Don't Worry, SmackDown Will Only Take Up 2 Hours of Your Time...

Image
They understand you have other things to do. A Good Tuesday to You, Enthusiasts. So, looks like I called the main event for last night with Braun Strowman teaming with the likes of Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre for some payback on The Shield for their rude ambush on him last week.   So, you know what that means.   They’re going to have to tag him back.   Expect the back and forth until Hell in a Cell. As for tonight, it’s a bit sketchy since from what I could mostly gather, the advertised tidbit speaks of a tag-team match with title implications on offer for tonight.   Who has it now?   Looks like the New Day…oh yeah, that’s right.   Anyway, it may get put on the line again tonight or, implications for Hell in a Cell may be laid down. Also, we shouldn’t forget the fractured relationship between Becky Lynch and Charlotte.   Now, it’s quite clear this is just for the drama but the question that now hovers is Lynch’s status.   Is she a Heel now?   Wronged Face?   Ummm,

Unless you wait until tomorrow and watch it on the HULU. It’s only an hour and a half then 😉 Greetings Enthusiasts! So, with The SHIELD reunited there’s a bit of buzz about but, looking at tonight’s docket, it appears Braun Strowman doesn’t care.   He wants a piece of Roman Reigns…alone.   Well, I don’t see why he wouldn’t oblige.   That is why we’re all here for the most part.    Yet, if I remember SHIELD ways, they’ll probably surround and attempt to jump Strowman anyway.   But...seeing how things usually go tit-for-tat in this WWE Universe, there’s a good change Strowman kicks everyone’s ass anyway just so we have something to look forward to next week.   We’ll see what they’ll do.     In other news, it looks apparent that Brock Lesnar is in fact returning to the UFC so, Paul Heyman is going to hang around and probably help with the story-lines maybe even sidled up to Ronda Rousey since he likes backing the “real players”.     Elsewhere, Baron Corbin settles into b

SmackDown Business Was Running Simultaneously. Look into It...

Good Evening, Enthusiasts! So, how do you all feel about this SHIELD Reunion?   I noticed that a lot of people like it but I’m going to guess that the only reason they were brought back together is to break ‘em up again.   Given Dean Ambrose’s reimagining, I’m thinking that he becomes more SHIELD than ever while Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins focus more on title runs.   I’m seeing Ambrose start to see them like “sellouts”. They’re not about the Brotherhood anymore, just a paycheck and a gaudy belt. How Reigns and Rollins respond can vary but that’s where the drama lies.   How does the SHIELD progress and evolve if they are going to survive?   Will egos tear it apart?   Personally, I think Rollins will always be suspect.   I think Reigns’ character fits the “Big Dog” persona a bit too much to turn his back on the Brothers but Rollins I think will always be out for #1.   We’ll see what they do with it.   Hopefully they draw it out, add some twists and turns.   Make it feel real.

Summer Slam Is Done! Back to RAW Business...

Merry Monday to You, Enthusiasts! So, how did Summer Slam go for you?   Personally, it seemed a bit toned down for me.   It’s usually a big-fucking-deal but this time around, it was just a big deal, kinda.   It was definitely important but I remember there being more advertising and all sorts of appearances by anyone WWE related.   If that was done, they kept it quiet or local because usually these guys are all over the place.   Not so much this time around.   It didn’t take away from the evening itself but I did notice the more low-key nature of it. As for the match of the night, I would say it goes to the opener of Seth Rollins and Dolph Ziggler.   I don’t think they did anything all that spectacular but it was a solid match that set a good tone for the night.   My only real point of contention was Finn Bálor busting out the Dæmon Persona.   I don’t mind the alter ego but to get the concept to take, there has to be due process for the incarnation.   Baron Corbin didn’t do

It's Here!! Summer Slam!!!

Happy Sunday to You, Enthusiasts! So, I don’t have to tell you it’s Summer Slam!   At least 6 hours of wrestling coverage for this end of summer blowout!   Are you excited?   Meh, it’s no big thing if you aren’t but I have to say that it’s got me curious.   This is the first time I’ve been this curious about a PPV.   I really don’t know what to expect.   I don’t think it’s a bad thing because it’s clear the WWE is trying to meet us half way to some degree.   The likes of Dolph Ziggler and Seth Rollins have been getting their due.   And Samoa Joe has been putting his veteran status to good use.   Not to mention the Ladies have been doing everything they can to keep pace.   This might actually be a fun show but, let’s not get ahead of ourselves.   Let’s keep it open but too much high hoping is sure to lead to disappointment. So, what do we have in store for us?   Looks like we get some lower card tag-team action in the Kick Off with The Revival facing off against the B-Team.

SmackDown Knows How to Behave. Tends to Be the Example...

A Good Tuesday to You, Enthusiasts! I hope today finds you well.   So, the big news from last night was the return of Dean Ambrose.   He left the “Lunatic Fringe” he returns, I’d say, simply as “Fringe”.   Perhaps he’s on the fringe of Society, the fringe of Sanity but he’s definitely reading as…different.   From the looks of it, I wouldn’t be surprised if he makes a subtle heel turn.   Perhaps not so much “bad” as rogue.   He’ll see to no one, not even his “Brothers”.   That's some drama to drum up and if not with the former members of The Shield, Baron Corbin is an easy target, being a beacon representation of The Authority.   There are plenty of places this new iteration can play, we’ll just have to see if it takes. In light of that, SmackDown now has to take us into Summer Slam, dancing with anticipation.   To do that, they’re going to try to give Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville something to do.   At some point, Charlotte and Becky Lynch will give Carmella something to th

A Good Evening to You, Enthusiasts. Unfortunately, the night’s events are overshadowed by the unfortunate passing of Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart.   I did not see this gentleman in action but I am a great fan of his daughter, Natalya, and my sincere condolences go out to the family.   Natalya was scheduled for action tonight but I’m sure they’ll find a replacement as she mourns.   Such unfortunate timing, as well for tonight and tomorrow are the Go-Home shows for Summer Slam.   It’s a sad damper on what would otherwise be an exciting time. Yet, to keep us somewhat on track there is speculation that Brock Lesnar may be in attendance tonight.   It’s hard to say in what capacity and he wasn’t officially advertised but we’ll see if they bring him in as a distraction at the very least.   Also, Renée Young gets a shot at Commentary tonight as she fills in for Jonathan Coachman.   Hope she has fun with that.   In addition, on the docket tonight The B-Team find themselves in a tag-tea

SmackDown Makes Sure There Are No Loose Ends to Begin With...

Good Tuesday to You, Enthusiasts. Well, I can’t fully comment on RAW since I had connectivity issues galore but given what I did see it seems that the WWE is in a place where it usually is, trying to come up with new ways to feed us their offerings.   Now, I could be more derogatory here but I don’t see the reason, especially seeing how they’ve served up worse on the regular before.   Nowadays, I would say they’re really trying.   I see people really putting an effort to be presentable and engaging.   Does it always work?    No.   You have to liken the WWE to something along the lines of your high school or college football team taking Drama Classes.   These guys and gals aren’t generally actors.   They’re more or less athletes and half the time you get some who are charismatic.   The rest, have to work on their presentation.   That’s what we get each week.   Some guys have got their shtick together others are still working on it and each week they take a new crack at it.   We’

A Merry Monday to You, Enthusiasts! Yes, I have been away.   I had to move.   And as you all know, moving is quite the ordeal.   I did it fairly smoothly.   Starting to get it down to a science, actually.   Now, I’m settled in for the most part and ready to reestablish my sense of “normal”.   So, what do we have to look forward to tonight? From the looks of things that Rowdy one, Ronda Rousey, is up for finding an ass to break her foot off in.   Apparently, Alicia Fox’s crazy ass is up for a go-round.   She’s looking to sell the Rousey machine but I suppose it’ll be in a way that saves some face since Fox has home-field advantage.   We’ll see what they do. Also, it looks like we have a new mini feud brewing between Bobby Roode and Mojo Rawley.   Personally, I don’t mind this but what I do feel they should watch is how serious they are about this.   These 2 are kinda campy.   It’s hard to take them seriously and they may be honestly angling for some sort of legitimacy, yet
