RAW Brings Us Back to the Payback Schedule...

How’s Everyone Doing?

It’s completely understandable if you still don’t know how to feel. Life can throw a mean curveball and a person just has to take some time to digest the implications and associated emotions. Take your time. There’s no real rush. However, in Sports Entertainment, the show must go on and so it shall.

We’ll start with the Realm of AEW as CM Punk is CM Punking as his new locker room foe appears to be Jack Perry. Rumor has it that there was a kerfuffle that wasn’t backstage at their PPV, All In, this past weekend that had Punk landing Perry in a chokehold but the story keeps changing so it’s hard to say what provoked the showdown and all that.

Again, personally, the frequency of the tiffs seems too unprofessional for me so I still feel these are “shot works” so to speak. Works meant to seem real is another way of thinking about it. Word currently is that both Punk and Perry have been suspended while an investigation is conducted. So, yet again, Punk may have to take this to WWE just so it flies. Either way, I get the feeling WWE knows just how to handle his shit. If they get it right, it could be fun for all. We shall see.

Back in the WWE Universe, I wouldn’t be surprised if most are still reeling from the loss of Bray Wyatt. It still hasn’t quite sunk in for me either but Life always goes on.

Last week’s SmackDown marked a ratings high as most tuned in to pay their respects. I checked in late and I was moved as most of us were. It was a touching send off and the night’s performers were true troopers for sucking it up and putting on a respectable show. It’s all just such a shame.

As you can imagine, the news has kind of upended the plans for Payback but WWE is pushing through. Tonight we’re more or less back to business as usual. It’s looking like Trish Stratus and Zoey Stark will close things out with a Steel Cage Last Woman Standing Match.  Before that, Tommaso Ciampa, grandsired from Engywook, will face the imposing Bronson Reed. The New Day have new beef with the Viking Raiders. And Chad Gable will continue to chase Intercontinental glory, this time against Ludwig Kaiser.

For all else we’ll have to tune in. Been getting a lot of passer-bys of late so, if you’re curious, I do my playful posting on Twitter. If you want to join the unofficial watch party, the fun starts at 8pm PDT. Feel free to stop by if you’re able.

See You in a Bit,

-Nicole Alexis (^_~)
