And Now, onto Tribute to the Troops...

Ai-ya Enthusiasts, This has certainly been a WWE week and we have another couple hours of it tonight as we honor those who fight for us and this country.  I guess you can't knock it but, I'll be doing the usual Twitter thing nonetheless.  This was taped last week so there will be mostly critique but given what has transpired since then, I wouldn't be surprised if we notice a distinct difference in quality. You'd think they'd amp it up a little for our troops but the bar had yet to be raised.  They could have actually thought they were doing enough.  We will be the judges...as always (^_~) See You Soon, -Nicole Alexis.

PUTTIN’ THAT SMACKDOWN…What Actually Happened Last Night (Dec. 16th, 2014)

With RAW producing one of its better, though lower rated, installments it was up to Smackdown to continue the job of saving WWE face.   Rumors are circulating that there may be a “silent protest” in the WWE locker room seeing how Triple H actually knows what he’s doing.   He should but the Old Guard is an established one and it provides the means to fill the coffers that both the Main Roster and NXT rely upon.   Yet, no coffers will be filled if we the audience are not happy and we’ve been making our opinions known.   The first act of the Revolution continues, my fellow enthusiasts. Where will it all lead? Conjectures aside, Smackdown got to work in swift fashion this past Tuesday night.   To open, we have Fandango and Rosa Mendes doing their slightly more embellished intro to no one’s real attention and it really doesn’t matter because our view is redirected to the back of the house when Roman Reigns’ music comes on.   It appears that Reigns will be eased back into t

Will It Be a "Super SMACKDOWN"?....

Who can say, who can say.   RAW was actually decent last night but still a far cry from the solid NXT.  Tsk-tsk-tsk, usually you like to see the new generation succeed but not when you're still supposedly reigning supreme.  What to do, what to do?  Fortunately for us, that's the WWE's internal problem and we'll benefit by default because we're who they're trying to please.  Ain't being a fan, great! Well, Smackdown is airing more or less in real time this week on the USA network so, whatever your typical Tuesday programming, scrap it or flip between commercials. I'll be tweeting like I usually do, as well.  Join the party if you please.  Always the more the merrier (^_~) See You in a Bit, -Nicole Alexis.

GIVING IT TO YOU RAW…What Happened Last Night (Dec. 15th, 2014)

The Revolution is upon us, my friends.   And I have to say, it couldn’t have come at a better time.   To be honest, it’s because of recent events that we have suddenly been brought to now.   I suppose we can thank NXT the most for this change of pace.   Their raising of the bar is forcing the WWE to reconsider itself.   In its healthiest manifestation, it’s the infusion of friendly competition.   In its less honorable form, there’s the obsessive urge to stay on top of the heap and save face.    How can the WWE do that when it’s obviously been shown up?   It’s a question it hoped to answer with this week’s RAW. We have a special treat tonight!   Chris Jericho, good ol’Y2J himself is gonna general manage the night’s events in Detroit, MI.   Yet, before he can get fully settled in, there’s the niggling matter of that Slammy he won for the Most Extreme Moment of the Year.   Somewhere around here, Fandango’s lame ass has it and Jericho would kindly like it returned.   He calls for

So Now It's to RAW...

Oh me oh my, Enthusiasts! These are interesting times.  It looks like the Revolution is upon us whether anyone is ready for it or not. With WWE's little brother in NXT showing it up in humbling fashion and TLC not nearly being the hot comeback they were hoping, what happens next is a question on all our tongues.  Well, it's safe to say that RAW is not the best option that the WWE has to offer for a rebuttal but seeing how this week is booked hard with all sorts of wrasslin', will the WWE throw whatever's planned out the window and try to come up with something better on the fly or stick to the script?  It's hard to say what would hurt or help more.  The festivities have begun.  I'll peruse on the Twitters and then take a gander along with the rest of the West Coast cable on-lookers and tweet freely in a few hours.  Please, I welcome you all to tweet along.  Those with something funny to say will get retweeted.  I still look forward to the day when I'm am

PUTTIN’ THAT SMACKDOWN…What Happened Last (Tuesday) Night [Dec. 12th, 2014]

These are interesting times, interesting times indeed.  Though SmackDown was taped on Tuesday, the NXT Takeover inadvertently served as a direct challenge to the late week mainstay and the WWE infrastructure in general.  In truly inspiring fashion, these up and comers displayed that what they bring is actually what we as wrestling fans want to see.   Though the cleaner execution in the WWE seems to be the true distinction between the 2, it is resoundingly clear that what NXT is doing would certainly work.   And so, with that fresh in our minds come this past Friday, it was easy to compare and contrast.   Whether the WWE wants to be or not, they seem to be riding the cusp of an upheaval. SmackDown opens this week with John Cena coming out to start the psych-up for TLC this Sunday.  Yet, to little surprise, Seth Rollins has something to say as well.  You’re washed up, Cena.  We’ve been seeing you hold it down for over a decade so, thanks but your time is up and mine has just

Who's in the Mood for Some SMACKDOWN?...

I guess I could go for some.  Yet, I just have to say, I took a gander at that there uh, NXT Takeover and was mighty impressed.  Went on to comment that it's a bit of a shame that the WWE minor league is churning out better product than the major.  That's never a good look.  Could these rumors of an internal power struggle be true? Could this be the impetus for a push to allow Triple H and perhaps some NXT writers to start straightening out everything that appears to be going wrong?  By the looks of it, it wouldn't hurt.  Though I don't disavow that Vince McMahon loves his baby, I'm pretty sure he's a businessman first and foremost.  Hopefully, this begins the revolution. Vive la Resistance & See You in a Bit, -Nicole Alexis (^_~)

GIVING IT TO YOU RAW WITH SLAMMYS…What Happened Last Night (Dec. 8th, 2014)

Image
So, it was a busy Monday night being the last RAW before TLC and the Slammys to be presented, as well.  The WWE brought in Seth Green to help with the night’s festivities and to be honest, I thought he’d have more fun with it but, he came off surprisingly out of place.  Perhaps the wrestling backdrop just isn’t his bag (^_~) but he played along fairly well, regardless.  It wasn’t really a night of thrills or surprises and the action was palatable.  Yet, with so much going on, it was hard to focus on anything so RAW appears to get a pass, critique-wise, by default. Since the theme was the Slammy Awards, each match was kinda bookend-ed with a presentation yet, I couldn’t really care less about who won what because, just like any award show on MTV the whole thing basically boiled down to a popularity contest but, if you want a breakdown go ahead and click here .  I’ll blog about the “real” action. The first match of the night that we eventually get to is between Dolph Zi
