Elimination Chamber 2025 - SmackDown Fallout

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?

Happy Friday! So, there isn’t anything crazy going on but we definitely have a few talking points. Are you up for a little chat? I’ll try to keep it brief. Let’s chew this fat.

We’ll do a quick stop in the Realm of AEW as Uncle Edge appears to have “stripped” Jon Moxley of his Death Riders. The last one, Wheeler Yuta, was always on the fence though he appears to have accepted his fate. After an honest throwdown, Uncle Edge did the one thing Mox may never, offer him a friendly handshake and show of respect. The sincere gesture seems to have brought back some of the “old Yuta” and Mox finds himself standing alone ahead of his showdown with Uncle Edge on Sunday.

A lot of commenters still don’t get it but that’s fine. Uncle Edge is serving the idea well and I’m not worried about it. The Future continues to look Bright and they just have to keep things engaging until the “real stuff” starts to happen. Let them lay the groundwork.

Allow me to just suggest that regardless of the outcome of Sunday’s Championship Match, Fallout should have Mox coming up with a new name for the Riders to illustrate a new focus. If where Mox is at is say a 5 out of 10, it’s about time to take to a 6. When the “real stuff” starts to happen, he should be just about to cross from 7 to an 8 so that the “drastic measures” make sense. Naturally, the repercussions take him to a 9 and subsequently 10, then all bets are off. That’s how’d I pace it is all 😉

In the WWE Universe, there are some more former employee grievances coming to the fore as Carmella voices her dismay about how she was let go. She’s being vocal about how she felt “ghosted” by WWE. It sounds like she was pitching ideas for her to transition into another role but, as we have witnessed, WWE decided to simply move on.

Carmella feels this is a sort of discrimination for her becoming a mother and that the matter could have certainly been handled more graciously. However, many commenters are siding with WWE. Carmella was with them for 12 years and was out of action for 2 before her contract expired. In addition, she has been suffering from drop foot and basically can’t wrestle.

That coupled with how the likes of Alexa Bliss recently triumphantly returned after having her baby and Becky Lynch being allowed to take a sabbatical to care for her toddler seems to weaken the discrimination claim. Most are being honest in expressing that Carmella may have simply had her time.

Personally, I can see both sides of the argument and I’m leaning towards WWE needs to work on their employee relations. Too many of these sorts of dismissals could result in litigation if enough people feel slighted enough. I’m sure the claims aren’t strong enough at present but if a pattern of poor treatment can be established, some employment law firm may be game to pursue a class action suit.

If I’m WWE, I wouldn’t like this unflattering press. Most know that Wrestling can be cold just like the Entertainment Industry but a little consideration and courtesy rarely hurts anyone so, I don’t see why they can’t at least have a firm yet respectful phone call to send people on their way. Letting people “get the hint”, is kind of lazy at a glance. If you’re the best, why not emulate it in business and on screen? It’s just a suggestion.

In lighter WWE news, their Speed competition got a good match out of Ivar and Yoshiki Inamura this week. I haven’t watched this online offering but I’m always willing to take a look at a good match, regardless of where it is and I have to concur. I’m not familiar with Inamura but he reads like the rebel son of E. Honda. He’s stocky with a Sumo style and he and Ivar had themselves a chunky hoss fight.

Both move better than you’d give them credit and they set about trying to squash each other into the mat. It was a solid showing. Inamura has the makings of a sleeper hit on the mid-card stage which is something I'd like to see. We’ll see if it happens.

To curve around back to the Elimination Chamber, Travis Scott got a lot of flak for smacking Cody Rhodes pretty hard during the infamous John Cena Heel Turn. Rumors were that Scott busted Rhodes’ eardrum and people had a lot of shit to say about it. Then it came out that Rhodes is fine. So, it seems like WWE is picking up on the tactic of disinformation. Fine by me. All they need is people talking and in this case, mission accomplished.

And so, that brings us to tonight’s SmackDown. We have the last of the Elimination Chamber Fallout and then it’s all about WrestleMania. In the meantime, Jimmy Uso will try to take a bite out of Drew McIntyre. LA Knight will dare to face a grief-stricken Shinsuke Nakamura. Chelsea Green and Mia Yim will have themselves another Street Fight for the US Championship. Braun Strowman will see what Solo Sikoa has got and Cody Rhodes will talk with us a little to give us some solace in these oh so uncertain times.

We don’t have the luxury of starting when we’d like on Fridays so, the unofficial watch party will start at 8pm PST. Stop by if you don’t know what else to do with yourself.

See You in a Bit,

-Nicole Alexis (^_~)
