RAW Tunes Up for FastLane...

A Merry Monday to You, Enthusiasts.

How is everything? Well, it’s a mixed bag in terms of the rumors circulating around the Wrestling World. There’s enough to have a decent conversation, though so, let’s get into it.

We’ll start on the outskirts of the WWE Universe as current members of the roster are keeping mum on the possibility of CM Punk returning to WWE. In recent interviews, both Finn Bálor and Drew McIntyre were very noncommittal to the notion leading to a “wait and see” sort of sentiment. The general consensus is that the decision will more or less come down to Triple H, Nick Khan and perhaps a Locker Room vote.

Most feel that as long as Punk can prove profitable, something will be worked out but there are a lot of people who don’t care for any of Punk’s mess so it’s hard to call at this moment. Like I said previously, if they can keep the “drama” on TV, I don’t see what the problem is. We’ll see if some agreement is ever reached.

Elsewhere in the WWE Universe, Matt Riddle is proving me right with his recent antics at JFK airport. He’s alleging “sexual assault” against the local Port Authority officials that he had the displeasure of encountering. I’m sure the feeling was mutual since what’s going around is that Riddle was the disorderly one. This reads as a tone-deaf take on how to make light of his general reputation and it goes to show why I don’t care for the man.

If there is any truth to the allegations that were brought up against him in the past and one has to figure something happened since they paid out one of the aggrieved parties millions of dollars, then there really isn’t anything funny about the situation, is there. Yet, he comes off like the type who would try to downplay it. A guy can’t have fun anymore, kind of thing. That crass mentality has always been distasteful and I can’t help but feel a little vindicated now that he is properly shooting himself in the foot.

That’s what I was talking about. He was never repentant. Just wanted it all to go away so he could go back to acting like some stoned, wrestling, surfer dude. WWE doesn’t need it. It might have been seen as cute 25 years ago but it’s hard to get any of that shit to fly these days. I for one am not having it, especially if others have been actually hurt by it. I certainly won’t be sad if Riddle is soon allowed to pursue “future endeavors”.

In any case, that brings us to tonight’s RAW. Payback properly filed away they will now pave the way to FastLane. First off, the now historic “Ring General” GUNTHER will celebrate the longest Intercontinental Championship run. Rhea Ripley and Raquel Rodriguez will try to rekindle their rivalry with the Women’s World Championship on the line. Dominik Mysterio will be banned from ringside but we’ll see if that prevents any interference. And Cody Rhodes is riding a bit of a wave right now having earned some good press at recent house shows. He’ll be back with a few things to say. As for the rest of the 3 hours, you’ll have to make some time for it.

I’ll be doing just that at 8pm Pacific Time. There’s no real pressure since we’re in No Man’s Land territory. We’ll probably see a few of the lesser known members of the roster attempt to make something out of nothing so, I don’t blame anyone for opting to check highlights later. See if anything drops into the feed, sort of thing. I don’t blame you. The watch party will be there no matter what you decide.

See You in a Bit,

-Nicole Alexis (^_~)
