SmackDown Joins the Official Walk to WrestleMania....
How’s It Going, Enthusiasts?
It’s rainy and cold in Southern
California so, there’s plenty of reasons to stay inside. As for the Wrestling World,
there are few things going on but nothing too startling. Shall we have our little
chat? Let’s.
So, let’s swing by the Realm of AEW as
they had their Revolution Fallout this past Wednesday. We had some poignant
words from a more…contemplative Jon Moxley but it’s Papa Christian who stole
the show. I would say MJF and MVP were a respectable second. I think they may
serve well as “instigators” so to speak. I think I’ve already shared that I
feel MJF should “make the call” but it’s looking like Papa Christian should “light
the fire” more or less. And Chris Jericho can be on standby for that as a
contingency. The Future needs help to remain Bright and these gentlemen may
serve this…transition well 😉 Hopefully, they can pace this to start
popping off next year.
Also in AEW, Mike Bailey debuted. He’s such
a retro throwback. He’s a Taekwondo Black Belt and his presentation reminded me
of a lighter sort of Bloodsport. I doubt he’s even 30 yet but it looks
like he’s stuck in 1987, but charmingly so. Commenters advise he’s not the best
on the mic but his flashy displays could work in the Wrestling World. Something
about it was nice to see. Good luck to him.
In the Land of Free Agency, there’s a lot
speculation hovering around Jeff Cobb. He’s been in the game a minute and definitely
knows what he’s doing so, rumors have been circulating that he’s already signed
with WWE on the downlow. He cheekily addressed these rumors by plugging his run
with New Japan. What’s real is officially inconclusive which, for Wrestling
makes complete sense. I hope whatever is going on, works out for him.
And so that brings us to tonight’s SmackDown.
Much of the roster is abroad on a European Tour and they start off in Barcelona.
Everything is done and dusted so we’ll be getting tape-delayed fare. We can
expect Bianca Belair to continue to wade through the Jade Cargill fallout. DIY
will let the Street Profits try to take the Tag Team Championships. Charlotte
Flair will see what B-Fab has to offer. Randy Orton will see how hard it is to get his hands on Carmelo Hayes. And Cody Rhodes will continue to wax poetic on what
comes at WrestleMania.
There’s a slight chance I may be detained
this evening so, I may cater to the international audience more this time
around but if everything stays routine, the unofficial watch party will start
at 8pm PST. Feel free to drop by if it’s too cold and wet outside.
See You in a Bit,
-Nicole Alexis (^_~)
