RAW Escorts Us to Crown Jewel...

A Good Monday to You, Enthusiasts.   I hope it finds you well. So, there are some tidbits to snack on in the wrestling world. Shall we have a taste?   First thing is first, AEW appears to be gaining on WWE. Even with a “super-sized” SmackDown, AEW still gained the bulk of the 18-49 year-old demographic for about 30 minutes. I wouldn’t boast too much if I were AEW, though. Seeing how SmackDown was on FS1 and we got baseball playoffs and the NHL and NBA are waking from their seasonal slumbers there was plenty to distract and moreover not everyone has access to FS1. I am not making excuses for either promotion. I think, going forward, both will have their fans and detractors. What’s becoming clearer is that these promotions satisfy different things. You go to WWE if you like action. You go to AEW if you like pro-wrestling sprinkled with some hardcore action. It’s that simple more or less. They overlap just enough to encourage future invasion but not so much that you can sub one

The Go Home Shows Commence with SmackDown for Crown Jewel

Happy Friday, Enthusiasts!   I hope it finds you well. So, this should be a fun night. Both AEW’s and WWE’s schedules are all out of whack due to real sports and performer travel and both companies are doing what they can to stir the pot in the face of it. Well, that’s all fine and good but we have to see which show actually puts on a good one. SmackDown is up first.   What’s also interesting is that Bray Wyatt or shall we say “Windham” has been tweeting today too, teasing the Fiend and all from his WWE account. So, he still has access I see. I think his “release” is a work which is fine but I don’t know how that solves “The Fiend”. I’m not saying it can’t work but his best bet is becoming “The Preacher”. It just completes the trope but I’m always up for thinking in terms of spheres. If I’m wrong, prove me wrong.   In any case, let’s take a brief inventory shall we. So, Tony Khan has the most money and a broken rib. Roman Reigns thinks CM Punk is old and slow and on a side

Here We Go! - Crown Jewel III

Happy Halloween, Enthusiasts! Hope you’ve got some fun planned.   Since I have no youngins and don’t feel like dressing up, I’m staying in and having my own grand ole time and it just so happens I get to work from home too.   That means I get to witness Crown Jewel live.   Now, I can’t say I’m looking forward to this event but I am, as always, curious.   We all know that the WWE has put themselves in a precarious spot and though it very well could be seen as a song & dance for foreigners, Crown Jewel has to amount to quite a bit more than that. Though Hell in a Cell only had 1 bad spot, that left a bad taste in a lot of people’s mouths.   I suppose people felt the WWE would “feel the heat” and “rise to the challenge”.   The display could very easily be construed as the WWE not recognizing the situation.   They may have very well believed they didn’t have a “threat” to worry about and in a way, they may not but if they don’t deliver, they certainly will.   Whether they me

Does That Future Involve SmackDown Dropping "Clean-Up" Duties?...

A Good Tuesday to You, Enthusiasts! Well, I would have to say that RAW was fairly straightforward this week.   I’m thinking with the SmackDown move to FOX pending, it looks like the WWE is starting to streamline its presentation.   Focus was definitely kept more in the ring and on matches so, let that be a note to the roster.   Going to have to put the drama in the ring and work on that technique.   Looks like this may actually start looking like an actual sporting event. As for the content, I would say that most fun was certainly the opener.   With Roman Reigns out for “X” amount of time, Brock Lesnar returns to be the resident Unstoppable Force.   Now, of course Braun Strowman comes out to threaten someone would “Get these hands…” but all that happened was Lesnar giving him an F5.   Is that all the foreshadowing we need?   It’s hard to say.   I certainly don’t want this match to be a quick one but I’m not sure about Strowman’s actual ability in the ring.   He does come off
