RAW Deals with Royal Rumble Fallout....

Image
How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Did you enjoy the Royal Rumble? I have to say I came away from it satisfied. It was generally well-executed and though there were no jaw-dropping returns I had a lot of fun and have to say it was one of the more well-rounded PPVs, especially given everything I’m glad everyone kept themselves together and had a great show.   General consensus gives match of the night to the Ladies’ Rumble. Which isn’t much of a surprise. They were forward-thinking with having Jordynne Grace on loan from TNA. Naomi is back and Jade Cargill is now available for main roster action. The Men’s Rumble wasn’t all that bad but all they had was Andrade’s return and Bron Breakker is now everyone’s problem.   Personally I enjoyed the Fatal-4-Way even though the outcome was expected I thought it was well done and it kept me entertained. Everyone looked good and say what you will about Roman Reigns, he performs without having to be exulted, meaning that though he’s the “und

Matches of Interest - Royal Rumble 2024

Happy Royal Rumble, Enthusiasts!   It’s been a mixed bag, to say the least. Well, there’s not much to talk about since the card is fairly light which hopefully means the Rumbles are a going to be jam-packed and full of surprises so, let me get into the 2 matches of interest I have. First let’s just get out of the way that given light of all the recent allegations against Mr. Vince McMahon, he read the room and resigned from WWE/TKO. He claims innocence but given his known history it’s unlikely anyone really buys that but that will be for his counsel to handle. This is a bit of a PR nightmare so I don’t blame him for not trying to hang around. It's hard to defend yourself when you’re in company like Jeffery Epstein and Harvy Weinstein and the like.   Nevertheless, it allows us to focus more on the Royal Rumble and not these unfortunate accusations. That said, let me get into the first match of interest, the Fatal-4-Way with LA Knight, Randy Orton, Roman Reigns and AJ Styl

SmackDown Does Its Best to Stay Focused on the Royal Rumble....

Happy Friday, Enthusiasts! Well, there’s certainly stuff to talk about. Shall I just cut right to the chase and get it over with? All right, here we go. So, it’s spread to the legitimate news outlets that a civil suit has been filed against Mr. Vince McMahon and the allegations are quite damning to say the least. Though many have read the complaint, I’m fine with taking everyone’s word for it. And like many commenters, please keep in mind that this is a civil suit so the Plaintiff is trying to get the agreement honored more than have Mr. McMahon charged with crimes. That would be a state matter I would think if criminal charges were to be filed. Regardless, the accounts described appear to be deplorable and it’s an unfortunate blight on this Go-Home Week for the Royal Rumble. No doubt the Plaintiff’s counsel angled for the timing of the filing. Right when there’s visibility on WWE, slam this suit down and see what happens. Though I feel for the Plaintiff, I can’t help but feel this so

How’s It Going Enthusiasts? Hanging in there? It’s wet in Southern California so staying in is preferable tonight. Not that I would be out anyway, it is a school night. Just gives me more incentive to stay put. Regardless, we’ve got some things to chat about today. Shall we get into them? Let’s. So, let’s take a brief moment to wish Kenny Omega well. Word going around is that his diverticulitis is so severe they can’t even operate. Poor guy. I suppose it’s just a restricted diet and rest to see if that clears things up. Hang in there! For those looking for an update on the beloved Big E., there’s still no timeline for this return and it looks like many of us are fine with this. We prefer his safe and complete recovery as opposed to a speedy return. A few commenters suggested that he manage the New Day to get him back on TV. I wouldn’t be opposed to this innovation. Perhaps sneak in a return at some point where he inserts himself into the action. I’m down. We’ll see what the future hold

SmackDown Preps for the Final Coat Ahead of the Royal Rumble....

Happy Friday, Enthusiasts! Hope all is going well for you. It was a busy day for me so I’m looking forward to unwinding tonight. There’s not a whole lot that’s caught my eye but there is some stuff to talk about so let’s get right to it. First thing is first. Seth Rollins is out with an MCL injury and that mucks up all the upcoming plans. Word is he’ll address his status on the next RAW but I’m thinking he’ll have to vacate the Heavyweight Title until he recovers. I’m anticipating a tournament to determine the new contenders for it. I guess this is Drew McIntyre’s chance? We’ll see what they do. They could have a lot of fun with it being up for grabs and if I were WWE, I wouldn’t have the matter settled until WrestleMania. We’ll see if they make this interesting. In other WWE Universe news, The Elimination Chamber PPV/PLE has been set for February 24th and for those of you who either get up early or stay up late, it’ll be airing at 2am PST/5am EST for the Australian crowd. Needless to

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Everything going all right in your worlds. I hope so for the most part. Let’s try to use this year to build a better tomorrow and all that. Gotta start somewhere. In any case, there are some things going on we can talk about. Want to get into it? Let’s.   In the Kingdom of TNA/Impact the “mystery” acquisition was revealed to be Dolph Ziggler at their recent PPV. I’m still a little forlorn that he was released but this is probably his only shot at fronting a promotion which is something he deserves to pursue. Though his prowess is known, he will never get a shot at the major titles in WWE as long as the likes of Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Randy Orton and all those in the same boat are around. This is his chance to be the face of a company and he should give it his best shot. Perhaps WWE will reacquire him towards the end of his career, but for now I’ll wish him well in his current endeavors.   There’s also talk from the Kingdom of TNA that Nao

Hey, How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? Life treating you all right? It’s a nice afternoon and I’m ready for the evening. Who’s with me? Well, before we get into relaxing for the evening let’s see what’s going on in the Wrestling World. Let’s get this chat over with. So, NWA (National Wrestling Alliance) is going to get some airplay as it has partnered with the CW and will be showing content on their app starting in February. I’ve only heard of them so, it’s nice to see that it can be witnessed somewhere. I may check it out if only out of curiosity. It’s always good to compare and contrast from time to time. There’s always more than one way to do something. Seeing another take only broadens the overall view. Nothing wrong with this. In other news, Matt Riddle is “spilling tea” on his 2022 Royal Rumble experience. According to him, Brock Lesnar changed the script from Riddle getting the W to Lesnar taking it. I don’t remember the match but I know I watched it. Given how Riddle never really qu

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?   Here we are in the second week of January and we have some fun things to look forward to tonight. There’s some talk floating around, not sure how valid it all is but it’s there. Shall we chat a little?   There’s speculation that both Mercedes Moné/Sasha Banks and Naomi may make returns to WWE in the near future. There was a lot of chatter that Moné was heading to AEW but that chatter died down recently and everyone is kinda standing by with bated breath to see where she ends up.   Naomi sounded like more of a done deal but I haven’t heard much on that of late so, I don’t know how valid that rumor ever was. Regardless, I don’t mind either one returning. In a way, it makes sense. As much as she should see what the world holds, I think an inherent truth was already confirmed. WWE is far from perfect but it’s the pinnacle of the industry. If you can work there, why work anywhere else?   In other yet adjacent news, there’s some talk about when

SmackDown Welcomes 2024 with New Year's Revolution....

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? The first week of the year going well for you? I’m not complaining. Definitely have seen worse. As for the Wrestling World, there’s plenty going on but only a small portion concerns me. Let’s chat a bit about the more prevalent news, shall we?  First thing going on is that Charlotte Flair had major knee surgery recently to correct her injury and the event has humbled her given her statement . It has reminded her that she is human and who knows what the future will hold or if she’ll be able to compete at the same caliber again. Let us wish her a quick recovery. That which does not kill us does make us stronger. In lighter news, it’s apparent that theThe Rock vs. Roman Reigns match is going down this year. The question is when. The obvious move is WrestleMania but there’s a lot of talk of the Elimination Chamber set for Australia, though naysayers don’t think The Rock makes the trip. Personally, I’m leaning towards WrestleMania. It’s a “big deal” kind of matc

DAY 1 - 2024

Happy New Year, Enthusiasts!   Welcome to 2024. Can’t say what it will hold and don’t know how it will compare to last year but here we are. Let’s try to make it a good one. We don’t have anything too earthshattering to open the New Year with but we have enough to have a brief conversation. Shall we?   We’ll start in the Realm of AEW as Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF) is no longer listed on their roster. There has been a lot of speculation that MJF already re-signed with AEW but for much of his tenure with the company, he has been professing the “Bidding War of 2024”. His contract supposedly expires this year and the “fight” for his talent has apparently begun. Can we expect an appearance on RAW ’s Day 1 show? I wouldn’t hold my breath but it’s not completely outside of the scope of possibility either.   I have nothing against MJF coming over to WWE. It feels like it will happen at some point, I’m just not sure if now is the best time. MJF is still young and youth generally do
