RAW Fallout - Royal Rumble 2025

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?

Did you enjoy the Rumble? Well, there were some things to be desired, I’ll admit but it was a good time. I have to say I had fun regardless but, yeah, there’s some things to talk about for sure. Want to get into it? Let's…

So, no AJ Lee, no Becky Lynch, no Aleister Black and no Randy Orton; a lot of commenters were hoping for that one. It would seem the WWE Universe got their hopes up a bit for this one but it wasn’t a bad show in my opinion. I would say that the Ladies’ surprises were more interesting than the men’s. They pulled the trigger on Stephanie Vaquer and Giulia so that was lowkey exciting. Alexa Bliss still has her diehard fans but there were a lot of mixed responses to Charlotte Flair winning. I heard that was what was going to probably happen so, no surprises and I don’t mind it at all.

Just a brief aside to that ‘cause word came out that Charlotte and Andrade got divorced back in June so, interesting to hold that bit of info until after the fact. I think that’s a good bit of controlling the narrative if you ask me. Neither seem that broken up about it and Charlotte is about to rival Elizabeth Taylor when it comes to marriages so, this must be old hat to her. That just dropped my jaw today so I figured I might as well slip it in before I continue.

As for the Men’s Rumble, though the “surprises” weren’t much I thought it was well-executed. I particularly like how the SHIELD lore still holds up. CM Punk, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins are all fully over and to see Punk dump them both out the ring was more cohesive than I’d ever give credit to WWE. Punk’s following in Christian Cage’s footsteps by proving to be the “Father” of the faction and having brought them into the world, he rightly took ‘em out. I love it.

I think Rollins ought to watch his back for the time being, though. He lost it on Punk and we saw that coming but Rollins stomping Reigns I think deserves getting him caught out backstage at some point. Reigns shouldn’t let that go but tag him back accordingly. Just like something on his To-Do List. It shouldn’t be gnawing at him, it should be very “Oh yeah, one sec…” and he dispatches him, you know just to even the score. Needless to say, this all bodes well for…we’ll just say the future 😉

Most enjoyed that influencer, IShowSpeed, getting annihilated by Bron Breakker. I thought Breakker came at him kinda hard. He’s gotta be what…150lbs tops? Breakker turned him inside out! Looks like a good chunk of Speed’s leg got taken off too but he played through as best he could.

There was some “drama” with Drew McIntyre but even if it was valid I’m gonna take it as a “work” ‘cause McIntyre is just doing him right now. Can’t trust any grievances ‘cause everything tends to be shite when it comes to him. That’s fine, though. It works.

But as for the conclusion, I don’t mind Jey Uso winning but I think the majority thought John Cena was robbed. This isn’t uncommon for WWE but given the vibe of the night and the lack of male surprises, I don’t know if it was the right move. The Crowd was really behind Cena and though Jey is hella over, this is Cena’s swan song and the wind got completely sucked out of the sails. I found that telling as well. Looks like Cena will be getting a win in the near future. We can somewhat assume that was the endgame but I doubt WWE brass expected the divided response.

All that said, it appears that the Match of the Night went to Kevin Owens and Cody Rhodes which did go full tilt. Ladders were used. Ladders were destroyed and so was Owens. We’ll see how long it takes for him to come back and we’ll see if sense has actually been knocked into him or if he’s as snarky as ever. It could go either way.

So that leaves us tonight’s RAW Fallout. All that’s advertised is that Qualifying Matches start for next month’s Elimination Chamber. Cena already booked himself a spot. Tonight, Sami Zayn will try to get in CM Punk’s way. And Iyo Sky will try to ruin Liv Morgan’s night. We’ll also hear from our Royal Rumble winners. For all other repercussions, we’ll have to watch and see.

I’ll be tuning in during the 8 o’clock hour in solidarity with my West Coasters. Many of us who work 9am - 5pm jobs aren’t available at the start anyway. We need a little time to get comfortable. Feel free to join the unofficial watch party once you’re ready.

See You in a Bit,

-Nicole Alexis (^_~)
