SmackDown Rolls Like Rules Are Always Extreme

Image
A Tasty Tuesday to You, Enthusiasts! Why “tasty” you ask…because it starts with “T” 😉 So, we gather tonight to watch SmackDown’s Extreme Rules fallout show and it appears that we’ll have ourselves a Town Hall meeting hosted by Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan has big news!   It’s supposed to be career-altering.   I’m not even going to attempt to figure the angles here.   Just gonna sit back and watch and see if it lands. As for last night, I’d have to say it was a solid show.   The only thing that stuck out really was the Viking Raiders. Don’t know what to do with these guys.   I know the Viking thing is kinda hot right now but I have no idea how this works in the wrestling world.   I mean, there’s some wackiness going on, don’t get me wrong.   AEW is rocking some dude going by Luchasaurus and he strolls out with a pretty ornate lizard-like mask.   That guy works there, I guess but this particular We the Audience doesn’t really know how to take these sort of gimmicks.   They te

How’s this Tuesday Going for You? I had a doctor’s appointment if that’s any consolation.   So, RAW didn’t so much phone it in as lob it over the net, so to speak.   As far as Go Home Shows go, I’d say they missed the mark a bit but as for a show, it was very OK.   Now, that makes it somewhat clear that they’re leaving the dirty work to SmackDown this time around.   So, here’s where some intrigue floats to the surface.   Was that all Paul Heyman could come up with or is that what he’s leaving Eric Bischoff to clean up? As this new era develops, there are going to be a ton of ways for Kayfabe to slip in.   One of those ways is in speculation in how the shows are run.   Would Heyman be that much of dick to leave the guy who hasn’t even officially started yet with the short end of the stick?   Well, if it makes for good story maybe.   We’ll see if this is just experimentation or the set-up of a more interesting tale. In any case, SmackDown has to do what it often has to

How’s It Going, Enthusiasts? So, enjoy RAW last night?   I didn’t find much wrong with it, to be honest.   I found it interesting that AJ Styles got the band back together.   We’ll see if he has more fun with this heel-turn.   I also find it kinda funny of how played up the Hoss Fight between Bobby Lashley and Braun Strowman is.   Rumor now has it that Strowman may possibly have a ruptured spleen and/or a separated pelvis.   They didn’t go through the display that hard and Strowman did all the plowing so, how is he the one all busted up?   Well, if both need to get surgery for something or just need to rest up, that’s fine.   They earned it.   It’s basically filler until Summer Slam anyway. In any case, tonight we may get an amuse bouche from Eric Bischoff and see how he handles this wrestling thing on WWE terms.   Word is that he probably won’t officially start until after Extreme Rules but since Heyman made his presence felt last night, he may have gone ahead and kept pace.

SmackDown's On It. It's All About Extreme Rules Now, Right?....

How’s This Tuesday Going for You, Enthusiasts? I hope you don’t have too many complaints.   I actually don’t have many because RAW was solid last night.   In all honesty, it kinda had to be.   I don’t know if they let someone new take a crack at staging a PPV but they definitely went back to basics on RAW .   Regardless, this could be considered a respectable strategy in the face of AEW.   Opposed to ardently trying to “beat” them, WWE could be viewed as taking the “relaxed” approach.   So what AEW’s holding a stream-free event next weekend, we’ll experiment with the new PPV and see what works.  The WWE can seem too involved with streamlining and developing the product to be concerned with the likes of AEW or any other similar stable.   It’s the WWE and it’s busy.   It could just work.   Jericho’s already trolling.   They should play along.   I would not mind cross-over events in the future. In any case, as for tonight, the WWE has to continue to be aware.   RAW had to play S

Greetings Enthusiasts! How’s this Tuesday going for you?   Meh, I’ve had better and I’ve had worse.   No point in dwelling.   Anyway, RAW did its job and performed the set-up.   M aybe someone gave them a pep talk before the show but everyone seemed ready to play and that was fun.   I respect and welcome the effort.   I was saying how it seemed like they weren’t having fun out there and my point is, what’s the point of this if the talent is miserable?   Who wants to watch downtrodden performers?   You want excitement and enthusiasm.   Well, we got a bit of that last night and now SmackDown has to take the shot set before them and hopefully get a win. To do that, we have Xavier Woods attempting to dissect Dolph Ziggler’s beef in the ring.   And Bayley will head back to SmackDown with Alexa Bliss to share “A Moment of Bliss”.   Not sure how blissful it will be but we can certainly give it a shot.    Since that’s not much to go on, SmackDown will have to be clever in deliverin

Doesn't Matter Where You Are, Money In the Bank Is Going to Get Done!

Greetings Enthusiasts! How’s Tuesday going for you?   So, RAW was quite palatable in my opinion.   Of course an “ideal” go-home show would have been more rousing but this is a good start.   I don’t expect them to turn things around overnight but what I did witness was honest effort.   No one appeared to phone it in.   Everyone was trying to sell it and for that I’m appreciative.   Angling this downward spiral upwards is no easy task.   Everyone is going to have to have a little personal chat with themselves and see how much they’re willing to commit/invest because this will take some dedication. The up-side is that all they really have to do is learn how to have fun out there again.   I get the feeling the real answer to this WWE slump is more obvious than they may think.   They’re looking to past stars and new partnerships when they may have to double back to the basics.   Tell a decent story, make the action compelling and fun.   If the series finale of Game of Thrones tur

And they get broke anyway too 😉 Greetings Enthusiasts! A Good Tuesday to you.   So, SmackDown offers up its Go-Home tithe and RAW , for once, doesn’t leave much for them to clean-up.   They actually have to stand on their own and make us want to tune in on Sunday.   So, how are they gonna do that?   Well, The Miz is set to interview Team Hell No on MizTV.   Not sure how that will go down….flames seem more likely than not but I could be wrong.    But, i f fire does break out, perhaps it could light up the rivalry smoldering between Cien Almas and Sin Cara.   For Cien’s sake he better hope so.   Still more intrigued by his manager than him.   Haven’t been impressed.   Also, Tye Dillinger will get some air time and try to hold his own against big, bad Samoa Joe.   Asuka is going to finish up her unfinished business with James Ellsworth as they lock horns in a Lumberjack Match.   And AJ Styles and a recovered(?) Shinsuke Nakamura will loosen each other up with a non-title match

You'll See. SmackDown Will Be Nice & Limber After FastLane...

G reetings Enthusiasts! Tonight we have FastLane to feast upon and in all honesty, not sure how much it will really matter come WrestleMania time.   Don’t get me wrong.   I’ll watch just the same to get my money’s worth but the thing about the WWE Universe is that it seems to refresh itself daily.   What happens tonight may be followed up on this week’s SmackDown but after that, it’s just that steady jog towards WrestleMania and during all that, anything established tonight, can change.   ‘Tis the nature of this beast.   So, why watch?   Well, to see if the WWE will make it interesting for the most part.  We watch for the blatant entertainment. The thing we must keep in mind the most for this genre is that the way the WWE is structured, all they need do is be entertaining.   Yes, ideally what we watch should make some sort of sense but ultimately, if it puts smiles on our faces, we don’t really care what we see.   So, the draw is to see if the WWE can string some action toge
