Night of Champions - SmackDown Fallout

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?

Happy Friday! So, there’s some stuff to chat about but not much. Nevertheless, this should make for a decent post so let’s get into it, shall we?

First up, in the Realm of AEW, it appears that CM Punk and AEW have come to some sort of resolution and Punk is planned to return for Collision with Ace Steel sending in texts and emails accordingly. Word is that Punk and Steel will be heavily involved in the creative aspect of this show and it will probably showcase a very soft brand split. If things go well, the delineations will become clearer.

We’ll see what happens with all that. I get the feeling Tony Khan is going to learn some things the hard way but so be it. That’s the only way the lesson sinks in sometimes. Regardless, I hope this solves whatever the problem was and if it doesn’t, that’s what I’m talking about.

In the real world, WWE is making it clear that it doesn’t intend to do much competition with AEW. In venues where both promotions do business, the venue has to make sure that there’s ample time between bookings. The same goes for any advertising. WWE better be good and done with them before they offer anything for AEW.

This could be viewed as petty but, meh. With WWE made heftier with its alliance with UFC, it could be more posturing as to say, we don’t want any of the small stuff infringing on our status as a big deal. Some AEW diehards may scoff but I think it’s more to remember who the real big show is in town. They’re making it clear that AEW has to take the backseat whenever they’re around. Until AEW gets more clout, that’s kinda the way it’s gonna be. Feel however you want to feel about it.

In the WWE Universe, we have to send our well wishes to Braun Strowman. I didn’t know he had the issue but apparently he went in for the neck fusion surgery and naturally will be out for a time. I know a lot of people don’t care for him but I always found him endearing. He does seem like an honestly good dude and that stands for a lot in my book. I wish him the swiftest of recoveries.

In other WWE news, apparently we’re all wrong about why Sami Zayn hasn’t been going to Saudi Arabia of late. He clarified briefly that most of the speculations floating around simply aren’t true but kept the real reasons to himself. Well, let me just say that given this revelation I’ll leave it to be the personal matter that he appears to want to keep it. It really isn’t any of our business in the end but many commenters want answers. Let him keep it for his memoirs. I’m just glad he’s safe.

And so that, more or less, brings us to tonight’s SmackDown. It’s the last of the Night of Champions Fallout and of course, the prevailing wonder is what is Roman Reigns going to do about Jimmy Uso. His 1,000 Days Celebration is to take place tonight and that lingering issue looms large. How will it be handled? Besides that, Lacey Evans and Zelina Vega will box for a shot at the Women’s Money in the Bank contract as Montez Ford and LA Knight vie for the Men’s. Everything else, we’ll have to tune in and see.

I’ll be viewing normally tonight so I’ll catch the action at 8pm PDT. You’re more than welcome to join the unofficial watch party. I try to have fun with it. I suggest you do the same.

See You in a Bit,

-Nicole Alexis (^_~)
