of a performer than a wrestler so, I’m no

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Happy Friday! Are you enjoying it so far? As with most, I’m just glad the workday is over. Now, I can relax a bit. So, the Wrestling World has a few things going on tonight. Again, nothing too shocking but I think we can have a little fun with this chat. Let’s get into it, shall we? Let’s start in the Realm of AEW, as Tony Khan finally got into the action. He did as all CEOs of wrestling promotions do at some point and took and sold a bump. He welcomed back the infamous Jack Perry and in a moment of “clueless vulnerability”, Perry and his cronies took Khan out.  I didn’t really know how small Khan was until this display. He’s like what? 140-145 lbs on a good day? So, Khan took a piledriver and attended his other duties in the NFL alongside his father in a neck brace. He’s a good sport, I’ll give him that but I would have played it up way more. Guess he couldn’t due to previous engagements but I would be doing the next thing to traction that they do these d

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Hanging in there? Staying afloat? Whatever it is, I hope it’s working for you. So, as you know, there a few things we can talk about tonight. It’s not going to knock any socks off but it’s worth a mention. Are you up for it? Let’s break the top news down.   We’ll start in the Realm of AEW as they had their PPV Dynasty this past weekend. Given the polls circulating, looks like Will Osprey vs. Bryan Danielson/Daniel Bryan was Match of the Night. That just sounds like it would be if you ask me. Glad they didn’t disappoint.   In distant 2 nd we’ve got Toni Storm vs. Thunder Rosa and Samoa Joe vs. Swerve Strickland in a tie and it all comes down to preference after that. The buzz with Osprey vs. Danielson is that Danielson was hard selling Osprey’s devastating finisher, giving everyone a scare that he was injured but it sounds like Danielson is just doing his job. Glad to see him thriving in a new environment. All power to him.   Back in the WWE Un

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Hanging in there? Yeah, me too. So, there’s a few things to chat about this evening. Nothing too shocking but something to talk about. Are you up for it? Let’s get to it.   We’ll start on the outskirts of the Realm of AEW as Kenny Omega continues to recuperate. Omega had some praise for Roman Reigns as he feels he became a great Heel Champion. There are guys you love seeing with the title and there are guys you can’t wait to see lose the title and Reigns fell into the latter category. As far as Omega is concerned, he made watching him lose the hot ticket and he did the job well.   I will give that to Omega as with Cody Rhodes now Champion, it does feel like a new era   indeed but where does it go and does it captivate us? So far so good, but we will be watching and seeing for ourselves. This kind of crowd loses interest quickly and what the future holds is cloudy at best. We’ll see how it all develops.   In other news, I’m not quite sure h

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Happy Friday. So, I wouldn’t say it’s a slow news day in the Wrestling World but there isn’t much for me to chat about so I’ll keep this short. Let’s get into it. First item of note is that there is talk that AEW has struck a “billion dollar deal” with Warner Discovery to air AEW content for the next 5 years. There’s no confirmation on this. Word is Tony Khan isn’t saying anything so, I guess we’ll just have to wait and see. On that note, it appears that CM Punk is set to return to AEW via the Collision PPV slated for June. Naturally, the event is to be held in Chicago and is supposed to focus on our grumpy grappler. It's going to be interesting to see how this goes down. Sounds like AEW is playing up the drama to help it go over with live crowds. We’ll have to see if they’re successful. I think they can be if they have a lot of fun with it. Like I keep saying, go ahead and make Punk the “Scourge of Wrestling”.  In the WWE Universe we got an update on M

BackLash (2023) - Puerto Rico | Matches of Interest

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Well, I’m having a little bit of a time, keeping up because things appear to be changing in the streaming world. It would seem that we have to get used to the live feed. No more West Coast replay. DVR it or wait until the next day when it’s on-demand. This may be the first PPV I’ve got to go in to blind. Doesn’t mean I can’t talk about it.  So, for being one of the less popular PLEs/PPVs, this one is kinda intriguing. It’s one of those, “make or break” PPVs. People appear to be getting their “big chance”. For that, I’m going to talk about 4 matches as opposed to 3. I’ll try to be brief. Got other things to do. To start, I feel I have to say something about Bianca Belair vs. Iyo Sky. I’ve seen Sky in NXT matches and she can work a good match. I won’t say Belair can’t but her matches can run a little flat. Not sure what it is. Maybe she’s too serious or something. It feels too much like work and I have to stress how much better it is if everyone is having a

Happy Friday, Enthusiasts! I’m on the move this weekend but that doesn’t mean I don’t have time for wrasslin’. There’s not that much going on that has grabbed me but enough to have a moderate post. Let’s get into it. Let’s start out with some happy news as Pat McAfee welcomed a bundle of joy with his wife this week. I didn’t even know he was married. Not that it would lessen the moment or matter really, I just had no idea he tied the knot. Well, they now have a lovely little girl to cherish. Best wishes to the new family. Elsewhere in the WWE Universe, it sounds like Drew McIntyre has some thinking to do. Word is McIntyre is sitting out for the time being and speculation is that he may be planning on wrapping it up. Some think it may be a bargaining tactic. Well, I still feel that WWE is the best place for McIntyre.  Yet, if he wants more, intangibly speaking, AEW or New Japan may be better bets.  I don’t think of him as a skilled technician, so I don’t know if AEW is a good place and

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? First day of May treating you well? As for the Wrestling World, we got some things to chat about so let’s get right to it, shall we? So, on the periphery, the Kansas City Chiefs’ Travis Kelce has made it known that he has desires to do something with WWE. Kelce hosted Saturday Night Live not too long ago and he was very charismatic and funny so, I don’t doubt they could get him shit-talking for WWE before long. I’m all for it. Guess we should touch on the current CM Punk news as he was seen at a recent Impact taping as well. Naturally, his presence wasn’t such a fuss here. Apparently, he was well received and spent a lot of time with the talent. Not sure why Punk is making the rounds but it’s clear that’s what he’s doing. Guess just seeing what the lay of the land is before he gets back to work. Elsewhere, Naomi did make her Impact debut and word is that Mercedes Moné f.k.a Sasha Banks flew in to show support. I’m sure many feel it was the least she could

Happy Friday, Enthusiasts! I hope it is a good one for you. As for the Wrestling World, there are some things going on but most of it is not very definitive so this will be a short post. Let’s get on with it, shall we. To start, there was speculation that Trinity Fatu f.k.a. Naomi may debut in Impact this week but it doesn’t look like that came to pass just yet. Regardless, I feel we all wish her well in her future endeavors. Speaking of speculations, it’s floating around that WWE will be interested in a lot of AEW talent at the end of the year. Many of their contracts are coming up for review and if they aren’t renewed, WWE may swoop in and claim whomever it deems fit.  I think the bulk of us are anticipating the acquisition of MJF. AEW may fight for him but I don’t think they need to. He’s so young, they should let him spread his proverbial wings. As for reacquisitions, I hope for Jon Moxley/Dean Ambrose, Malakai/Aleister Black, Buddy Matthews/Murphy and PAC/Neville.  I know some of

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Monday treating you well? How about the weekend? Was it good? Hope so. I have to say mine was a mixed bag but certainly nothing to complain about. So, as for the Wrestling World, there are few piques of interest circulating. Not too many so this won’t be that long of a post. Let’s get into it, shall we? So, what’s interesting about today is that tonight’s RAW is in Chicago and you know who’s from Chicago, right? CM Punk and supposedly Punk was at the Allstate Arena “visiting”. Word is that Mr. Vince McMahon is also in attendance tonight and that when he caught wind of Punk’s presence, Punk was informed to depart from the premises, which he did without incident. Is there more to this story or is Punk just being neighborly? Hard to say. General thoughts are that Punk is set to return to AEW soon so, it could be just a whole bunch of nothing. Many feel that if Punk was asked to leave it was due to his on-going contract with AEW so, there’s that.  Well, if he w
